Writeface, a local nonprofit organization that offers free writing workshops to veterans, has announced its 2019 winter/spring schedule. Folks do not need to be a writer or an artist to participate. Writeface strives to provide a safe space for veterans, in the company of other veterans, to explore their inner landscape by using proven writing techniques to become reacquainted with aspects of themselves that were lost in battle. “Our goal, first and foremost, is always to create a safe environment for veterans to explore and address any difficulty they may be experiencing in their present life that may have roots in the past,” said Annie Ginder, who cofounded Writeface with Scott Hower and serves as a facilitator. “The work-
shops we offer seem to naturally create a sense of camaraderie that many veterans say they haven’t been able to recapture in civilian life. (The) Writers on the Storm (workshop) specifically uses the metaphor of a storm in each of their classes to help teach specific writing and journaling tools that can be used for the rest of their lives to help manage issues that come up in civilian life.” Starting on Thursday, Jan. 17, and continuing through Thursday, March 28, Writers on the Storm will be held at the Transitional Living Center, 105 E. King St., Lancaster. The workshops will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. No class will be held on Thursday, Feb. 14. Additionally, Writers on the Storm will be offered as part of Millersville University’s Lifelong Learning Institute, which will begin in March. For more information and to sign up for the workshop at the college, readers may See Writeface Workshops pg 5

“What I love about ‘Bye Bye Birdie’ is that you can come to this show and just enjoy,” said Heather Grayberg, who will both direct and choreograph the Lancaster Bible College (LBC) winter presentation. “(‘Birdie’ is) super fun, kitschy, loud, bright, and silly in a lot of ways.” “Bye Bye Birdie” is a Tony Award-winning musical that first played on Broadway in 1960. LBC will stage the show in the Good Shepherd Chapel, 901 Eden Road, Lancaster, on Fridays, Jan. 18 and 25, at 7 p.m.; Saturdays, Jan. 19 and 26, at 2 and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. “Birdie,” which has more than 30 members in the cast, is the story of Conrad Birdie, a singer and teenage heartthrob, played by Brayden Krikke, who is drafted into the Army. His agent, Albert Peterson, played by Richard Thomas, and Peterson’s secretary and love interest, Rosie Alvarez, played by Rachel Wiles, concoct a scheme to turn the situation into a publicity coup by planning to have Birdie sing one final song to a female member of his fan club, accompanied by a “last kiss.” The song and subsequent pucker are to take place on “The Ed Sullivan Show.” Enter teenager Kim MacAfee, played by Brianna Brady, who wins the competition.
Did You Know?
“Birdie,” which is based loosely on Elvis Presley’s induction into the Army, is set in the late 1950s. “It’s between poodle skirts and the hippie movement,” said Grayberg. “We’re trying to get in the reality of it,” she added, stating that there is a challenge in humanizing the characters to encourage audience members to relate to them rather than making them over-the-top caricatures. “We want to personify the Elvis (character) as much as possible,” Grayberg said. Focusing on the tension between Rosie and Albert’s mother, Mae, played by Rachel Allen, Grayberg also hopes to showcase the role of the young Hispanic woman. “Rosie is extremely Americanized and a strong character. She is very much the progressive woman of that time period. It will be interesting to play (up) the relationship between her and (Albert’s) mother,” she said. While Grayberg’s directing vision calls for making the roles more realistic, her plans for the choreography of the show are to make it larger-than-life. Grayberg is also working to emphasize the musical selections. “It will be overdanced,” said Grayberg. “It’s going to be big.” According to Grayberg, the production will challenge student actors in a variety of ways. “The song ‘Put on a Happy Face’ will be explosive with dance,” said the director, who hopes to add some juggling into the number. “Honestly Sincere” will be another standout. “You can’t help but dance and move and groove to it,” said Grayberg, who added that songs from the 1995 film will be included. “They give the character of Rosie a little more dimension,” she said, adding that she hopes audience members will

Tickets may also be purchased at the LBC box office in the Good Shepherd Chapel on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Readers who have questions may call 717-560-8241.

