LUCKY California-based singer/songwriter Jason Mraz makes laid-back, melodic pop with stylistic nods toward folk, jam band music, hip-hop, and soft rock. Since coming to the public's attention with his 2002 hit single "The Remedy (Don't Worry)", Mraz has proven himself to be a reliable pop craftsman whose crowd-pleasing melodies can encompass both cheeky humor and earnest sincerity. The hits just kept on coming for the singer/songwriter as he won two Grammys in 2010 for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance with “Make It Mine” and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals with Colbie Caillat for “Lucky”. He’s got a new album he’s touring to promote - “Yes!” He will be at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta on Tuesday and in Nashville at the Ryman on Wednesday. One of the founders of pioneering all-girl hard rock group, The Runaways is one of many artists taking the stage all weekend at the Meltasia Music Festival taking place Friday through Sunday at Cherokee Farms in LaFayette, GA. Cherie will perform Friday with a myriad of acts playing all weekend includng The Black Lips are more.

A Diminishing Republic Ruled by Obama, or by Law? If you were an American law enforcement officer, say a city police officer, sworn to uphold the U.S. Constitution and your State Constitution and to enforce your State's penal code, and you knew of a conspiracy being hatched to rob a bank in your city, would you prepare to arrest the perpetrators before they robbed the bank and brought serious harm to innocent people? Moreover, if you knew that the perpetrators were known criminals with long rap-sheets filled with crimes and misdemeanors, would you try to act speedily to keep the crime from occurring? Yet, what if your watch commander and, even, your police chief, told you to stand-down when you reported to them the incontrovertible facts about the impending crime, when it was going to occur, how it would occur, and the specific day and time? What if they, however, told you that it didn't matter and to forget about it? To answer these poignant questions, I will specifically point to an article that appeared on the frontpage of the August 2, 2014 edition of the "Washington Post" entitled, "Obama readies executive action on immigration." This article, coming from about the most Marxist propagandizing newspaper in the country, flippantly published this excuse for journalism with the same contempt for the U.S. Constitution as they did when they announced that the great (illegal) bill, Obamacare, was on the

President's desk for signature. The article should have, instead, be properly entitled, "Obama plans high-crime to issue the illegal and unconstitutional executive order granting amnesty to further denigrate the U.S. Constitution. Why is this so? Well, the most compelling reason is that executive orders are not mentioned in the U.S. Constitution. They are an abstruse creation of the U.S. Supreme Court. Article 2 does not, in any way, give the President authority to hold the legislative, executive, and judicial powers in one hand, and a bullwhip in the other. The President, as chief executive, has only the specific power to issue directives, not laws, that affect only the working status of the employees of the executive branch. He has no power to unilaterally create a law (tantamount to a U.S. statute or code), to define and interpret its legal status, and to enforce it. That is the precise definition of pure tyranny. Remember the infamous executive order issued by the first real American fuhrer, Franklin D. Roosevelt, when he ordered, in late 1941, that all of the innocent Japanese-Americans be roundedup and imprisoned in internment camps? That order was later ruled as unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court, as it should have been before it was issued. That order was responsible for over 100 deaths in those internment camps, and ruined quite a few human

lives. Something very awful, after 1929, happened to the majority of the American people when they were exposed to the severe adversity of a Depression deliberately engineered by the Federal Reserve, in 1927, when it secretly ordered that 1/3 of the paper and coin money in circulation be taken out of circulation incrementally (Economist Milton Friedman establish this fact). By 1929, the runs on the banks and savings and loans in the nation were imminent. Then, when it happened, the People of the United States buckled to socialism, government regulation, and the philosophies of John Maynard Keynes, which were implemented by FDR in his unconstitutional New Deal. The People surrendered their precious liberty and freedom to the federal government for some temporary physical security, thinking that FDR was a savior instead of the demon he was. There were at that time a few American constitutional patriots who fought Roosevelt, but through FDR's deceitful conspiracy and collusion, proven through detailed historical research, they lost the fight. The first executive order was, surprisingly, rendered by good old President George Washington when he took it upon himself to do the job of Congress by ordering the building of the first federal mint. Congress should have tonguelashed Washington and told him never to assume a legislative power that rightfully belongs to the

