OWNERSHIP

1. All market lambs must be owned by JULY 1 of current year. All breeding sheep must be owned by JULY 15 of current year. Market lambs sold at previous livestock shows and sales after JULY 1 MAY NOT be entered as a sale or non-sale lamb, and after JULY 15 MAY NOT be entered as a breeding sheep. 2. Each exhibitor may not show more than four market lambs (2 sale & 2 non-sale). Market lambs must be slick-shorn and are recommended to weigh between 100-150 lbs. 3. All sheep must be in the care of the FFA or 4-H exhibitor. Each member is to provide feed, trough, water bucket and have entire charge of his or her animal(s). 4. Only three breeding sheep per class per exhibitor. 5. Total of 8 sheep per exhibitor including breeding sheep and sale/non-sale lambs. 6. ALL ANIMALS (OTHER THAN SALE LAMBS) MUST BE REMOVED AFTER THE SHOWMAN OF SHOWMAN

CONTEST AND BEFORE 7PM.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:

1. Identification - Purebred animals must be identified by registry name and number, corresponding to the ear tag or tattoo number. Grade animals must be identified by farm-flock number, corresponding to the ear tag or tattoo number. 2. Flock inspection - Flocks must be examined anytime after May 1. The veterinarian who has examined the entries and the flocks from which they come must certify on the health certificate that he has found no evidence of transmissible disease and to the best of his knowledge, no exposure thereto, and are not subject to any quarantine restrictions. Breeding sheep are required to have rabies vaccine. 3. IMPORTANT RULE - Certification by owner and an accredited veterinarian that the identified animal(s) is (is not) known to have been exposed to scrapie. 4. NEW RULE - All sheep must bear official USDA/APHIS eartag to be exhibited at the show. Sheep from flocks on the Voluntary Scrapie Program must bear the official eartag, tattoo, or electronicear implant. 5. REGISTRATION PAPERS MUST ACCOMPANY ALL BREEDING SHEEP, EXCEPT CROSS BRED CLASS. 6. Any person helping to show must be a current exhibitor.
