ITALPREZIOSI HEADQUARTER
Architectural project Enrico Casagni Architetto, October 2020 - ongoing
Italpreziosi, leading company in precious metals refining and trading, commissioned the project to explore the potential of a strategically located site, near the Arezzo A1 highway exit, with excellent visibility. The lanscaping combines parking spaces with the green design and enbraces the structure, a double height structure with inner courtyard that brings light to the rooms, connected to the larger single-floor portion dedicated to production, refining and warehouses. The internal canteen will have “meter-zero” products, internally growth through innovative vertical farming techniques, in a sustainable way and reducing the environmental impact. An external cladding in golden metal blades, with the key function of shielding the inner spaces from direct light enhancing comfort and energy saving, recalls the company’s core business and making the complex a landmark for the city. - Preliminary Design & Concept - Meetings with client

FORO ITALICO CENTRAL STADIUM
Team competition project with Ing. Matteo Tanganelli and Arch. Alessandro Ponchio, January 2020
The proposal creates a rhythm in the Viale delle Olimpiadi introducing materials in dialogue with each other, with the surrounding buildings and the context of the city of Rome. Along the avenue, a series of light structures are planned to host the temporary stores. At the intersection of the access path to Viale Dei Gladiatori, the Viale delle Olimpiadi creates a square that acts as a hub and visual fulcrum for all routes and is defined by four pools of water and a large sculpture of public art. The façade constitutes the main intervention, a combination of aesthetics and structural function and is designed as a reinterpretation of the Roman architectural prototype. The internal structure of the central stadium has been redesigned in order to guarantee optimal functionality for sports activities and for events outside the sports circuit, both outdoor and indoor: a new sliding roof is installed above the crowning beam of the new structure. This solution allows to cover the entire stadium as needed and make it usable regardless of the weather conditions.

TIMENET HEADQUARTER
Team invited competition project second placed with Arch. Daniele Baldini and Ing. Pietro Cretella, September 2019
The inspiring idea for the design concept of the new Timenet headquarters in Empoli is to strongly link the relationship between workplace and nature. A part of the volume was extracted from a simple but closed form to receive the light within the building in witness of the green in an attempt to re-propose the model of the Mediterranean internal courtyard, on which the production areas overlook to offer a transparent place dedicated to calm and reflection. The facades are made permeable to the outside through large openings, shielded by a micro-perforated sheet coating system. The high energy performance of the building is the result of a combination of quality construction materials, architectural and plant design choices.

VIA MAFFEI HOUSE CORTONA
Realized project with studio Cappelletti associati (Arezzo), 2018 - completed
This renovation project completely transforms an ancient house located in the upper part of Cortona, overlooking the entire Valdichiana. Here you can see one of the three independent apartments of the building, the one with access to the outdoor garden, which was also completely redesigned. The building has undergone major structural interventions and the distribution of all the rooms has been radically reorganized. Inside, characterizing element of the entire intervention is the combination of contemporary materials such as steel and glass and traditional materials such as wood and brick. All custom furnishings have been designed to executive detail and with their clean design blend together with selected finishes, in an elegant and timeless atmosphere. - Preliminary Design & Concept - Executive Design - Project management

IVANA CIABATTI TEMPORARY AT RINASCENTE Realized project Enrico Casagni Architetto, December 2017 - completed
Ivana Ciabatti Tempory store was designed and created to represent the Brand and its products in a dedicated space at Rinascente Milano. The inspiration to realize it was first of all Gold, the main protagonist of the collection. Having limited space, in an area where people can walk around, I decided to use different independent elements to define a specific area to expose and present the products. In terms of materials, the choice was to utilize tones and surfaces in coherence with the main aspects of the displayed product and packaging: black and gold lacquered painting, glass. Clear glass, in particular, allows to play with transparecies in the vertical expositor and back panels of the main exposition “wall” and becomes a key factor to valorize the gold dust inside the liquor bottles allowing clients to see the products from every corner of the room. Luxury feel, clean design, gold twinkling are the characteristics communicated and represented by the store coherently with the values of the brand, and allow the products to show all their beauty. - Preliminary Design & Concept - Executive Design - Project management

NEW PROXIMITIES
Europan14 competition project winning with Càret studio (Florence), July 2017
The opportunity to inject new life in the de-centralised neighbourhoods is found in the entrepreneurs of the productive economy. The Taufkirchen area in Munich, Germany, is considered a blueprint for the upcoming development of the city, a new coexistence of work and production together with a set of collective spaces. The different nature of the blocks are physically declared in its image. The two-storey podium attracts different functions serving as the entrance for the residential units, connecting the parking plot underneath and protecting the newly designed park from the street. The residential is organized in linear typology placed on top of the podium. The architectural ambition is to develop a language based on a set of simple modules that contain the complexity of the new forms of working and living; a modularity that allows to place the system in diverse context without losing its expression.