Congress. Nonetheless, Washington was not reprimanded (he was, for some reason, extolled) for his usurpation of the U.S. Constitution, and a precedent was unconstitutionally set that a President has the power to issue "executive orders." Yet, the old, but true, aphorism, "give them an inch, and they'll take a mile" was exemplified by that happening, and has been evermore true in the passage of history since that first illegal order was given. Now, getting back to illegal immigration, there are laws, U.S. Codes, that have been passed by plural (Democratic and Republican) Congresses, and signed by standing U.S. Presidents, going back to Harry Truman, which make illegal immigration into the United States, across U.S. borders, a crime, and actionable by federal law enforcement. According to standing law, any federal law enforcement officer can intervene in the commission of a federal crime, such as bank robbery, kidnapping, shoplifting, and illegal immigration. If they deliberately don't intervene during robberies or kidnappings, they can't use, as an excuse for not intervening, that it was not his, or her, jurisdiction. This applies to all federal law enforcement officers, the FBI, the U.S. Marshall's Service, the DEA, the ATF, etc. For example, if an armed, or unarmed, U.S. Border Patrol officer or INS (ICE) agent witnesses a bank robbery, a kidnapping, an

act of shoplifting in DC, or an act of illegal immigration, he, or she, has the authority to intervene, to stop the crime, and to arrest the perpetrators. If an FBI agent, perchance, witnesses a van-load of illegal aliens, from Tijuana, Mexico, unloading in Chula Vista, California, he has the jurisdiction to intervene and arrest the aliens and turn them over to the U.S. Border Patrol. This is only as reasonable as the duty of a deputy sheriff to have the jurisdiction to enforce any, and all, state laws in any city in that county where the local police are not witnesses to crimes that are committed. The object of law enforcement, federal, state, and local, is to maintain the public peace and security for the residents of the States who are American citizens, through the proper enforcement of all laws, federal, state, and local, legislated and enacted for the public good. When these laws are deliberately not enforced, the peace and security of the People, for which these laws were intended, diminishes in proportion to the diminution of law. I believe that this is what the Honorable John Adams meant when he solemnly said, "We are a nation of laws, and not of men." So, in the beginning of this essay I asked what you, an American peace officer, would do if you knew that a sordid federal crime, a felony, had been planned, and when it was going to be perpetrated. If you also knew that the federal law enforcement officers, sworn to uphold the U.S. Constitution and to enforce all standing federal laws, were going to standby and allow the crime to be committed,

what would you do? I have some associates who are federal law enforcement officers, FBI and U.S. Border Patrol, and some associates who are Department of Justice lawyers. And you know what? They don't give a diddly-squat about whether high-crimes are being committed by the U.S. President; and what a shame it is! These federal fat-cats are much more interested in maintaining an unlawful status quo, in order to continue getting their paychecks and retirements, than in the rule of law. All of them are bowing to their boss, Eric Holder, and saying to him, "You're command, which is your fuhrer's command, is my desire to enforce." Would you, a sworn peace officer, throw-up your hands and say, "There's nothing I can do?" Or would you do something, perhaps something a bit drastic? Of course, what you would have to do is to first come to a conclusion as to whether the issuance of an unconstitutional executive order is essentially tantamount to the commission of a bank robbery, murder, or kidnapping? Let's, for a moment, go back to FDR and consider a blatant correlation that cries-out for recognition. When that fascist President illegally ordered the internment of over a million Japanese-Americans, U.S. citizens, and some of those people died during their internment, was that order tantamount to a felony? Were those deaths the result of the commission of involuntary manslaughter, or murder by Roosevelt's henchmen? When American citizens directly suffer, to the point of death, through the issuance of unconstitutional executive orders, shouldn't something

