Dear Rocco, My husband and I married a month ago. At the reception my mother-in-law became drunk and said many crude and uncalled for remarks. She and my husband got into a screaming match. She included me in their fight and criticized my family. I was very hurt. I am upset and my husband and I agreed not to contact her but my husband has been emailing her behind my back. She has started emailing me too and acts as if nothing happened. I asked her to stop emailing me especially since this was at my job and quite frankly I didn’t want to be bothered by her. Then she proceeded to ask what my problem was NOW. I told her in no uncertain terms to stop emailing me, but she continues. Receiving her emails disturbs me. I really want an apology for all the trouble that she has caused me. It hasn’t interfered with my marriage but it is a difficult situation for my husband. How do I make the point that I really don’t want to have anything to do with her right now. How do I deal with this situation? NW ENIGMA

Being An Artist - Why It It’s Not About the Money What is an artist, the fine artist, artisan, and a craftsman?
Craftsman-Replicates utilitarian objects as a tradesman or craftsman. Examples: carpenters build houses and tradesmen build furniture.
Artist-is an individual who creates products for commercial businesses. Two examples are graphic designers and book illustrators.
Often people use these words as they choose and not by definition. Misuse of these words cause confusion.
Fine Artist-An inherited talent to create original, visual, and beautiful objects of art for aesthetic values. Examples include oil paintings and hand sculptures.
Most important for any artist or artisan is gainful employment. Fine artists have gainful employment during prosperous economies. Their creations are original or one-ofa-kind and the price will be high. People with disposable
Artisan-independent craftsmen who create projects for both beauty and utility. Two or a carpet maker. examples are glass blowers

A Wisconsin man whose back injury led to a condition giving him 100 orgasms a day said the nearconstant arousal has ruined his life. Dale Decker, 37, of Two Rivers, said he has suffered a condition known as Persistent Genital Arousal Syndrome since he slipped a disc in his back and discovered he had five orgasms during the drive to the hospital. Decker said he has since experienced up to 100 orgasms per day, and the condition is less pleasant than it sounds. “When you’re on your knees at your father’s funeral beside his
casket, saying goodbye to him — and then you have nine orgasms right there,” he told said, “while your whole family is standing behind you. It makes you never want to have another orgasm for as long as you live.” He said doctors have thus far been unable to help him. Dr. Dena Harris, a New York gynecologist who has worked with several women suffering from PGAS, said it sounds like Decker is in serious need of medical attention. “Being aroused can be a wonderful thing, but this is not like arousal, it’s not even sexual,” Harris said. “It’s a horrendous spasm and it can be terribly painful.”

A New York homeless man said he avoids having to sleep on the pavement by getting women to take him home with them. Joe, 26, a Boston native who said his mother threw him out when she found his drug stash, said he can make up to $150 panhandling on the streets of Manhattan in a given day, but he spends most of his money on keeping up his appearances — as well as on drugs and booze. Joe said he goes home with women three to four nights a week. “I do homelessness a little differently,” Joe told Elite Daily. “I might sleep on cardboard two or three nights a week, but I literally wake up every single day and do whatever the [exple-

