COMMUNITY ED CLASSES ART & MUSIC Basic Drawing Introductory course on drawing techniques and materials.

Fee: $125/$100 LLA Room: 115 Ceramics Working in stoneware and porcelain clay through slab hand building and wheel throwing. Includes kiln loading and glaze calculation and mixing. Open lab time available. Must purchase one box of clay.

Community Choir Performance class with emphasis on music notation, breathing and three/four part singing.

Location: First Christian Church Fee: $99 Freestyle Painting An opportunity to paint with others and hone your skills in a supportive environment. Oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels – whatever your choice. No instruction but lots of camaraderie. Other artists in the class are happy to provide suggestions and critiques if asked.

Flexible hours. Bring a lunch and come for the full five hours or just stay for a two or three, in the morning or afternoon.

COMPUTERS CompuClinic CompuClinic is a place you can go to when you need computer help. It isn’t really a class, and there are no organized lessons. It is simply somewhere to go when you have a question or two (or more!) about computers that you need answered. Feel free to stop by even if you don’t have questions, because you just might learn something by listening in on how others fixed their problems!

PERSONAL ENRICHMENT Get Ready for Winter Recreation Getting yourself, equipment and social needs ready to have a great skiing, snowboarding, and winter recreation season. Winter Work Opportunities that are more Fun than Most Vacations.

HOME & GARDEN Rainwater Harvesting/ Management System Design The course will cover steps in reducing treated water use, design, installation and use various rainwater harvesting and gray water usage systems for businesses and residences, and development of a rainfall and gray water usage plan for your property. The course will also review of existing rainwater regulations, introduce drip irrigation ‘black water’ systems; and, answer your questions.

Numerous handouts will be provided. The course is a must for Lincoln and Otero County residents, and members of the Mescalero Apache Tribe.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Alcohol Server The New Mexico Liquor Control Act Mandates that every liquor license, lessee or server who manages, directs or controls the sale or service of alcohol for consumption on or off the license premises must satisfactorily complete an alcohol server program every five years. Our class provides all the state required training and covers all state laws and regulations concerning the sale and service of alcohol, liquor liability issues and driving under the influence of alcohol. Participants must be at least 19 years old and have valid photo validation.

Fee: $40 Room: 108 EMT-Basic This class will provide an introductory survey of emergency medical services with emphasis on intermediate care, aid and transportation of the sick and injured. Includes lecture, lab and clinical.

Local EMS facilities will be used for application and practice of skills learned in this course. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to sit for the National Registry EMT licensing examination. Students are required to do a background check and drug test that is included in the tuition.

Financial Strategies for Small Business Owners Workshop This free workshop will address financial issues for existing and new small business owners.

Topics will include one or more of the following: financial management, banking, loans, credit reports, cash flow management, record keeping and time management.
