of two months, No Longer Empty revived and reintroduced a

historical landmark into the city’s landscape.

The 13 collaborating organizations formed the

Bronx Arts Alliance, and the Andrew Freedman Home now hosts an active

Art Studio and Media Center. Visitors shared their pride through heartfelt testimonials and harnessed cultural participation to subsequently bolster the existing

Bronx’s cultural landscape.

Activated a historic building that has been closed for 40 years. Programmed the site with +30 cultural events. Highlighted the role of the arts in the community with 27 contemporary artists. Invited 40 organizations & schools to strengthen local cultural participation and networks. Attracted 7,000 visitors, both local and city-wide, to the South Bronx.

Jameco Exchange, NLE’s site-responsive exhibition, activated 89-62B 165th Street in Jamaica, Queens.


The vacant retail space on Jamaica Avenue before being transformed into a socially engaged exhibition space.