Breast implants can do a lot for a woman. They can give her confidence, pride, even a sense of identity, but it’s not often a breast implant saves a woman’s life. Fortunately for the woman in today’s story, that is exactly what happened... the most most bizarre way possible. A woman’s life was likely saved by her silicone breast
implants after she was shot in the chest at close range while walking down a street in Toronto, doctors have said. The 30-year-old’s left breast implant deflected the bullet away from her vital organs into the other breast, according to a case study published last week in the SAGE medical journal. The incident is one of only a handful of cases where a woman was saved by her breast implants and is believed to be the first involving silicone ones, the study said. The patient, who was not named, went to the local emergency department in the Canadian city after feeling pain in her chest and seeing blood. Surgeons found a single entry wound and retrieved a bullet from below her right breast, which police forensics later determined was a copper jacketed 0.40 caliber. They removed her implants and photographs with the study and CT scans show the bullet passed through her left implant and hit her right one. “Based on trajectory of bullet entry clinically and evaluation radiologically, the only source of bullet deflection of the bullet is
the left breast implant,” it said. “This implant overlies the heart and intrathoracic cavity and therefore likely saved the woman’s life.” Despite being shot in the chest at close range, the woman escaped relatively unscathed with a fractured rib and damaged implants. “The firearm was never recovered, and the shooter remains unknown.”
however, the police didn’t revoke the fine until the story made the local news, after which they quietly returned the money. Austin D. Heights, 24, was fleeing police after he allegedly stole snacks and beverages from a gas station while carrying a gun, according to the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). A clerk at the BP Expressway reported to law enforcement that Heights came in and stole beef jerky and something to drink while carrying a long gun in a white garbage bag, according to emergency dispatch audio. Heights took to a raft on the river, where a witness told authorities the suspect also had a sawedoff shotgun with him. About two hours after the reported theft, one officer was heard on the audio saying “shots fired,” quickly followed by “he shot and fired twice at me. I fired back twice. He’s still floating.” Heights was hit multiple times. A close friend of the family said Tuesday that Heights was mentally ill and had a fear of police.
Jaz and Garry Mott of Victoria, Australia thought it would be nice to share photos of their 2019 vacation with their Facebook friends. Unfortunately, eagle-eyed police officers spotted the photos and assumed that they’d been taken during mandatory stay-at-home orders. The couple was met at their door by police and “were handed fines of AU$1,652 each for ‘failure to comply with a direction given to a person in the exercise of a power under an authorisation given under section 199.’” The Motts had trouble convincing the police that they were in error, which is unusual because police are well-know for quickly admitting errors when presented with the facts. In this case For many Americans, their local

bar is the center or their social life. It’s where they meet friends, discuss life, relieve stress and pickle their livers. But with so many bars, pubs and brewhouses around the country closed down due to the coronavirus, millions of Americans are left without this important part of their routines. Fortunately for the residents of downtown Houston, one bar is stepping up to fill the void. Despite coronavirus closures for bars, Bovine and Barley in downtown Houston is bringing patrons frozen cocktails and other drinks straight to their doorstep with its adult ice cream truck. Yes, an adult ice cream truck. And even better, delivery is free! The truck operates from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The menu features a classic lineup of margaritas, mules, pina colada, daiquiris and other mixtures. You can place an order by texting. You must be 21 years or older and must show a valid ID at purchase. They deliver to neighborhoods in Montrose, Bellaire, Midtown, downtown, Washington and the Heights.

Behind the Wall of Sleep I have vague recollections of the slumber patterns of my high school years. Back then, sleep was something you did when you couldn’t find anything funner to do. I remember staying up to watch midnight movies. “Mid flicks.” This was in the precable days, so selections were limited. Now I see my former ankle-biters going through the familiar sleep avoidance phases of adolescence, but with far more (if not much better) viewing options. They especially like to stay up way late on Friday nights, then sleep until noon or later. My doting daughter has been known to begin the conscious part of her Saturday in mid-afternoon...
those moments of semi-consciousness when one can lay in bed... secure in the knowledge that there are no issues demanding one’s immediate attention. My mocking, hateful alarm clock holds no power over me on such lazy mornings... ...The afternoon nap is a pleasure all its own. During football season, I usually nod off during the first half of one Sunday NFL game and wake up for the sec-
ond half of another. NASCAR races and PGA golf have the same sleep-inducing powers during the spring and summer months...
...These days, I sometimes describe myself as a schizoinsomniac. I function fine on four hours of sleep... marginally well on three. Anything less than that and I float along in a zombiesque fugue state. Several days of three- to four-hour sleep cycles usually lead to one — Mark Bedford
...In college, partying until the wee hours was the norm for me and my crew. We’d close down the local watering holes, make the obligatory Krystal run, then scurry off to someone’s crib for supplemental fluids and combustible intoxicants. We’d turn into weekend vampires... forsaking the daylight for life after dark. During final exams, sleep was elusive and optional. I remember floating around in that sleepless “buzz” state. We’d gather at the library to indulge in performance art vaguely reminiscent of studying, take our finals, and resume the party schedule... ...After college, I began to fully appreciate sleep. Sleep is a rare treasure for those of us in the working world. I actually look at my week’s calendar and smile at the upcoming windows of potential slumber. Even better than sleep, in my opinion, are ENIGMA
major crash day. I’m oddly groggier and crankier after too much sleep than too little. Tonight, I hope is a catch-up night. I’m already doing my “sleep math.” If I fall asleep in the next 30 minutes, I might get seven hours of z-time. I’m tired enough to risk a little morning grogginess and crankiness... and I’m sure I’ll be back on my four-hour sleep cycle tomorrow night...