drastic be done? Will Obama's order to give amnesty to illegal aliens, in direct violation of federal law, cause the People of the United States (the residents of your State) to suffer from crime, lack of jobs, and deliberately engineered social disorder (70 percent of the violent crimes in San Diego are committed by Hispanic illegal aliens)? My opinion is, and will forever be, that when the standing federal, state, or local laws are discounted, negated, ignored and unenforced by the chief law enforcement officers and their direct enforcers, anarchy will preside, which calls for that system, allowing such absence of law, to be abolished and a new system instituted which will ensure the blessings of liberty and freedom for the People. This is only the recourse stated in that blessed document that was the foundation of American republican government, the Declaration of Independence. When due process of law, and the reasonable acts of the American citizens, the People, to redress their grievances against the government, have no impact on the illegalities that are being routinely perpetrated by an obviously guilty standing U.S. President, his federal henchmen, and the U.S. Representatives and Senators who are in collusion with him, letters, calls, and faxes to the Legislative and Executive branches are of no avail. They don't read them. Most of the faxes go into the circular

file. These hypocritical people have other capricious agendas, and do not want to hear your complaints and grievances. I know this to be a fact. The Representatives and Senators who are really trying to uphold, protect, and defend the U.S. Constitution are in a very small minority of the Legislative branch, and the mainstream media denounce them. When the Speaker of the House is a 195 pound mental weakling, and allows the Executive branch to push him, and the House of Representatives, around, the House cannot accomplish anything collectively; and neither can a Senate, which is comprised mainly of millionaire Marxists. The only thing that will make a real difference is if 75 million American citizens, the electorate of working men and women of the American Republic, put down their jobs temporarily and collectively converge on Washington, DC in force, to surround the Capitol Building, the Supreme Court, and the White House, and demand, what Dr. Michael Savage has called, a revolutionary change in government to restore the U.S. Constitution as the exclusive federal rulebook. You, the People, have that right, according to the Declaration of Independence. What will the feds do if it happens, order the young men and women of the military to fire on their mothers and fathers? It will never happen!

MONEY MANAGEMENT

FOUR ACCOUNTING OVERSIGHTS THAT COULD PUT YOU OUT OF BUSINESS Being a business owner is a very exciting experience! As a business owner you have the freedom to be flexible, control your future and leave a legacy for many years to come. Now imagine going out of business. This is a dream killer! That is exactly what I have witness occur when the 4 items below are overlooked. Take a moment and read the article and begin setting up procedures in your business to prevent GOING OUT OF BUSINESS! FFA AII LLII N NG G TT O OM MO ON NIITT O ORR CCAA SSH H FFLLO OW W Do you have an accounting system that will help you track your receivables, payables, and expenses plus more? Many business owners use their monthly bank statements to monitor their expenses and to determine how much cash is available. However the bank statement does not show the business's outstanding checks or customer payments in route. Successful cash management places your business in the position to propel to the next level. This allows you as the owner to understand the health of the business, and then use this information to make wise and informed business decisions. Cash flow is the money that is moving in and out of your business during a certain period of time. Failure to properly monitor the flow of your cash can be detrimental to the success of the business. The simple way to monitor your cash flow is by subtracting the amount of cash available at the beginning of a period from the amount of cash available at the end of the period. A negative cash flow is when the amount of cash available at the end of the period is lower than the

Relying on the help of an expert could mean the difference between success and failure. For example a business attorney could advise a business owner on how to properly write a contract. An accountant could advise a business owner on how to save and use their money wisely. Business owners should not waste time completing these expert duties when they could be focus on more productive business growth activities. In the accounting industry I have witness business owners that purchase QuickBooks and unknowingly set-up and operate the system incorrectly. They later discover via high tax bills, IRS penalties and lots of wasted time and money that the system needs to be rebuilt. It is my recommendation that a smart business owner retain an experienced small business attorney and accountant from the beginning of the business's birth. This will allow them to prevent costly problems, build the company effectively and increase their chance for maximum success.

