Emirates Transport Partners with Al Ghurair Motors at GITEX Global

to Test Hydrogen and Electric Commercial Vehicles

Emirates Transport is to begin pilot testing hydrogen and electric commercial vehicles supplied by Al Ghurair Motors as part of an all-new agreement to accelerate the adoption of eco-friendly transportation solutions.

Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) announced at GITEX Global 2024, the world’s largest technology event, Emirates Transport and Al Ghurair Motors, agreed to collaborate on the exploration and promotion of alternative-fuel commercial vehicles.

The partnership will evaluate the feasibility of these sustainable vehicles and execute pilot projects for their use and aims to foster innovation and position the UAE as a leader in sustainable transportation technologies.

The testing of commercial hydrogen

and electric commercial vehicles by Emirates Transport is a significant development in the fuel’s usage in the UAE and a major step towards integrating hydrogen technology into the company’s national fleet.

As Emirates Transport is the UAE’s leading provider of school transport, vehicle rental and other public transport services, operating over 32,000 vehicles, introducing green fuel is a key part of its strategy, and is fully aligned with the UAE’s goal of making half of all vehicles on the road electric by 2050.

Hydrogen-powered vehicles are also being promoted as an important step to reducing transport emissions and meeting the UAE’s strategic objective of reaching net zero by 2050.

Lease Officer said, the MOU represented a new era of collaboration to bring eco-friendly transport solutions to the UAE’s roads. “The research and feasibility studies that will be conducted with Al Ghurair Motors demonstrate the willingness of the two parties to align with governmental sustainability goals, contribute to policy development and set the stage for national infrastructure advancements,” he said.

Mappable Forms Partnerships with Fujairah GIS Center, Emirates Transport, and Emarat at GITEX

2024 to Expand UAE Geospatial Solutions

Mappable has formed three strategic partnerships with Fujairah GIS Center, Emirates Transport, and Emirates Petroleum Company (Emarat) during GITEX 2024 in Dubai. These alliances demonstrate Mappable’s commitment to supporting the

UAE’s development by aligning its innovative solutions with the country’s strategic goals and contributing to national prosperity.

Solidifying a vision for improved infrastructure, navigation and logistics services across the UAE, the Memorandums of

Understanding (MoUs) were signed at GITEX Stage by key executives from all four parties, including His Excellency Dr.Ahmed Hassan Almurshidi, General Director of Fujairah GIS Center; Mr AbdelHamid Sba, Chairman at Emirates Transport Technology Solutions; and Mr Ali Bin Zayed, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Emarat. Under the agreements, ET, Emarat and Fujairah GIS Center will leverage Mappable’s cuttingedge geospatial technologies to enhance quality of services, operational efficiencies and customer experiences. Mappable, in its turn, is planning to expand its advanced geospatial solutions across the region in accordance to its corporate mission and capitalize on the GIS market in the GCC, which is forecasted to reach US$ 2.15 billion by 2032.

Under the MoU with Fujairah GIS center, Mappable will integrate its advanced geospatial solutions into the Сenter’s existing systems to enhance collaboration on digital maps and enrich data diversity for urban planning. This will provide end users with accurate, real-time mapping information, improving navigation and enabling access to location-based essential services across the emirate.

Huawei Showcases Intelligent Security Solutions at Security Next Congress at GITEX Global 2024

Huawei reinforced its position as a frontrunner in end-toend cybersecurity solutions at the Security Next Congress held during GITEX Global. The event, themed “Safeguarding Cyberspace Ascension in the Age of AI,” showcased Huawei’s comprehensive cybersecurity capabilities and offerings, highlighting the company’s commitment to securing the digital landscape across cloud, network, device, and storage domains.

As enterprises navigate the challenges and opportunities of the rapidly evolving digital ecosystem, Huawei demonstrated its ability to provide robust, intelligent security solutions that safeguard digital assets in the AI era. Zabri Adil, representing the Permanent Secretariat of the OIC-CERT, the Computer Emergency Response Teams under the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), kicked off the event with a plenary address. He presented the overall perspective of how Islamic countries globally can unite together to build norms to address future cybersecurity threats in the face of deglobalization today.

A highlight of the Security Next Congress was a panel discussion on “The Role of Cybersecurity in the Age of AI, Blockchain and Web3,” moderated by Mohammed Moteb Alosaimi, Chief Security Officer of Huawei Saudi Arabia. Other panelists included Dr. Abdullah Alharbi, CEO, Hemaya Information Security Association, Saudi Arabia,

Adel Al Mehairi, Director aeCERT, Telecommunications & Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) UAE, and Dr. Elvin Balajanov, Chairman of Board, Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Organization Association. The panel discussion underscored Huawei’s thought leadership in addressing emerging cybersecurity challenges across various sectors.

Ericsson and e& UAE collaborate to expose 5G capabilities to application developers

Ericsson and e& United Arab Emirates (UAE) have announced a strategic collaboration designed to enhance access to 5G network capabilities by application developers, Hyperscale players and enterprises. The collaboration enables e& UAE to expose its advanced network capabilities via Network APIs (application programming interface), providing a more programmable and adaptable connectivity experience tailored to various application needs.

The collaboration utilizes Ericsson’s Network Exposure Function, part of the Ericsson 5G Core solution. This function facilitates seamless integration of network and platform capabilities with e& UAE CAMARA Service Exposure API layer, allowing thirdparty applications to innovate and build robust services on top of the

5G Standalone (SA) network.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in e& UAE’s journey towards programmable 5G networks and Network-asa-Service initiatives, focusing on multiple use case implementation such as Quality on Demand. This capability will be essential for use cases in sectors including media and entertainment, cloud gaming, computer vision, and remote machine control.

The integration of standardized CAMARA APIs, including Quality on Demand will allow application developers to create differentiated services that optimize user experience in real-time. Customers can expect a more stable network with enhanced latency and throughput based on their specific application requirements.

AVEVA announces two new strategic partnerships at its biggest ever AVEVA World Conference

AVEVA launches AVEVA World 2024 in Paris’ Palais des Congrès. The annual flagship software conference brings together leading industrial companies from across the globe to explore how to generate impact with cutting-edge technology. Executives from key industrial verticals including Power, Chemicals, Minerals and Food & Beverage, will be present. contractors.
