SIX FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT UNFILED TAX RETURNS everal taxpayers have not filed taxes for nearly a decade. In fact, some have never filed their taxes. MELBOURNE (UPI) - An Australian man said he is aiming for a Guinness World Record by having every character from The Simpsons tattooed on his back. Michael Baxter, 60, a grandfather and prison warden from Barwon, said at the Australian Tattoo and Body Art exhibition in Melbourne he is hoping to obtain a Guinness record with the Simpsons col-
lage inked on his back by Bacchus Marsh tattoo artist Jade Baxter-Smith. The full back tattoo includes 203 characters spanning the 20-year history of the animated series. Baxter said the record he is seeking is for “most tattoos of the same cartoon character tattooed on the body,” but Guinness officials told him his tattoo would be eligible because all of the characters are from the same show. Baxter, whose other tattoos include scheming baby Stewie

The record bid pits Baxter against fellow “Simpsons” super-fan Lee Weir of New Zealand, who obtained the Guinness record earlier this year with 41 tattoos of cartoon family patriarch Homer Simpson. Simpsons writer David Mirkin tweeted he was impressed with Baxter’s tattoo. “Truly a lovely tribute. We will,

of course, have to sue him and confiscate his back,” Mirkin tweeted. MIAMI (UPI) - Federal prosecutors said a for-profit college in Florida hired “exotic dancers” to work as “admissions representatives” to attract young men to the school. The U.S. attorney’s office and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who joined a whistle-blower
lawsuit against Miami-based FastTrain College, said in a civil complaint at least one of the school’s now-closed seven campuses used strippers as “admissions representatives.” The college “purposely hired attractive women and sometimes exotic dancers and encouraged them to dress provocatively while they recruited young men in neighborhoods to attend FastTrain,” the complaint states. The whistle-blower lawsuit was originally filed by Juan Pena, a former admissions employee at the Plantation campus and the Flagler campus. The school’s campuses were shut down in 2012 following a raid by the FBI. Alejandro Amor, chief executive officer of the company, was indicted in October on criminal charges of conspiracy and theft of government money. Federal authorities said the school received more than $35 million in Pell grants and other federal financial aid between 2009 and 2012, and they allege the school obtained a large amount of grant money through fraudulent means including falsifying high school diplomas for ineligible students.

Phillip LeClerc, 60, of Weymouth, said he bought the desk for $40 on Nov. 19 at a Kelley Auctions sale and he went searching through the desk’s many compartments when a knob came loose from a small drawer and fell off. (UPI) - A woman and her pot-bellied pig were booted off a Washington, D.C.-bound plane after passengers complained the pig was disruptive and stinky. The pig, thought to be about 70 pounds, had been brought aboard the US Airways plane at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut as an emotionalsupport animal. Crew members determined the animal was too disruptive and asked the woman to leave with the pig before the flight departed. Some people aboard the plane thought the woman was carrying a large duffle bag over her shoulder. “But it turns out it wasn’t a duffel bag. We could smell it and it was a pig on a

Christian Poincheval says the pills are made of 100 percent natural ingredients and have been approved by health authorities. For this year’s festive season he has added a new product to the range which he has titled “The Father Christmas fart pill that gives your farts the scent of chocolate.” Mr. Poincheval said he came up with the idea for the pills one evening when he was enjoying a hearty meal with some friends. “Our farts were so smelly we were nearly suffocated. Something had to be done,” he said. So he began researching natural ingredients that would reduce flatulence and after months of experimentation came up with the recipe for his pills. He has been selling the pills since 2006 and says he sells several hundred a month.

Sam Cooke was shot and killed in a Los Angeles motel. According to court testimony, Cooke picked up a 22 year old woman named Elisa Boyer at a party. He promised her a ride home but they ended up at a motel. Boyer claims Cooke forced her into the motel room and began ripping her clothes off. She managed to escape while he was in the bathroom. While she called police from a phone booth, Cooke began pounding on the office door of the motel’s manager, Bertha Franklin. He demanded to know where the girl was and allegedly broke the door open. Cooke reportedly attacked Franklin, who then shot him three times. By the time the police arrived, Sam Cooke was dead. A jury would later return a verdict of justifiable homicide. His death came just three days after he recorded his only number one hit, “(Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay”. Four teen-aged members of his back-up group, The Bar-Kays, also perished. Only 20 year old trumpeter Ben Cauley, who was sitting directly behind Redding on the plane, survived. Oddly enough, the song was recorded in just 10 minutes and started out as a B-side. His follow-ups, “Dance The Kung Fu” and “Blue Eyed Soul” would be a total flops and Douglas would be relegated to “onehit-wonder” status. After leaving the music business, he started a publishing company that co-ordinates films, documentaries and advertisements. Barry Manilow’s first hit, “Mandy”, enters the US charts on its way to number one. After approaching the former Beatle and calling his name, Chapman dropped into a combat stance and shot John in his chest, back and left arm. RRU UM MOOUURR HHAASS IITT… … …More than three years after his death, legendary Apple Inc. CEO SSttee vvee JJoobbss held a federal courtroom transfixed on Friday as attorneys played a video of his testimony in a class-action lawsuit that accuses Apple of inflating prices by locking music lovers into using Apple’s iPod players. Looking gaunt and pale, JJoobbss spoke softly during the deposition he gave six months before his death in October 2011. But he gave a firm defense of Apple’s software, which blocked music from services that competed with Apple’s iTunes store. “We were very scared” of the prospect that hackers could break Apple’s security system, JJoobbss said, because that might jeopardize Apple’s contracts with music recording companies that didn’t want their songs to be pirated. “We would get nasty emails from the labels,” he added. The video wasn’t released Friday following its viewing in court. But JJoobbss didn’t seem cowed by the record labels in an email, read by an attorney for the plaintiffs, in which the Apple CEO demanded that a record company executive publicly apologize for praising rival RealNetworks for producing software that would make songs
from the RealNetworks store play on Apple’s iPods. Dressed in his trademark black turtleneck and blue jeans, JJoobbss appeared impatient at times and swiveled in his chair during the session, which was recorded at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. He said he didn’t remember why he was upset with the recording executive. But he acknowledged that he had proposed language for an Apple press release that condemned RealNetworks as a “hacker.”