According to reports, iPhone users whose accounts past Labor Day weekend will be long remembered as the time when a bunch of “celebrity nudes” hit the internet. The ensuing questions about “security” and “privacy” left Apple scrambling for explanations while the FBI went after those responsible for hacking into several celebrities’ private iCloud accounts and distributing the personal photos they found in them… …America’s sweetheart, Jennifer Lawrence, was the most well-known of the hackers’ victims, but actresses Kirsten Dunst, Yvonne Strahovski, and Lea Michelle; singer Avril Lavigne; and model Kate Upton apparently were compromised. Apple says the attacks were “very targeted” at specific user accounts, but non-celebrity iPhone users can’t take much comfort from that claim… …Media reaction to the leaked celebrity nudes was quick. There were a lot of published opinions on how immoral it was to hack into someone else’s intimate photos and share them with the world. Meanwhile, the techcentricmedia focused on how hackers actually manage to pilfer nude images from celebrity iPhones and iClouds. According to Wired magazine, hackers on the web forum ENIGMA

Dear Rocco, I live next door to a lady who would lay out naked in the summer. That wouldn’t be so bad except for the fact that she had two small boys and also kept another couple of children. She would lay out in the afternoon completely naked and would allow the children to play outside at the same time. Isn’t this illegal or potentially harming to the kids to be so “exposed” to her?

BOLTON, England - A man in England was fined for wasting police time after telling his girlfriend he was kidnapped so he could stay at a party with his friends. The unnamed man told his girlfriend he was being held in a house in Bolton, England until he repaid £50 to the fabricated captor. The man’s understandably panicked girlfriend called the police to report the fictional crime, launching a very costly

manhunt that even led to an unnecessary arrest. “Considerable resources and time then went into finding this man, who it transpires made the entire thing up so he could stay out and party,” Detective Inspector Jo Clawson said in a statement. “This is without doubt one of the most foolish and irresponsible incidents I have been involved in ... Significant resources were taken off the front line on a Friday night, which is without exception one of the busiest times of the week.” Over a dozen officers executed a neigh-

PORTSMOUTH, England (UPI) - A horrified woman in England discovered a dead mouse in a box Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, prompting her to swear off the brand forever. Fifty-year-old Pauline Henderson was only trying to serve breakfast to her grandson, Toby, when she noticed something much different than a prize fall from a freshly-unsealed box of cereal. “In the morning I poured some into a bowl for him and noticed something black cov-

ered in the corkflakes,” Henderson told the Daily Mirror. “Then I saw the mouse. It was horrible and I felt absolutely sick ... Goodness knows how long the mouse was in the box or if it was dead or alive when it went in.” Kellogg’s in investigating the incident, and says this is a first for the popular cereal manufacturer. “We are carrying out a full investigation to identify if and how this occurred as it hasn’t happened before,” a spokesperson said, adding, “We take food safety extremely seriously and carry out regular quality checks in our factories.” Kellogg’s offered to replace the box, but Henderson said she’ll pass. “I spoke to Kellogg’s and they asked me if I wanted another box and I said ‘no I do not’ ... It’s put me off buying any Crunchy Nut ever again.” ORANGE COUNTY, CA. - Nothing to see here, citizen. The strange lights hanging in the sky over Camp Pendleton in California are nothing more than a “training exercise” according to officials. Residents across Orange County and as far away as Riverside County have called police to report alarming lights in the sky. Police have been flooded with calls. CalFire has even put out an alert for officers so they would know how to respond to people’s concerns. No information has been given on how the lights are being utilized by the base, only

that they are involved in a training exercise. An advisory was issued by Camp Pendleton officials last week about the live-fire training exercise and warned neighboring cities may hear an increase of noise levels during the exercise. JUPITER, Fla. (UPI) - A South Florida woman’s search for her lost pooch landed her behind bars. The Sun-Sentinel reports 38-year old Rebekah Altieri took her dog to a Jupiter, Fla., bar. The dog then took off when Altieri got drunk. So she did what any dog owner does; she called police to report the dog missing. Here’s the catch: Jupiter Police were already at the bar. A bartender had called them to report an intoxicated patron. That intoxicated patron? Altieri. The arrest report said she was upset about her dog running away and started throwing chairs. That’s when the bartender carried her out of the bar and tried to call her a cab, which she reportedly refused, Jupiter police said. When police got to the bar, they tried to get her to call a cab or a friend for a ride home. But instead Altieri called 911. Officers told her not to call 911 again, but the arrest report shows she did anyway. Police were not able to find the lost dog and the report shows she was too drunk to give a description of her precious pooch. She was charged with drunk and disorderly conduct and misuse of 911.

