Homeschool Players To Stage “Tinker Bell” BY FRANCINE FULTON

After not presenting a play in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic, the Community Homeschool Players will return to the stage to perform “Tinker Bell” at Conestoga Mennonite Church, 2779 Main St. (Route 23), Morgantown, on Friday, April 8, at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, April 9, at 2 and 7 p.m.

Tickets will be available at the door. Directing this year’s play is 2020 Community Homeschool graduate Seerena Peterson; the assistant director is her brother, Kyle. Seerena was a cast member in the 2019 production of “Gladys in Wonderland,” and Seerena and Kyle also appeared in the homeschoolers’ version of “Cinderella” in 2018. Seerena played the title role. area of the store dedicated to an ongoing silent auction. All proceeds benefit Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), a Christian relief organization. “We opened on April 7, 1997, in a stone building across (Route 23) from the Windmill,” explained store manager Jen Leighton, noting that the original building is now a private residence. “We moved to this location - the original Conestoga Mennonite Church - in August of 2003.” The store was renovated in 2010 to include more sales space. “The back of the store is where we did processing, and we wanted to make that all sales floor,” Leighton said. “Now, the whole downstairs - the whole length of the building - is for sorting and processing donations.” During the pandemic when the store was closed, the sales floor was reconfigured, and the checkout stand was relocated. “During the COVID shutdown, (we) moved things around so that when we reopened, we had more clear aisles and we could keep the 6-feet distance and our cashiers would be behind glass,” Leighton said.

The 10th annual Ryerss Run for the Horses, which will include a 10K run, a 5K run and a 1-mile walk, will be held on Saturday, April 9, at Ryerss Farm, 1710 Ridge Road, Pottstown. Check-in will begin at 11:30 a.m., and the race and walk will start at 1 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the retired and rescued horses that reside at the farm.

The runs and walk will take participants along a crosscountry course throughout the farm, through fields and around pastures. Runners in the 5K and 10K will be electronically timed. Winners in various age divisions will receive medals. “The walkers ... will walk a 1-mile route that is closer to the farm. County Receives Performance Management Award Chester County government has again been recognized nationally for its leadership in performance management. The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) recently bestowed a 2021 Certificate of Achievement on Chester County, noting the data-driven management and reporting efforts established through the county’s Managing for Results process. Managing for Results gives county departments and staff members a formula for determining how their work, actions and behavior support the overall strategic direction of the county, and its key focus is to ensure accountability and transparency in Chester County government for the residents of the county. Managing for Results was instated more than 12 years ago, and data are collected and reported by Stephanie Rogers, Chester County’s management data project manager, and her team,

noted Bobby Kagel, county administrator. Chester County is among 13 jurisdictions across the nation to receive the Certificate of Achievement for 2021. It is the only jurisdiction in Pennsylvania to be recognized and is one of just 56 recognized by ICMA across North America. The ICMA Certificate of

Achievement is awarded to cities and counties based on data that has been collected and verified. The data is intended to ensure reliability, is used to train staff in performance measurement, and is reported to the public through budgets, newsletters, and information provided to elected officials.

“Tinker Bell,” written by Patrick Flynn and based on J. M. Barrie’s play, “Peter Pan,” features well-known characters like Peter Pan and Wendy, and it is set in Neverland. “It’s (the story of) Peter Pan, but from Tinker Bell’s point of view,” said producer Becky Stratton. Seerena chose the play as this year’s production. “I had the kids in mind, and I wanted to do fantasy again with starting up after two years of not doing any plays,” said Seerena. Stratton noted that the spring play usually features only high-schoolers, but this year, seventh- and eighthgraders have been added to the cast. In addition, the students watched the movie version of “Peter Pan” to prepare for their roles. “We have a lot of students who did not do a play before,” Seerena noted. “We had to start from scratch.” “There was no momentum to build on from last year,” added Stratton. Starring as Tinker Bell is Kayla Brown, who said she

was familiar with Disney’s version of “Peter Pan.” “I knew it from growing up but never from Tinker Bell’s perspective. It’s really unique and cool that way,” she said. “I feel like it puts on a different spin (that would be appreciated) by little girls. Tinker Bell is sassy, and it comes natural to me.” In addition to Kayla, other cast members include Dylan Frohlich as Peter Pan, Carisa Petersen as Mrs. Smee, Jesse Burkholder as Captain James Hook, Alyssa McCaffrey as