To keep the show moving continuously, the set will be a house that separates and turns around to create different geometric shapes. “It will complement the talent and let the talent be in the forefront,” said Grayberg. The set will allow for scene changes to remain fluid. “I hope to have no blackouts at all,” said Grayberg, who plans to choreograph set changes. “It will feel like a consistent piece of art.” Grayberg praised the cast mem-

“The 2019 MLK Breakfast Committee, chaired by Phil Wenger of Fulton Bank and composed of local businesspeople, nonprofit partners, and community volunteers, felt that John Hope Bryant’s passion for achieving economic equity would be impactful for the 31st annual breakfast,” said Community Action Partnership (CAP) of Lancaster County chief development officer Kristy Aurand. Crispus Attucks is a program of CAP, and it strives to be a leader in efforts to ensure equity for all people who call Lancaster home, Aurand said. “As we honor and celebrate the great achievements of Dr. King, we recognize our responsibility
to live his legacy,” Aurand continued. “We are looking forward to (hearing) a message (from Bryant) that encourages urgency in eliminating barriers to economic equity in our community, along with guiding principles on creating systems change. We hope attendees will walk away enthusiastic about continuing this important conversation and ready to roll up their sleeves and work with us toward advancing economic equity.” There is a cost to attend the MLK Breakfast, and reservations are required. When UDS Foundation moved from its previous home in Greenfield to 2270 Erin Court, Lancaster, the space available for the service dog program more than doubled. The new facility includes a kennel with space for 12 dogs, a cuddle room for puppies, and a large training room. According to Lori Breece, UDS service dog program manager, 12 puppies per year are brought into the program, which takes several years to turn an eight-week-old ball of fluff into a dog capable of giving a person with a disability a chance for greater independence. In addition to serving individuals, many UDS dogs are being sent to schools where they provide student support. “Since we have been here (in the new location), we have added several clients in less than a year, including three or four schools,” said Breece. “We are so pleased with the pups-in-the-classroom opportunity. Our vision would be a dog in every school or at least every district.” In schools, dogs serve students with multiple disabilities, but they also serve in learning support classrooms. Kristy Smith, service dog program coordinator with UDS, said that dogs help with physical therapy or with fine motor skill issues, but they also aid students struggling with “the emotional aspects of school and life’s challenges.” Breece added that in some classrooms, time with a dog can be an incentive. “For some of those students who are more challenged, it’s a calming influence, and they can work toward time with the dog as
can get socialization,” explained Breece. At the age of 18 months, the dogs are sent to trainers for six months of specialty training. Smith explained that many of the tasks the dogs perform are extensions of actions that come naturally to Labradors, such as retrieving and tugging, which make up 95 percent of the working service dog force. “A lot of the main job is retrieval from the floor or the counter or helping pay,” she said, adding that dogs tug open doors, carry bags that are too heavy (for their client), and remove articles of clothing, such as socks. “They push elevator buttons and handicappedaccessible buttons and turn light switches on and off.” The newest puppy in the UDS program has been named Sully in honor of the yellow Labrador that served President George H. W. Bush and was photographed lying near his master’s casket during the funeral services in early December. UDS’ Sully is in need of a sponsor, which can be a local individual, organization, or business, to cover his two-year training. Breece is also looking for a sponsor for the dog program’s new training room. Readers who would like to learn

a reward,” she said. Smith noted that currently UDS dogs are present in Cocalico, Ephrata, Penn Manor, and Northern York County school districts. “Each dog has a teacher or principal they go home with each night as the main handler, but we ask the schools to have a group of handlers,” she explained. Having a group of handlers allows a dog to work in multiple rooms. Breece noted that having a dog in a school affects the atmosphere of the building. “It changes the lives of the faculty by changing the environment behind the cement walls,” she said. “We’d like to see more dogs in schools.” A service dog’s training begins when it becomes part of the BARKS Prison Program, through which it is trained by an inmate at a Pennsylvania correctional facility. Puppies live with their inmate handlers around the clock, learning up to 50 commands. At the age of one year, the dogs return to Lancaster. For the next six months, they live in a volunteer puppy home. “(The dogs) attend weekly outings and training sessions, and they will go out in the community so they

Bre Fluhr, Lexi Wagner, Elizabeth Horner and Catherine Horner clocked a 3:57.99 to hold off CV’s 3:59.27 time while Tori Smith, Ellie Parido, Anastasia Curran and Molly Nagle secured the meet clinching third place finish in that final race, the 400 free relay. Fluhr and Wagner were coming off a 1-2 finish in the 100 back while E. Horner added a first in the 500 free and was second in the 100 fly. C. Horner added a win in the