I’ve saved a couple of hundred pounds maybe, with money off booze, taxis, food and club entries — over four years it fairly builds up.” Macrae says he never asks for a discount once the joke has been told, but it “opens folk up to a bit of banter back and forth,” adding, “any money off is always handy.” “I thought it was really funny and unique as I had never seen anyone try to use something like that before,” said charmed 24-year-old server Kirsty Davidson of the Illicit Still. “I gave him 20 per cent food and drink discount as he was also in for food at the time. I decided it was all in good fun and he was a bit of a chancer.”

WILMORE, KY. - So getting drugs in prison isn’t easy. If it were there wouldn’t be such a thing as toilet wine. But inmates still manage to get drugs in sometimes, and they get pretty clever about it, too. One Kentucky inmate lit upon the idea of soaking his underwear in methadone. Michael Jones, 55, was let out of Jessamine County Detention Center on a courtordered furlough to attend a funeral. He must have thought he was pretty clever when he came up with the idea to smuggle the drugs back into prison in his underwear. Police say Jones cut up the briefs and shared them with his fellow inmates, including 33year-old Corey McQueary. McQueary must have gotten more than his fair share of the briefs because officers found him unresponsive in his cell. He was pronounced dead later that day. An autopsy report has not been released, but police suspect he died of an opiate overdose. “When somebody comes in the facility either from a furlough or any other occurrence, they’re searched, their clothing’s searched, strip searched, any other type of search that we feel is necessary,” prison jailer Jon Sallee said. “If something is in their garment and it’s colorless, odorless, it would be very difficult, almost impossible, to detect from the naked eye.”

The Godfather of Goth Cuts Dallas Up Peter Murphy Granada Theatre Dallas, TX

As I was standing inside the Granada Theater in Dallas patiently watching the opening act, My Jerusalem, run through its set list, it dawned on me that it had been exactly 20 years this month since I had last seen Peter Murphy in concert. The show was at the now defunct Bomb Factory (supposedly on its way back after lying dormant since the late ‘90s) and the opening

act was none other than Jewel. Yeah, it was a strange combination that night, that’s for sure, but the allure that drew me to the venue back then was the same one calling me now.

with one another can sustain an artist’s career. Murphy had that moment when he release his third D eeeepp that solo album in 1989 called D featured that truly magnificent tune, “Cuts You Up”. The song ruled the top of the Billboard rock charts for nearly two months when it was released and literally severed the umbilical cord that had been tying Murphy to his past exploits with Bauhaus. I was at the Granada to relive that moment, as were several hundred other folks in attendance this evening.

ing from the instruments on stage drowned out the singer’s vocals for most of the show. The shadowy haze of red and purple lights obscured Murphy as well. The only time the universe seemed right was late in the show when the English performer finally paid respects to his Bauhaus past with the songs “Silent Hedges” and “She’s In Parties”. Not only could you hear Murphy’s voice clearly, but the music coming through the speakers actually complimented the songs instead of overwhelming them.

The “Godfather of Goth” label is so far removed Murphy these days, it makes no sense to link him with a movement that’s more associated with his Bauhaus days than his past solo expeditions. One look at the make-up of tonight’s audience would have told anyone in attendance this was anything but a dark and brooding crowd. Murphy was greeted primarily by fans who enjoyed the singer’s work with his former mates in Bauhaus, appreciated his solo work over the past 28 years, and like yours truly, really wanted the privilege of hearing his deep baritone voice sing one of the most provoking songs released in the ‘80s, “Cuts You Up”.