Trained teachers work with the students in dance, movement, and artwork. The camp will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. from Monday, Aug. 1, through Friday, Aug. 5, and a performance will be given at 6 p.m. on Aug. 5. “This has been a tremendous

program,” said Dienner of Camp Create. According to Dienner, each camp includes activities designed to help students find their own identity. “The strength of Cavod is believing in each person and pulling out their God-given gifts and talents,” she noted. Individuals who wish to register for the camps may do so by visiting https:// cavod.org. Readers who have questions may call 717-354-3355.

The camp will run on weekdays from July 11 to Friday, July 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Cavod Theatre, 641 W. Main St., New Holland. Performance of the show, which will be open to the public, will be held on Saturday, July 23, and Sunday, July 24, at 2 and 7 p.m. each day. Tickets will be necessary to attend. “Remember America” To Emphasize Education “The mission (of Remember America) is to remind Americans of their unique heritage of liberty that was founded upon biblical principles,” said Dayspring Christian Academy events manager Lisa Becker. “Our hearts first need to be turned to the Lord, and that personal revival extends from us to our family to our community to our state to our nation.” The 2022 Remember America Speaker Series will feature Turning Point USA president and founder Charlie Kirk as the keynote speaker. This year’s presentation, which will include chorale performances and an orator, will be held at the Lancaster County Convention Center, 25 S. Queen St., Lancaster, on Saturday, April

23. The dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The keynote speech, which will begin at 7:15 p.m., will be followed by a brief question and answer period. Kirk, an activist and radio show host, founded Turning Point USA with Bill Montgomery in 2012, and he currently serves as CEO of Turning Point Action and Turning Point Faith. Turning Point USA is a nonprofit organization with chapters promoting conservative values on high school, college, and university campuses. Dayspring headmaster Dan Stone said that organizers have been hoping to have Kirk participate in Remember America. “As I was praying through our short list (of speakers) … I felt education is prominent in people’s thinking right now,” said Stone.

“It’s a great time to highlight how education is such an important part of what our country is going through.” Stone noted that it seemed natural to choose Kirk to speak on the importance of education in restoring the country to biblical values. The theme of this year’s event is “Faith. Courage. Liberty.” “It starts with faith (because) in today’s world, Christians are being put in a position where they will choose to be courageous or not,” said Stone. We are calling people to choose courage, and liberty will be the result.” Becker agreed, noting that the theme reflects the study of the country’s foundation, which is at the heart of Remember America. “We are reminding people (that) the founding documents of our

UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT ISSUED COINS SEALED IN EACH BAG:

Silver Morgan Dollar 1878-1921

Q PENNSYLVANIA AREA RESIDENTS CASH IN: It’s hard to tell how much these unsearched Vault Bags loaded with rarely seen Gov’t issued coins that everyone will be trying to get could be worth someday. That’s because each Vault Bag is known to contain nearly 3 pounds of Gov’t issued coins some dating back to the 1800’s including all those shown in today’s publication. In addition, after each bag is loaded with over 200 rarely seen coins, each verified to meet a minimum collector grade of very good or above, the dates and mint marks are never searched to determine collector values. So you better believe at just $980 these unsearched Vault Bags are a real steal. Silver Liberty Head 1892-1915

