RISCO urges the industry to “Stand Up For Security!” Survey unearths golden opportunity for security installers RISCO is urging installers to take advantage of great consumer interest in smart alarms and the ‘connected home’ on the back of research which shows that householders trust the security industry most to provide the products that will underpin the homes of the future Research conducted by YouGov for security provider RISCO reveals that nearly 1 in 2 (46%) of those with an alarm are keen to control it with their smartphone or tablet, with interest peaking at 70% of those with an alarm aged 25-34. Interest is not restricted to the young and tech-savvy: an alarm linked to their smartphone appeals to more than 1 in 4 (28%) of those with a burglar alarm aged 65 and over. Separately, the survey of 4,237 British adults found that more than 1 in 2 (54%) of householders with an alarm (and 1 in 3 of those without) are interested in installing an alarm system that controls other household systems – the so-called ‘connected home’. As well as using it himself for motorsport meets, Bedroam is available to hire. “If you can’t get a hotel when you’re going to a wedding or don’t want to camp at a festival then this is the perfect solution,” he told George Clarke of ‘Amazing Spaces’. Needless to say he has been inundated with bookings. The Bedroam has two fully-equipped bathrooms with shower, toilet and sink. Sinks and showers are supplied with safe temperature controlled hot water from controller, via motion sensor-operated taps. In 2009, North Yorkshire County Council put in place a programme aimed at reducing carbon emissions and to gas heating where practical and economically viable. Independent heating and plumbing company HCS Mechanical Services Ltd, who are the Council’s current mechanical services framework contractor, selected advised that EOGB should be used as the sole provider of Baltur commercial gas burners for the conversion programme. Barry Taylor, Operations Director at HCS Mechanical Services Ltd, commented: “We choose to use EOGB as the burners are excellent quality, spares are available very quickly and we have the reassurance of technical back-up being available both over the phone and, where required, on site.