If you have found Peter Murphy to be intriguing in the past, you won’t be disappointed with what you see in the present. I do wish he would have performed “Sweetest Drop” Hooll yy SSm mookkee off of the ’92 album H instead of “Low Room”, but that’s just a personal preference. Five cuts from Murphy’s just released LLiioonn album were performed along with choice cuts culled from previous solo efforts.

Again, there were no ‘Marilyn Manson’ types infiltrating this venue. Most were in their 40s and 50s attending this show to relive a part of their past Murphy’s music helped them recall. Surprising enough, most were also extremely knowledgeable on all things solo Pete and Bauhaus Peter tipped off by the background singing that was repeated song after song from Murphy’s extensive catalogue of music performed this night.

To sustain a career in the music business with a solid fan base for 30 plus years is nothing short of remarkable. It also helps to have a solid band that is young and energetic backing you up. Handling the guitars on this tour was Andee Blacksugar. The bass playing chores fell to Emilio Zef China, who effortlessly switched between bass guitar and violin throughout the night. Drummer Nick Lucero’s relentlessly beats held everything together. Again, it’s too bad the acoustics in the Granada drowned out Murphy’s voice, but at least the other musicians were able to shine. Not blaming you Pete, well, maybe just a little.

Procol Harum Help Relive the Summer of Love The show was broken into two sets of seven songs apiece. The second set included standouts like “As Strong as Samson”, “Grand Hotel” and “A Salty Dog”.

The Summer of Love made a brief visit south recently when Procol Harum made a stop at Symphony Hall in Atlanta, GA. Lead singer and founding member Gary Brooker was not only sharp on vocals and piano, but with his wit as well as he entertained a house full of fans.

Wilson passed away in 1990. A number of drummers have taken Wilson’s place beginning with Mark Brzezicki and currently Geoff Dunn has been with the band since 2006 whose credits before joining include stints with Van Morrison and Manfred Mann’s Earth Band.

One of the leaders in the progressive rock movement of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s Brooker and Procol Harum brought one hit after the other to the table as the hungering crowd devoured every note and syllable.

Procol Harum began the night with “Bringing Home the Bacon” from 1974’s Grand Hotel. From there they went into “Pandora’s Box” from the album Procol;’s Ninth.

The band saw a number of singles chart between 1967 and 1975. The band went thorugh numerous lineup changes its first ten years with the only real constants being Brooker, Keith Reed, Matthew Fisher and drummer B.J. Wilson. The three of the four reformed the band in 1991 after 14 years apart.

The band or Brooker didn’t miss a step as they stuck mainly to songs even the most caual fan would recognize. Procol Harum is one of those bands that has more singles than yo remember of can name. It’s not until you hear them that your memory is jogged or yo think to yourself, “I didn’t know this was their song.”

The song, one of the counterculture anthems of the late ‘60s sounded a relevant and distinctive as ever. It is one of a handful of single to sell over 10 million copies worldwide. It is 57 on Rolling Stones list of Top 500 Songs of All Time.

COWBOYS GO WINLESS STILL MAKING ROSTER CHANGES GOING INTO WEEK ONE

The Cowboys finished a “perfect preseason (0-4) with a 27-3 trouncing at the hands of the Denver Broncos. Granted there were no real known playmakers on the field for the Cowboys, but there are some serious concerns as they get ready for their opener Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Cowboy offense was outgained by almost 200 yards – 357 to 168. That is a concern on many levels headed into 2014. First, the defense is full of holes. They have literally stopped no one in the preseason. They sort of kind of addressed it Tuesday when they signed Michael Sam to ENIGMA

Cleveland, but the odds were stacked against him or for any middle or later draft pick to make the St. Louis defensive roster. The offense has struggled most of the preseason as well. Tony Romo had one good outing coming off of off-season back surgery, but

there is no defined running back on the roster. And if the Cowboys have to play catch up every game there’s no telling how long Romo will last especially without a pronounced leader running the ball with authority. Brandon Weeden had a mediocre preseason at best. The Cleveland reject for every good couple of plays he would execute would then do something to make you scratch your head. FALCONS FINISH PRESEASON ON WINNING NOTE PREPARE FOR SAINTS

Can I get an amen? Preseason is mercifully over after the Atlanta Falcons downed the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-14. All that’s left is the crying and gnashing of teeth has ended as teams made their final cuts over the weekend to bring their roster total down from 75 to the mandated 53.

