Kraybill Mennonite School, 598 Kraybill Church Road, Mount Joy, will hold its 45th annual Pig Roast and Auction on Friday, May 6, from 4 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Friday, auction items will be available to view beginning at 4 p.m., and the live auction will begin at 5 p.m. Items will include class projects from Kraybill students, teacher events and a variety of experiences. On Saturday morning, visitors may preview items beginning at 9 a.m., with the bidding at 10 a.m. Items will include lawn and garden merchandise, quilts, a refrigerator and upright freezer, and a variety of flowers and plants. Children’s activities will be provided both days, with a tent of games for those up to fifth grade, multiple inflatables, a Quarterback Toss, and a dunk tank. Food options will include the pig roast on Friday night, the Mount Joy Rotary French Fry Truck, Dutch Country Hand-Rolled Soft Pretzels, and hamburgers and hot dogs from Gene Wenger’s Meats and Fine Foods. On Saturday, Kraybill will offer a pancake breakfast from 8 to 9:30 a.m., followed by a chicken barbecue from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The traditional Kraybill Auction strawberry pies and baked goods will be available until sold out. There is a maximum of 20 players per team and a 10-player minimum. A team roster and registration fee are required by May 20. Games will be scheduled on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. There is a 15-game schedule with playoffs. In addition to the registration fee, teams are responsible for paying an umpire fee per game.