wasn’t enough in the 121-40 loss. “The boys were, once again, outmatched in terms of numbers, but every one of the boys recorded at least one personal best time, which is a rare victory!” praised Rohrbaugh. “We were pleased with the kids’ performances in and out of the pool, and one of the referees complimented the team on their sportsmanlike conduct.” GIRLS’ BASKETBALL In a three game week, the Pioneers found themselves with one win against a pair of losses, falling to both Solanco and Kennard-Dale before regrouping for a win over Section One’s Warwick. Solanco’s 40-31 home victory over Lampeter-Strasburg last Tuesday, January 8, was a case of how defense wins basketball games and changes momentum. Tied at 25-25 after three quarters, the Mares came up with a number of big plays and outscored the defending Section Three champs 15-6 to stay in the hunt for the section crown. The loss ends a 25 game league winning streak for the Pioneers. We did win 10 key races that we were projected to win, it just wasn’t quite enough.” The boys’ team put forth a good effort but couldn’t match CV’s depth and dropped a 109-34 result. Solanco followed with two straight defensive stops in the paint, L-S turned the ball over, and Eshleman again scored on a miss, giving the Mares a 34-31 lead with 1:38 left. The Pioneers turned the ball over three more times and Solanco converted six straight free throws, to pull away for good. “Unforced turnovers in the fourth and lack of box outs for put backs at the wrong time hurt,” said Pioneer head coach Tony Fink. “They’ve been chasing us for two years. They want what we don’t want to give up, the section title. We can’t take
anyone lightly.” Both teams came out cautiously, and the first quarter ended in an 8-8 tie. They traded points back-and-forth through the second with neither squad leading by more than two. A pair of free throws (Solanco was 12-for-21 for the game, LS 6-for-10) by Cabrera put Solanco in front, 14-13 at the break. L-S got going a bit in the third. Holmes hit a pair of threes, the second giving them a 21-16 lead, the biggest of the night. But as the quarter ended, the Mares rallied and the game was tied once again, 25-25, setting the stage for Solanco’s takeover. ADVERTISER - Lampeter-Strasburg Edition 16 in the first quarter, L-S started to pull away with a 14-9 second quarter and extended the advantage to 51-37 with eight minutes left. Both teams exploded at the offensive end in the fourth quarter with Eastern netting 29 points and holding L-S to 24 but it wasn’t enough to take the lead or the win. Stoltzfus, the recipient of some unselfish passing, converted in the paint and tied for game-high honors with a career and season-high 20 points. Broderick scorched the nets in the third quarter, draining four of his five treys on the night. He finished with 19 points. Holmes and Beers also hit for double figures with 14 and 11 respectively. “Chase gave us the cushion we needed,” said Berryman. Saturday, as part of the L-L vs. Berks Showdown, the Pioneers, with a season and career-high 20 points from Beers, knocked off Governor Mifflin 49-38. Beers connected on 9-of-11 free throws and netted 8 of his total points in the fourth quarter. Holmes (10), Getchis, Stoltzfus and Zach Kingsley all with 8, and Broderick (3) also contributed. “It’s all about five guys playing as one,” said Berryman of Lampeter’s 11th straight win. WRESTLING The Pioneers kept pace with Manheim Central and, with a 54-18 crushing of Cedar Crest last Wednesday, Jan. 9, remained at the top of the Section Two standings with a 4-0 record. The Barons dominated Elizabethtown 57-17. The short-handed Falcons forfeited four bouts and were pinned just as many times, accounting for 48 of Lampeter’s 57 total points. But it was the home team that opened the scoring when Nick Stout worked a 9-4 decision over Zach Shelley at 285. L-S, however, went in front for good with Austin Reiff’s 26 second pinfall over Sam Smith (106). Hunter Erb padded the lead when he put Bailey Pennypacker to his back 32 seconds into the third period of the 113 bout. “Good to get those bonus points,” said head coach Brad Heeter. “Both Austin and Hunter wrestled well, fine tuning their technique.” After Crest’s forfeit at 120, Photo by Mona Steinhauer Arik Harnish pulled out a 9-8 Photo by Mona Steinhauer Lampeter-Strasburg’s Emma Drouillard battles Solanco’s thriller over Taylor Gehman (126) Emma Gochnauer brings the ball up the court for the Pioneers Jenna Dombach for a rebound during a Section Three clash in and Andrew Bliss (132) with a during their Section Three game at Solanco last Tuesday. Don Sweigart, with the only 200-plus game of the day (214) followed with a 469 while Stephanie Mays’ 400 series left her in third. Steve Shepherd (396) and Sawyer Lancaster (343) rounded out the top five. The going against Cocalico was a bit tougher. The Eagles earned four of the top five scores en route to the shutout. Cox, with a 213-169-185 led the Pioneers with a 567 series, just one pin shy of the second highest score. Cocalico’s KC Miller nipped Cox with a 568. Sweigart was Lampeter’s second highest roller with a 418. BOYS’ BASKETBALL The boys’ basketball team went three up, three down last week, topping Solanco, Eastern York and Governor Mifflin to improve to 6-0 in Section Three and 12-1 overall.