“The vaults at Federated Mint are going empty,” said Laura A. Lynne, Director of Coin and Currency for Federated Mint. That’s because a decision by Federated Mint to release rarely seen U.S. Gov’t issued coins, some worth up to 50 times their face value, means unsearched Vault Bags loaded with U. S. Gov’t issued coins dating back to the 1800’s are now being handed over to U.S. residents who find the first three digits of their zip code listed in today’s publication. “But don’t thank the Government. As Director of Coin and Currency for Federated Mint, I get paid to inform and educate the general public regarding U.S. coins. Ever since the decision by Federated Mint to release rarely seen Gov’t issued coins to the general public — I’m being asked how much are the unsearched Vault Bags worth? The answer is, there’s no way to tell. Coin values always fluctuate and there

are never any guarantees, but we do know this. Each unsearched bag weighs nearly 3 pounds and is known to contain rarely seen Morgan Silver Dollars and these coins alone could be worth $40 - $325 in collector value each according to The Official Red Book, a Guide Book of United States Coins. So there’s no telling what you’ll find until you search through all the coins. But you better believe at just $980 these unsearched Vault Bags are a steal, “said Lynne. “These are not ordinary coins you find in your pocket change. These are rarely seen silver, scarce, collectible and non-circulating U.S. coins dating back to the 1800’s so we won’t be surprised if thousands of U.S. residents claim as many as they can get their hands on. That’s because after the bags were loaded with nearly 3 pounds of Gov’t issued coins, each verified to meet a minimum collector grade quality of very good or above, the dates and mint marks were never searched to determine collector values and the bags were securely sealed. That means there’s no telling what you’ll find until you search all the coins,” said Lynne. The only thing U.S. residents who find their zip code printed in today’s publication need to do is call the National Toll-Free Hotline before the 48-hour deadline ends. This is very important. After the Vault Bags were loaded with over 200 Gov’t issued coins, each verified to meet a minimum collector grade quality of very good or above, the dates and mint marks were never searched to determine collector values. The Vault Bag fee has been set for $1,500 for residents who miss the 48-hour deadline, but for those U.S. residents who beat the 48-hour deadline the Vault Bag fee is just $980 as long as they call the National Toll-Free Hotline before the deadline ends. “Remember this, we cannot stop collectors from buying up all the unsearched bags of coins they can get in this special advertising announcement. And you better believe with each bag being loaded with nearly 3 pounds of Gov’t issued coins we’re guessing they’re going to go quick,” said Lynne. The phone lines will be ringing off the hook beginning at precisely 8:30 a.m. this morning. That’s because each unsearched Vault Bag is loaded with the rarely seen coins pictured left and highly sought after

Q UNSEARCHED: Pictured above are the unsearched Vault Bags being handed over to Pennsylvania residents who call the National Toll-Free Hotline before the 48-hour deadline ends. And here’s the best part. Each Vault Bag is loaded with over 200 Gov’t issued coins, including all the coins pictured in today’s publication, some dating back to the 1800’s and worth up to 50 times their face value. Each coin is verified to meet a minimum collector grade of very good or above before the bags are securely sealed and the dates and mint marks are never searched by Federated Mint to determine collector value. collector coins dating clear back to the 1800’s including iconic Morgan Silver Dollars, a historic Peace Silver Dollar, stunning Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars, the collectible Silver Eisenhower Dollars, spectacular Silver Liberty Head Half and Quarter Dollars, rarely seen Silver Franklin Half Dollars, high demand President Kennedy Silver Half Dollars, beautiful Silver Standing Liberty Quarter Dollars, American Bicentennial Quarters, rare Liberty V Nickels, one cent Historic Wheat Coins including 1943 “Steel Cents”, one of the beautiful Winged Liberty Head Dimes, scarce Indian Head one cent U.S. coins and the

last ever minted Buffalo Nickels. “With all these collectible Gov’t Issued coins up for grabs we’re going to do our best to answer all the calls,” said Lynne. Thousands of U.S. residents stand to miss the deadline to claim the U.S. Gov’t issued coins. That means U.S. residents who find the first three digits of their zip code listed in today’s publication can claim the unsearched bags of money for themselves and keep all the U.S. Gov’t issued coins found inside.