Kissing the Porcelain The good news is that I’m still alive. The bad news is that my body is no longer in functioning condition. After spending the meatiest portion of the last 72 hours off the wagon, I feel as though I’ve been run over by it a couple of times. And by the looks of me, maybe I have. If I ever find out who’s driving that damn wagon I’m gonna kick their ass. But that’s the price you pay when you dabble in the drinking trade. So I’ve decided that since I’m in the twilight of

A Requiem for Speckles It is said somewhere that God knows and cares about the fate of each tiny sparrow. If that is so, then he must also know and care about what befalls each other type of bird, like a mighty falcon. Over the weekend, a young one named Speckles, so named for his speckled appearance, came briefly into our lives, and with him undoubtedly came the presence of that same caring God. This is a God that I am comforted to know. We had a falcon in our midst. I expressed my fatherly concern about the difficulty of trying to raise a wild bird. There was no complaint on his part, no hysteria, no indication of what the trouble was. He just passed away very quietly. Mary Bartlett was grief stricken, of course. For just over twenty-four hours, she had been mother to a falcon, and now he was gone, but not before all the normal aspirations of motherhood had been implanted in her heart. She told me that she had hoped he would “live forever.” We buried him in the backyard with a gloriously setting sun filtering through the trees. It couldn’t have been a more beautiful time of day. We said a few prayers and sang a song. We can only hope that Speckles found his peace and his place in heaven. I believed that God had taken care of his fallen creature.

He must have written it for a bird named Speckles because it was his death that brought God’s care near, and it is what was needed to inspire a piece like that, not the demeaning attention grabbing trivialization of human bickering. Awash In Feet Living in a religiously diverse society can be difficult. For years, the ACLU and other like-minded groups have fought tooth and nail to deChristianize American society in order to make life easier, or at least more comfortable, for nonChristians and Christians who seem to have a problem with seeing their own religion (or some rough approximation thereof) promoted in public. There have been pros and cons to the de-Christianization campaign waged by various liberals in the past several decades, but end result has been a widespread transformation of many Christians into comparatively toothless versions of their old selves. Even in Chattanooga - a city traditionally considered to be a part of the “Bible belt” - it’s hard to find Christians dedicated enough about their religion to make conversion attempts during casual conversation or to use their religion and/or denomination as a way to undermine somebody else’s. Granted, some of the Bible-thumpers have taken their game online to protect themselves behind a veil of anonymity, but such tactics in and of themselves show how modern Christians have lost confidence in the public face of their religion. Those within the Christian community who have watched the public become less doctrinal in their approach to religion and less willing to discuss or practice their faith in public often lament these seemingly-irreversible changes. Those without a recognizably Christian religious background are probably feeling more comfortable living in the US with a kinder, gentler, and quieter Christian majority. Moving towards a secular society that supports the private practice of religion certainly has made life easier for those who have long been in a religious minority. Unfortunately, there is one religious minority that seems to want to fill the void of power created by Christianity’s slow withdrawal from the public eye. Islam, a religion every bit as expansionist as Christianity, is slowly spreading across the United States and leaving its mark in many communities. The latest issue that has upset Christian conservatives who feel
whipped like dogs as they lose one battle after another to keep their religious symbols in public view is the issue of public foot baths for Muslims. Those not familiar with Islam might be confused as to why Muslims might need foot baths in the first place; simply put, Islam requires its followers to wash their bodies five times a day before prayers. Such a feat is no simple matter in a standard American public restroom with toilets and sinks (never mind that they could probably use portable sanitary wipes, but oh well). Americans are generally kind and considerate folks, so it should come as no surprise that the University of Michigan-Dearborn and the Minneapolis Community and Technical College have both dedicated public funds to the installation of public foot bathes to accommodate Muslim students. This might seem like a good idea until you look at it from the perspective of a Christian whose religion has been taken out to the woodshed time and time again by public institutions fearing lawsuits from the ACLU. If you think about it, the conservative Christians have a point of sorts, not that it makes much sense for them to make it. A secularized society is pretty cozy and comfortable for just about everyone, even Christians once they learn that they can still follow their religion without rubbing it in everyone’s face at every possible occasion. Those who remain bitter about the rollback of their own religion’s public facade are now spitting and hissing loudly at the advance of Islam’s public presence in America, which makes very little sense; logically speaking, the advance of Islam should justify a slow return of Christian religious displays in public facilities funded by taxpayer money. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, right? Strangely, in America, that’s not how it works. The conservative Christians who should logically want to return their religion to its former place of publicly-ensconced glory are instead playing a sour grapes game of “if I can’t have it, nobody will” when it comes to public displays of religion. The ACLU ENIGMA

