The sixth-graders painted the rocks and added inspirational words and phrases to each one. Students and their families placed the rocks along the rail trail and on the campus of Shrewsbury Elementary School on Earth Day. The project was designed to teach the students about spreading kindness through the community. According to teacher Rebecca Rohrbaugh, the project helped students learn that they are capable of spreading joy in the community.