10-6 second quarter run, knocking down seven of her game-high 17. A 14-5 third quarter run proved to be the turning point as the hosts grabbed their biggest lead of the day, 34-21. The Pioneers were without a field goal in the fourth quarter but canned 9-of-14 free throws to stay in front. “Brittney was out with a concussion suffered against Kennard-Dale,” noted Fink. “But the young girls and Emma stepped up. We also played defense today and limited turnovers.” Drouillard picked up 8 points, and Holmes netted 7 to help lead the way. BOWLING At Rocky Springs last Monday, Jan. 7, the bowling team earned a 7-0 victory over Section Four’s Lancaster Mennonite and two days later suffered similar fate against Section Two leader Cocalico. They currently sit in third place with a 21-21 record.

The hosts came back with a fall at 138 but Brady Cunningham (145) matched that effort with a 4:52 fall over Brett Walsh and Hector Colon followed with a hard-fought 3-1 decision over Dylan Styver. “Tied in the third period, Hector scored a takedown with two seconds left to secure the win,” Heeter recalled. “He is improving each match.” The Falcons picked up their third win of the night, a fall at 160, cutting the lead to 36-15. Three straight forfeits, however, determined the outcome. The Pioneers competed in the Dutchman Duals on Saturday where they finished with a 4-1 record. They dropped their opening match to Penn Manor, 34-33, but came back to defeat Kennard-Dale 81-0, West York 76-0, East Pennsboro 66-9 and Middletown with a come-from-behind 48-24 final. Trailing 21-6, Colon, Connor Penry, Phenegar, Shelley and Reiff all recorded falls to help fuel the comeback.

“We have a good streak going at the moment,” said head coach Ed Berryman. “They’ve been consistent in taking care of the ball and they play unselfishly. They don’t care who scores.” The Pioneers handled Solanco at home Tuesday, Jan. 8, 53-36 before grabbing a pair of non-league wins. L-S used a strong 31-9 first half to take control. Solanco regrouped in the third frame, outscoring the hosts 18-13 but it wasn’t enough. Seth Beers dropped in a game-high 13 points but it was a balanced effort, with 10 different players scoring, that got the job done. Chase Broderick 9, Adam Stoltzfus 8, Zach Kingsley 5, Caleb Smoker 5, Patrick Holmes 4, Darin Landis 3, Jarred Getchis 2, Nevin Book 2 and Aaron Rockensock 2 all contributed to the point total. Olivia Vranich added six. “They’re legit,” said Fink. “We turned it over five time in the first quarter and were down 10. After that, we played even.” Holmes, Zameroski and Martin all dropped in triples, and Emma Drouillard, Annabeth Groff and Haley Phenegar combined for five points. Sieglitz Named To Manage Partnership The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) has named Brenda Sieglitz to manage the Keystone 10 Million Trees Partnership, one of Pennsylvania’s efforts to restore and protect its rivers and streams by planting 10 million trees by the end of 2025. The Keystone 10 Million Trees Partnership is a collaborative effort, coordinated by CBF, of national, regional, state, and local agencies, conservation organizations, watershed groups, conservancies, outdoors enthusiasts, businesses, and individuals dedicated to planting trees to improve the condition of Pennsylvania waters. Trees clean and protect waterways, including drinking water sources, by filtering and absorbing polluted runoff, stabilizing stream banks, and improving soil quality. Simultaneously, they help cleanse the air of harmful contaminants and beautify communities. As the Keystone 10 Million Trees Partnership manager,
Sieglitz will help ensure the success of the Partnership by synchronizing creative strategies that serve and diversify the partners, funders, agencies, and other priority audiences. Working closely with CBF’s Making History Campaign team, Sieglitz will also serve as the key internal point person to ensure the Partnership activities are coordinated and communicated. For more than a decade, Sieglitz worked in the private sector, where she has focused on project management, business development initiatives, sales, and marketing. During that time, she created and led multiple marketing and other events centered on public-private partnerships, including leading the development and launch for a biodegradable food service disposables line in the MidAtlantic region. She resides in Mount Joy and is co-chair of Lancaster County Conservancy’s Riverlands Trail Festival. She has held leadership and
mentor roles with the Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce, Team Sarcoma Keepin’ it Kevin, and the National Parks Service. She is also a certified Pennsylvania Master Naturalist.