Falcons Rally Falls Just Short
Sure, the Atlanta Falcons lost Monday night to the Green Bay Packers 43-37. But you know what? I don’t feel that bad. The Falcons are still in first place and they were in this game until the final minute. Minus the second quarter meltdown when they gave up 24 unanswered points the Falcons gave the Packers fits and maybe opened a few eyes that they’re not as bad as many so-called critics and sports talking heads like to say. And if by any chance if Arthur Blank is reading this – don not fire Mike Smith. The past two seasons have been tough but they haven’t been the coach’s fault. There are very few coaches I like in the NFL – few for any sport at any level any more to be honest. Al coaches now are like hired guns in to make a quick win and get out of Dodge with the most amount of money and on to the next team. A hired assassin, so to speak. Granted there have been a lot of bad coaches, but part of the downward spiral of the Miami Dolphins I feel was the forced retirement of Shula after the 1995 season after 25 years – 23 non-losing seasons to boot. They hadn’t been to the Super Bowl since 1984 but even in Shula’s last couple of seasons they were a lot closer to the big game than the team has been under the five coaches they’ve had since Shula went off into the sunset. And I feel Blank is going in the same direction as the Dolphins and just about every other NFL team except the Patriots. He is succumbing to pressure of media members who know nothing other than studying game tapes and fans may who have never stepped foot into the Georgia Dome and want to put their two cents in. jeopardy, they surely began to wonder. Smith hasn’t lost the team like other NFL coaches this year. Julio Jones had another career day and set a new franchise record for receiving yards topping teammate Roddy White’s old record. Jones hauled in 11 Ryan passes for a franchise best 259 yards and one touchdown. This total included a 79 yard reception that didn’t end up with Jones crossing the goal line. “When Julio is healthy and when he and Matt (Ryan) are in tune with one another, they are as good as any in the NFL. He is as good as anyone in the NFL. He is hard to cover, he has great speed, and he has great hands. He is an elite wide receiver. He is one of the best, if not the best in the NFL,” said coach Smith.

Cowboys Run Over Bears
The Dallas Cowboys set the stage for a winner take all meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday with a resounding 41-28 victory over the Chicago Bears in a game that turned out to be much closer than the final score indicated. Running back DeMarco Murray unleashed his inner beast to the tune of 179 yards on 32 carries for his best game of the year. This contest was a reversal of fortune for the Cowboys performance a week earlier when the Eagles held the league’s leading rusher to a season low 73 yards. While Murray was busy on the ground, quarterback Tony Romo was just as effective in the air. He was 21 of 26 passes for 205 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. The first quarter was a wash for both teams as neither was able to establish any type of offensive rhythm. The second period was a
different story. Facing a fourth and one at the Chicago 13 early into the second quarter, the Cowboys sent Murray off the right side of the line for four yards. The Bears defense stiffened, and once again Dallas faced a fourth and one at the goal line. Murray was called on once again and responded with his eighth TD of the year. The fourth down calls were indicative of the importance Head Coach Jason Garrett and the Cowboy organization itself, placed on this game. Chicago wasn’t fazed by the urgency the team placed on this contest. Led by quarterback Jay Cutler, who had never lost to the Cowboys, the Bears marched 80 yards downfield including a spectacular 42-yard juggling catch by wide receiver Brandon Marshall. Quarterback Jay Cutler ended the drive when he found former Cowboy tight end Martellus Bennett in the end zone for a 13yard score. ENIGMA
The Cowboys next possession turned into the Dez and DeMarco show as both Bryant and Murray took turns driving the team downfield. Tight end Jason Witten finally crashed the party with a timely 19-yard reception on third and 15. Slot receiver Cole Beasley put an exclamation point on the offensive series as he stretched the ball over the goal line for a 13-yard score with just eight seconds left in the half. Chicago returned the opening kickoff for 30 yards. On third and eight, Cutler completed a pass to Matt Forte that went for 21 yards before Dallas defensive end Anthony Spencer forced a fumble that cornerback Sterling Moore recovered and returned 17 yards to the Chicago 31. With momentum starting to shift, Romo found himself flushed from the pocket on a third and 3. He lofted the ball perfectly into the hands of Cole Beasley who once again stretched