and their ilk are stupidly promoting the installation of Muslim-oriented prayer aids in public buildings using taxpayer dollars. So, in a bizarre twist, the Christians are fighting for secularism while the ACLU is fighting against it. The controversy does confirm a few suspicions that some have had about the ACLU: they are blatantly anti-Christian to a fault. How you can justify shooting down Christian religious displays of every shape and size for years on end while promoting foot bathes for Muslims is beyond reason. As one who rather enjoys our current secular society, I am bothered by the installation of any plumbing aimed to assist anyone in their daily prayer ritual whether it be funded by public money or not. The fact that it is Islam that receives such accommodations is worse still, considering that it is an extremely aggressive and expansionist religion compared to other minority religions, such as Wicca, Buddhism, Santeria, and so forth. Where are the public facilities to accommodate Druids, Scientologists, and Hindus? I don’t seem to have
noticed any (and I’m sure the Christian zealots would cry foul if there were any). What is the one religion with the temerity to assume the position that Christianity has lost in American society? The answer is Islam. Of all America’s minority religions, Islam and only Islam wants to be a publicly-recognized and accommodated religion to aid in its expansion. In the name of further marginalizing those evil, wretched, hated Christian conservatives, some liberals are willing to abandon secularism by promoting Islam.
religious needs. According to the President of Minneapolis Community and Technical College (http://www.freerepublic.com/focu s/f-bloggers/1818177/posts), “The foot-washing facilities are not about religion, they are about public safety. Christians and Jews aren’t going to kill anyone over this issue. Muslims are different. We’ve already received threats saying the college will be bombed if we refuse to build this facility. So, as anyone can see, we’re not promoting the Muslim religion. We’re saving the lives of our students and faculty”. Those are strange words spoken in strange times, and what they really mean is anyone’s guess. Do liberals want to promote Islam’s expansion to use it as a weapon against America’s Christian majority, or are they simply afraid of Muslim radicals that will kill at the drop of a hat? It is a mystery. Perhaps both motives drive the ACLU and other de-Christianizers to spread Islam, bit by bit, into every nook and cranny of American society.
Were the ACLU truly interested in fostering multiculturalism and religious diversity, they would treat Islam the same way that they treat Christianity by insisting that it remain a privately-practiced religion. One stark difference between modern Christians and Muslims, however, is in the way that each group reacts to secularism in general. Christians gripe, moan, connive, and ultimately retreat. Muslims, on the other hand, react differently, at least according to some of those who It should be noted that foot bathes, seem oddly desperate to meet their in and of themselves, are no matter

of significance. The question is, why build them? Bathing so religiously is not standard practice for Americans, and it is not logical or appropriate to assume that we will all change our daily hygiene to match that of Muslims by choice or by coercion. Public facilities always have and always should reflect the basic needs of the people. Those needing to wash themselves a staggering five times per day can very well provide themselves with their own facilities if necessary. The bathing schedule required by any religion, Islam or otherwise, is not the problem of the American public, nor will it ever be. Anyone threatening to bomb a university over the matter should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Your religion is a private matter, and the requirements of your religion are yours to fulfill; get used to it. Why can’t the ACLU agree with me on that point? Hopefully, by now, we have some idea, but I’m still waiting for an honest answer from them.

Zombie has come out with a total of five studio albums, five compilation
albums and a live album. At the height of his music career, he decided to venture into films and subsequently directed and co-wrote over six full length films. Some of his directorial efforts include, ‘House of 1000 Corpses’, ‘The Devil’s Rejects’, ‘Halloween’, ‘Halloween II’ and ‘The Haunted World of El Superbeasto’ He has also acted in a series of films. So if you’re out of time, you can almost never become dated, necessarily. A lot of times you will have bands that are so of the moment.