Ice Harvesting Exhibit Opens Columbia Crossing River Trails Center, 41 Walnut St., Columbia, invites to public to view “Ice Harvesting Along the Susquehanna,” an immersive exhibit about the ice harvesting industry. Prior to refrigeration, homes and commercial businesses required ice to keep food cold. A worldwide industry was created to collect ice from frozen rivers, ponds, and lakes and ship it by wagon and rail to be sold. Pennsylvania ranked third in the nation for ice production behind only Maine and New York. Locally, Columbia had at least three ice houses that kept residents supplied with ice for their homes. Deliveries of ice were brought by the “ice man” to homes on a regular basis. The exhibit follows the ice from the river to the kitchen. It features a wide variety of objects, including ice harvesting tools such as drills, saws, and plows. Antique ice boxes, ice shavers, ice crushers, and other memorabilia
are also on view. The exhibit was designed and installed by Susquehanna Heritage, which manages the building for the Borough of Columbia. Objects and content development was led by local historian Lynn Smoker. Smoker will present a Talk With the Collector in the exhibit hall on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 6:30 p.m. Smoker will discuss the ice harvesting industry and his collection. Complimentary refreshments will be available. There is a suggested donation per person. To make reservations, readers may visit www.susquehanna heritage.org/events. Mini tours of the exhibit will be available beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Sundays, Jan. 27, Feb. 3 and Feb. 17. Susquehanna Heritage staff will lead the 20- to 30-minute tours. Guides will showcase important objects, provide in-depth information,
and answer questions. Susquehanna Heritage is one of 12 state-designated heritage areas in Pennsylvania working to highlight important local history and spark economic development through heritage and ecotourism. The organization’s focus on the Susquehanna’s history is brought to life in this new exhibit at Columbia Crossing. The exhibit is free, but donations are appreciated to help operate the center and provide educational programs. Columbia Crossing River Trails Center is open on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. “Ice Harvesting Along the Susquehanna” will remain on display through Sunday, March 31. For more information, readers may contact Susquehanna Heritage’s Columbia Crossing manager, Hope Byers, at 717-449-5607, ext. 1, or hbyers@susquehannaheritage.org.