The Bears’ running game had literally ground to a halt and without star receiver Brandon Marshall working his magic – a bruised rib injury forced him out of the game – Cutler’s air attack was almost non-existent as well. Dwayne Harris returned the ensuing punt 47 yards for a touchdown, but it was nullified when Cowboy Micah Pellerin was called for an illegal block. Undaunted, Romo connected with Dez Bryant for a 43-yard gain. Two plays later, tight end Gavin Escobar caught his only pass of the game, a six-yard TD toss. After Dan Bailey kicked the ball into the end zone, the Chicago offense returned only to fail once again at mounting any type of serious scoring threat. The Cowboys took over and basically handed the ball right back to Murray to do his

the Cowboys dominate the month November and disappear when it really counts in December. Since 2008, the team has posted a 15-9 record in September; 11-16 in October; 20-9 in November and 1015 December. The victory over the Bears ensured Dallas would have its first winning season in four years. They need to win two of their last three games to have any shot at the playoffs. Fortunately, two of those games are on the road. After two years of inactivity, defensive tackle Josh Brent saw his first game action. Brent hadn’t played a game since his DUI crash killed his best friend and teammate Jerry Brown Jr. He was convicted of intoxication manslaughter, spent three months in jail and sentenced to ten years on probation. Against the Eagles, the defense gave up a season high 256 yards on the ground. The defense limited Chicago star running back Matt Forte to 5 yards in the first half and 26 for the game. - David Huff
Titans Knocked Out Again Well that didn’t last long. The Zach Mettenberger era in Tennessee is over – at least for this year. Mettenberger left Sunday’s game against the New York Giants injuring his shoulder as officially all three quarterbacks on roster have been knocked out for at least part of the 2014 season. It doesn’t seem to matter who is under center as the results remain the same. The Titans lost their seventh straight game ending the Giants’ losing streak 36-7.
made by the defense. Of course that was one of the few bright spots for the Titan defense as Odell Beckham Jr. had a field day against the Tennessee secondary as he needed no acrobatics hauling in 11 Eli Manning passes for 130 yards and a score. The rookie receiver hit the century mark in receiving yards for the fourth time.
“Well, obviously it was a tough day today. It’s not fun, but we are working. The only thing is that our guys are trying and Yep, the Titans managed one we’ll keep working and come touchdown all day. And you out of it,” said Titan coach Ken know what? That score was Whisenhunt. ENIGMA

not his fault but with the offensive line and possibly the offensive schemes. Unlike Mettenberger Locker knows how to run for his life to avoid the massive pass rush that obviously isn’t getting blocked. Besides seeming injury prone Locker also in vulnerable to bad mistakes as he gets intercepted at the wrong time – not that there’s a good time, but they kill key drives or are returned for either a score or set one up. Maybe he will be happier next year as either a Ram, Buccaneer or Jet since his days in Tennessee are numbered. “It’s
an opportunity to go out and play with these guys that I’ve had the opportunity to compete with for four years here, and I’m excited about that, if that’s the case,” he said if he thought his time now under center was an audition for another team. There was a lot of hope for the Titans with the arrival of coach Ken Whisenhunt. It has been a nightmare. It’s not his fault. There are too many bad personnel decisions with the Titans. It has been that way since they moved from Houston but through the use of smoke and mirrors they haven’t been as evident as right now. Let us not forget that the Oilers/Titans are no NFL juggernaut. Jeff Fisher was the franchise’s most successful coach winning 54 percent of his games. That just goes to show you the Titans have never been an NFL
dynasty. “I want to say something about Ken Whisenhunt and his staff, too. Ken’s an excellent football coach. Obviously going through a firstyear process here, but he’s a good coach. And he’s staff is a good staff,” said Giants coach Tom I hope the Titans don’t have the same win now or else mentality of the Falcons. It will take a couple of years to see if Whisenhunt can build a winner. Of course better front office decisions would be helpful. The offensive line has always been an issue for Tennessee. And Mettenberger? He’s a sitting duck. Three quarterbacks on the roster and all three injured at one point in the season. Need I say any more? “It’s tough but all around we’ve got to execute better to get accomplished what we want to accomplish, myself included. The five guys on the offensive line, the receivers and backs that are in the game; just a poor job of executing today and that’s on all of us,” Mettenberger said.

Me personally, I’m a football player, so I expect myself to go out there and make plays. It felt good at the moment, because I felt like I was trying to create a spark for the team, but now just looking at it, it really didn’t do anything for the game. So it’s just another play. It’s just another play for me right now. It’s good that I finally got my first career interception out of the way, but I wish it would have come in a win,” he said.