Among the cuts and practice squad additions there were no real surprises this year for the Falcons. While preseason is no indication of the regular season the Falcons finished with their best record since 2010 at 2-2. The team also got through preseason with only a handful of injuries like Sam Baker whose work on the offensive ENIGMA

line has never lived up to hype since being drafted in 2008 and Sean Witherspoon who actually got hurt in training camp, and quite honestly the Falcons have gotten used to playing without him for the majority of last year as well.

have helped him win the number two spot behind Matt Ryan. Oh yeah, Dominique Davis, Ryan’s backup last season was one of the final cuts off the Tennessee Titans roster Saturday as well. Yates had touchdown passes of 66 and 67 yards in his half of work. “I thought he threw an outstanding deep ball on the double cut to Freddie (Martino). It was a good route and he was able to lock into the clean path and he was very accurate with his deep ball. I thought his accuracy was outstanding. I believe he only had five incompletions in 20 attempts and 243 yards with a 148.5 quarterback rating. To have a quarterback play like that you have to feel good because the number two is a good player as well and

you want as many good players as you possibly can,” said Falcons coach Mike Smith about Yates’ performance Thursday night. Devonta Freeman looks to add needed excitement to the running game. IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA

BUT NEVER IN NASHVILLE (AT LEAST THIS PRESEASON)

The Tennessee Titans saw their preseason end in conditions they started – in a driving rain. The wet field played havoc for the Titans who fell to the Minnesota Vikings 19-3. “Well, you know, it’s tough because we had two halves essentially wash out because of weather here so we lost a part of our evaluation. You know, you guys have been out

there. We have had an awful lot of snaps, a lot of competitive snaps. We feel like that we made a lot of progress. I think it is going to be an interesting next step against Kansas City, live game action, but with a chance to game plan them. I feel good about our football team,” said Titans’ head coach Ken Whisenhunt.

Zach Mettenberger played into the third quarter and had another good outing but was unable to get any points on the board. If anything Mettenberger has moved up on the depth squad as there is talk that he is heavily breathing down the neck of current starter Jake Locker. Locker has spent a majority of his playing career on IR due to a multitude of injuries. While

Locker is a mobile quarterback, his injury problems can be squarely blamed on the offensive lines. “It was a great opportunity to get out there and get some reps. It’s unfortunate how the game kind of played out. I would’ve liked to string some more drives together, get some points on the board. Overall, we did some good

things offensively. Just weren’t able to be consistent and keep the drive going,” said Mettenberger.

turnover, but I have been please with his development,” said Ken Whisenhunt about Mettenberger’s play.

“It was tough conditions early, you know. We let some guys get through that hit him, but I think he still made some good throws. There is no question that he has improved over the course of the preseason, just in managing the huddle, managing the line of scrimmage. We are able to do a lot of different things with him. I wish we would have a little more success on that that twominute drive because he has done well with those. He hit Taylor (Thompson) for a nice play. Then we were moving the ball and then had the

Dominique Davis, played the rest of the game under center Thursday for the Titans. Picked up last month after being cut by the Falcons he pretty much secured his fate with his first passing attempt against the Vikings. An interception. Davis was one of the many cuts made by the Titans to get down to the 53-man mandatory roster Saturday. Three Atlanta Falcons rejects were part of the cuts made by the Titans. Besides Davis there was tight end Chase Coffman and wide receiver Brian Robiskie. The biggest surprise ENIGMA

of all the roster cuts made by Tennessee was receiver Marc Mariani who was also handling kick returns and averaged over 24 yards a return Thursday. Whisenhunt had this to say about Mariani at Friday’s press conference. “I wish Marc the best. I have enjoyed my time with Marc. He is a good, young man. I wish him the best in his continued pursuit.”

“I think it was a good ending. Obviously, we wanted to execute more consistently and finish some of those drives that we started.