Frozen Foot Race Series Enters 30th Year By Chelsea Peifer
The Frozen Foot 5K and 10K Race Series is back for its 30th year. The three-race series will kick off on Sunday, Jan. 20, at Elizabethtown College, 1 Alpha Drive, Elizabethtown. Participants who complete all three races will now have the opportunity to collect a unique set of finishers’ medals. “This is the first year that we’ve added finishers’ medals,” explained race director Chuck Wells. “If you finish all three races, you’ll be able to build yourself a snowman (out of the medals).” The races are set to begin at 2 p.m. on Sundays, Jan. 20, Feb. 17, and March 17, on the campus of Elizabethtown College. Each of the three races will follow the same rolling route through a neighboring development and around the college campus. Wells noted that the Idiots Option 10K, which was added for the first time in 2017, was a success and will be available again for those looking to complete a longer distance by covering the 5K course twice. The name sparked from a conversation Wells had in the past with two participants: One suggested the addition of a 10K, while the other remarked, “What kind of idiot would do that?” Interested individuals may register for the 5K or 10K series at
www.appliedracemgmt.com/events . Those who register for the series by the first race will receive a custom long-sleeve tech shirt. On-site registration will also be available prior to each race. Race packet pickup will take place on race days between noon and 1:45 p.m. in the Bucher Meetinghouse at Elizabethtown College. Signage will be posted directing participants to the area. Following each race, hot homemade soup will be served. Awards will be presented at approximately 3:15 p.m. Participants will also be entered to win door prize giveaways. Individual event awards will be bestowed upon the overall male and female winners, the masters male and female winners, and the first-, second- and third-place male and female winners for each five-year age group. Series awards, which will be presented at a ceremony at Funk Brewing, 28 S. Market St., Elizabethtown, on March 17, will include prize money for the overall male and female winners and the masters male and female winners. Additional prizes will be distributed to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Special discounts will be available at Funk Brewing to Frozen Foot participants following each race. Through the decades, Wells said that the number of runners has
McNeal To Oversee Youth Protection Programs A retired police captain who ran the Megan’s Law Section of the Pennsylvania State Police will run the Roman Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg’s Safe Environment program. Retired Capt. Janet A. McNeal, through her firm Law and Grace Consulting, will review the Diocese’s current youth protection programs, develop programs and policies to make any needed improvements, and serve as the Diocese’s Safe Environment coordinator. McNeal brings 26 years of law enforcement investigative and policy development experience to this position. She has a three-year contract with the Diocese and will operate independently, reporting her recommendations directly to Bishop Ronald W. Gainer. McNeal has been granted complete access to all the Diocese’s records. In addition to reviewing every clergy child abuse case reported to the Diocese, including all previous reports, McNeal will meet with survivors to hear their stories and determine what stage they are at in the healing process. McNeal will also work with parish pastors/administrators, parish staff, school administrators/principals, and appropriate Diocesan department heads to ensure that all adults who come in contact with minors are effectively screened and trained according to the Diocese’s regulations, policies, and procedures. She will also ensure that children in the Diocese’s Catholic schools and religious education programs participate in the
Janet A. McNeal required Safe Environment training program. During her 26 years with the State Police, McNeal was assigned as the chief administrator for the Megan’s Law Sexual Offender Registry for the entire state of Pennsylvania. In this role, she oversaw the entire operations for this department, including developing policies and procedures, developing a plan to automate the offender registration process, and overseeing the development of the offender website. McNeal has also served on crisis response teams and ecumenical task forces for the United Methodist Church and is a licensed private investigator. The 30th annual Frozen Foot 5K and 10K Race Series will offer three Sunday afternoon races at Elizabethtown College on Jan. 20, Feb. 17, and March 17. New for 2019 is the addition of finishers’ medals for those who complete all three races. fluctuated - perhaps due to the influx of 5K events in recent years. The inaugural Frozen Foot series had 16 runners and later grew to more than 800 participants one year; however, in recent years Wells said the event has averaged about 375 participants. “I don’t know that any of us that worked on (Frozen Foot) in the beginning thought that it would be around this long,” said Wells. “It’s great. I’m happy that the race has been around that long.”
A portion of the race proceeds benefits the Christ Church United Church of Christ mission fund to help people domestically and abroad. Wells said that the destination for this summer’s service project has not yet been finalized but will likely be somewhere within the United States. Each year, officers select a first responder from the community currently battling cancer or an organization providing care to those battling cancer. This year’s Beards for Brothers campaign raised money for Officer Wendell Metzler of New Holland Borough Police Department, a 25-year veteran of law enforcement, a volunteer firefighter, and a emergency medical technician. In June, he was diagnosed with stage four melanoma. Metzler has undergone numerous radiation treatments and is currently receiving immunotherapy treatments
to battle the disease. Faulkner Chevrolet employees also joined representatives from the departments, including Akron Borough, Columbia Borough, East Cocalico Township, East Hempfield Township, Elizabethtown Borough, Lititz Borough, Lancaster City, Lancaster County Park Rangers, Manheim Borough, Manor Township, Millersville University, New Holland Borough, Southern Regional, Strasburg Borough, West Hempfield Township, West Lampeter Township, and Quarryville Borough, along with volunteer firefighters, EMS, and dispatchers from Lancaster County, joined to raise funds for Metzler and his family. For more details, readers may contact Eileen Culp at 717723-5240 or eculp@faulkner chevrolet.com.