EMME STYLE
Realized project Enrico Casagni Architetto, December 2016 - completed
The renovation project of this hairdressing shop in Arezzo begins with a radical rethinking of the internal spatial configuration: the service “core” is positioned on the internal corner opposite to the large windows and the rest of the room is articulated as an open space and lets the movement of customers flow naturally, dividing men’s cutting area from the women’s area. The furniture have all been custom designed and consist of a square tubular structure purposely left unpolished, while the shelves of the displays, counter tops of the cutting and make-up stations and the side panels are in ivory matt painted wood. A careful choice of finishes such as bleached parquet, paintings in warm and soft tones complete the restyling of this shop, which also has a new coordinated image with the graphics of external signs, brochures and business cards. - Preliminary Design & Concept - Executive Design - Project management

PRIMARY SCHOOL IN POGGIBONSI Competition project winning with Càret studio (Florence), October 2016
The project is articulated into three volumes, corresponding to the macro-functions defined by the program analysis - school, gym, civic center - defining the new center for social and youth aggregation of Poggibonsi. The primary school volume is oriented along the south-east axis, in search of the better solar radiation and facing the new public park. The gym occupies the opposite side of the lot, oriented perpendicularly to the main road, and marks a reference point for pedestrians arriving from the town center. The civic center is the connecting hub between the school and the gym on the one axis, and between the driveway and the pedestrian entrance on the other. Here takes shape the Agora, focal point of the project, a flexible double-height space that visually and functionallyconnects the various parts of the system and whose wooden terraced stair is a place of intergenerational encounter, socialization, space for concerts and events.

MORTON STREET TOWNHOUSE
Architectural Project with Fractal Group (New York), November 2015 - July 2016
The existing building located in the Greenwich Village, an historic neighborhood in Manhattan, is completely redesigned as a six-storeys townhouse, by keeping only the main landmark facade. The house has six bedrooms and it is developed in section with a double height living area and a narrowing shape that creates two terraces facing the rear garden. A wide rooftop terrace is also designed, with access from the bulkhead. At the cellar level find place a gym with steam room and sauna. The back facade is a real piece of art, made of translucent glass panels that changes the perception of the building overnight. - Preliminary Design & Concept - Meetings with client - Submission to the authorities for approvals obtaining - Executive Design - Bill of Quantities

BUILDING THE QUIETNESS
Team Invited Competition Project winning with Càret studio (Florence), November 2014
The group selected by the jury of Europan 12 with the project “Building the quietness” in 2013, is invited by the client to join the second phase of selection, leading to a deeper level of definition the densification project of the housing complex in Munich, Germany and rethinking some of the principles developed in the first phase. The project won this second phase of selection. The three housing blocks are separated by glazed bodies which perform the dual function of expanding the space of living, shielding at the same time the inner court by the noise from Chiemgaustrasse. The different types of apartment rotate around the central service “core”: the bedroom faces the courtyard with small terraces while the living area is protected from the main road on south through an innovative frame, very efficient in terms of noise reduction.

URBAN REQUALIFICATION OF THE CABANYAL IN VALENCIA Thesis Project Year 2011/2012 - session february 2013 score 110L/110
Once the master plan was defined, the architectural project focused in the Lonja del Pescado area, the most interesting not only for the presence of the historic building, but also for being directly involved in the project of extension of the Avenue to the sea. The Lonja, ancient fish market of Cabanyal, is rethought as an Art Centre, new cultural heart of th neighborhood. The vast nave, hosts temporary exhibitions, while the side naves, once occupied by the fish stalls and warehouses of the fishermen, are converted into studios for artists with exhibition spaces and laboratories. The entire distribution system is reorganized with the inclusion of a catwalk at the first level. The building also hosts public spaces such as bookshop and cafe. The Civic Center houses several activities for the inhabitants of the neighborhood: a bar, a play area, classrooms for the many associations, a medical center, a multipurpose space and an interpretation center where to discover the Cabanyal and its hisory. Inspired by the Lonja, the new building has a two storey mixed operational portion on the west side and a double height open space on the main aisle facing the big square. A building in the Cabanyal, conceived and designed for its inhabitants. The residential project, located on the south side of the square, completes the area. The project takes its measurements from the old neighborhood and is inspired by the ancient “Barracas”. Bright apartments are ventilated by the sea breeze and create a low-density area integrated in the context, with courtyards and wide green spaces.

PARIS MARKET LAB
Team Competition Project January 2012
“Paris Market Lab” is a restaurant and cooking school, which also functions as an auditorium, café and shop. The building itself contains the elements of the Parisian architecture, such as public functions on the ground floor, the regular front and a panoramic roof, rethinking them in an innovative way. The kitchens, placed at the points of intersection between the planes, are the generating element of the project, designed in section and characterized by great spatial continuity. Starting from the ground floor, open to the city and modeled by the flow of people, two vertical connection blocks link the different parts of the system, passing through spaces pervaded by natural light filtered by the coating, up to the roof terrace overlooking the city of Paris.

CASTELNUOVO CIVIC CENTER Architectural Construction final class Year 2010/2011 score 30L/30
The new civic center lies next to the prefabricated housing units set up at the foot of the hill of Castelnuovo, a small village hit by the earthquake in Abruzzo. The center, three main buildings with central distribution and a technical tower, hosts different public functions: a multi-purpose hall, a large recreational space and the church, as well as a bar, the venue for the association “Rebuilding Castelnuovo” and a small medical center. To accommodate this functional diversity, spaces are flexible and transformable, also thinking about a future life of the building with different uses, once the town will be rebuilt. During the design process, brought to the executive level, attention was paid to the use of innovative and light technologies, in particular wood, chosen for the structural panels and cladding.
