lows its respective school’s protocol. Carefulness extends to transportation, with seating charts for buses. To volunteer, an individual must be at least age 16, but there is no upper age limit. Brown noted that several octo- and nonagenarians are actively involved with Bible Adventure. All volunteers must past background checks. They do not need to be members of the hosting churches, but they must have a desire to introduce children to Jesus, Brown said. Additionally, bus drivers are needed. Interested individuals must have a CDL with a P endorsement. Brown has been involved with Bible Adventure for several years after previously
working for another ministry. She came to know Jesus at age 5 and wants children to have that same opportunity. “I’ve had some pretty hard things in my life. I don’t think I would have made it through without Jesus and the hope of Him,” Brown explained. “I want these kids to learn about Jesus when I did, as early as possible, so they can rely on Him in good times and bad times.” Students may join Bible Adventure at any time, but they must first be registered. Caregivers may learn more about Bible Adventure and register youngsters at https://joyelgeneration.org/ bible-adventure/start-here. Potential volunteers may contact Brown at 717-618-9839 and tammyjoyel@gmail.com.

Do you enjoy spending time with elementary school students? Do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ? Do you have two daytime hours a week available to help youngsters learn about Jesus? If you answered “yes” to these three questions, then Tammy Brown wants to talk with you. Brown is the equipping coordinator for southern Lancaster and York counties for Joy El Ministries’ Bible Adventure program, and she is recruiting volunteers to help with existing offerings and to open new ones. Bible Adventure programs are offered for students in third to fifth grades, with the occasional addition of sixth grade, depending on the school. For one hour a week during the school year, participants are excused from their classes to attend Bible Adventure. Typically, the programs are held at a nearby church, but some schools allow students to meet in a room on campus. Volunteers gather at
the venues a half-hour before students arrive, then take another half-hour afterward to debrief. During the Bible Adventure hour, volunteers lead group singing, teach a Bible lesson, and meet with students in small groups to work on memorizing Bible verses. Scripture memorization is a significant part of Bible Adventure, with a special points-and-rewards program to incentivize participation. Brown noted that the curriculum is created by Joy El staff members and covers the contents of the Bible from beginning to end. “We start with explaining what the Bible is because some children don’t know what the Bible is or why we believe what it says,” Brown said. “We cover creation, the fall, rescue through Jesus’ death on the cross, and restoration through relationship with Him.” This school year has been somewhat different because of the pandemic; each local Bible Adventure meeting fol-

According to YCL youth services director Paula Gilbert, the children and their families achieved the goal of reading 1,000 books during the program’s second year from July 1, 2019, to Sept. 1, 2020. ATTENTION ROTATOR CUFF AND SHOULDER PAIN SUFFERERS! New Rotator Cuff Workshop Reveals How to Naturally Heal Shoulder Pain for Good Without Medications, Injections or Surgery… Do you have shoulder pain when you reach up high overhead? Does it bother you to lift something heavy? Having trouble reaching behind your back? Problems sleeping at night? Has reaching into the back seat become impossible? Have you changed the way you do yardwork, housework or get dressed because of shoulder problems? If you have answered YES to any of the above questions (or have a stubborn spouse who is in denial) – the Rotator Cuff Workshop may be a life changing event for you… “When I first came in, I was having trouble doing simple things around the house from an injury to my shoulder after a fall. My shoulder hurt emptying the dishwasher, putting dishes away, picking up a full pot of coffee in the morning, and reaching items above my head. Now I can do all chores and more PAIN FREE!” - Susan B. Hello, Rotator Cuff and Shoulder Pain can completely ruin your life… I’ve seen it many times. 4 It can stop you from feeling like a normal person… 4 It can make you change the way you move doing everyday activities… 4 It can make sleeping at night nearly impossible leaving you feeling tired all day long… And less movement and enjoying of life can lead to depression, increased stress and a sedentary lifestyle (mostly sitting…not moving much) which leads to bigger health problems… and life problems. Here at Madden PT, our Rotator Cuff Experts have helped 100’s of people who have suffered needlessly with rotator cuff pain…it’s our specialty. So by request, I’m hosting a Rotator Cuff Workshop here at Madden Physical Therapy in Shrewsbury in the Giant Shopping Center (right next to AAA) on Wednesday, December 2nd at 7 PM…
