Dear Rocco, I dated a man a long time ago I met when I was 18. He was devoted to me in our 20’s. I was not. Due to family illness, I moved to New York to get away. He came out to visit me and asked me to move home but I would not. I started seeing other people. We dated on and off in a long distance relationship but then we both married other people. We are now in our 40s and got back in touch with each other. We have been visiting each other and have fallen back in love. He, after I asked if we could ever have a relationship, said he wanted to be friends for now -he was starting his own tax business and was very stressed the whole time I was there. Dear Rocco, My last girlfriend was in an abusive relationship before we started dating. I treat her like royalty, to be honest. She has even told me I was the best thing that has ever happened to her. Here’s the catch – her ex calls and she stops what she’s doing to go by his side. She has even broken up with me twice to go back to him only to come back with her tail between her legs. This is getting old. I love her and she knows it, but I can’t take this constantly running back to this piece or crap that treats her poorly. I’m about at the end of my rope. Should I kick her to the curb for good? PW

Fellow Singer/Songwriers and Friends Remember and Mourn The Loss of Lyrical Legend John Prine Grammy Award winning, Songwriters Hall of Fame Member John Prine passed away at age 73 due to Covid-19. Some of his most legendary hits include, “Hello in There,” “Sam Stone,” “Angel From Montgomery” and “Paradise.” Prine used these masterpieces to highlight moments that the average mind grazed over with empathetic words and light-hearted lines. Writing for big industry names such as Johnny Cash, George Strait, Don Williams, the Everly Brothers, Carl Perkins and Bette Midler, all while being a singer, author, actor and record label owner, leaves Prine with one of the most renowned legacies in music history. Prine was not only a poetic prodigy, but a friend to many in the music and entertainment

Two Heads Are Better Than One After a brief sabbatical, I’ve decided to rear my ugly head once again. With all the mish-mosh of bull I’ve seen spouted around, witnessed in my workplace and even read in these pages, it’s about time for me to make a stand. It’s about time for a man to stand up and be a man. Forget the Vagina Monologues, it’s time for the Penis Parables. Quite frankly it’s great to be a man. If you listened to all the liberal show hosts on television and radio, you’ve been brainwashed to think otherwise. I plan on telling it like it is, regardless of the repercussions. If anything, I should receive an award for admitting proudly I am a man. How many of you out there can say the same?

tribe than giving birth every nine months, and women weren’t able to handle it. Man was superior to women physically and apparently emotionally, as they were perceived as more levelheaded. In other words, girls you had your chance. And man has led the way for centuries after acquiring the top billing in the tribe. This is something; those weaker than men (some of them men, actually) have really tried hard to knock off their pedestal. But I’ve got news for you. We’re not giving up. The world is not populated by so many Phil Donahues and Woody Allens as you might think.

Now everyone wants to be equal, or take a shot at “the man”. And I mean that with a small “m”, because a capital “M” is just liberal propaganda attempting to put rifle sights on in particular, white males. If you believed everything you read, men are responsible for every act of violence, injustice and so forth that has happened in the last two millenniums. Truth being told, most of the wars, fights; scams and such were all started because of the love or trying to win the love of a woman. It’s been downhill ever since Eve hooked up with the snake at the Garden of Eden. She probably blamed Adam for not paying much attention to her. The downfall of every man - good or bad – was a woman. Anthony and Cleopatra, Rhett and Scarlett, Romeo and Juliet, Clinton and Lewinsky – the list goes on and on and on. Instead of reeling back on our heels, it’s time once again for “man” to reassert himself. Quit listening to the propaganda and get with the real program. Be a man. It’s great to wake up in the morning and scratch yourself. Playboy is fun to look at - and not just to read the articles. It’s okay to belch and salute the flag and say the pledge of allegiance. I tell you right now men, reach between your legs and give a good tug. If you come up with more than a handful of material, you’re a man and should be proud of it (disclaimer: I do know of a few lesbians that can do the just mentioned

Sure, we men may fall asleep at the opera (who doesn’t?), can’t stand to shop anywhere but a hardware or sporting goods store, don’t ask for directions, but we deserve our right place – at the top of the food chain. It’s time to go retro and celebrate all that is man. Besides, with the strides in technology, women may be obsolete. I have a buddy who told his old lady if she wasn’t cooking, cleaning or having sex with him, he didn’t need her. I agree to a degree, but maybe not so blatantly. With the strides in technology, in the near future we won’t need women. No, I don’t care about your feelings, and yes those jeans make your ass look fat – but not as much as your ass makes your ass look fat. I’ve always said as soon as they perfect cyber-sex I was through with the female species. And they are close now. The computers and the internet are wonderful things. Sex without human contact (i.e. conversation: “sure I love you”). Of course I haven’t needed technology to do that up to this point. With the advent of cloning (obvious an invention of “man”), reproduction will be a thing of the past. So women heed my warning: get your act together, or you too will go the way of the 8-track, Beta VCR and the Drive-In. And while you’re at it, get me a beer.
