ave you ever felt as though you’re experiencing tremendous blockages, which is causing you to over analyze everything, wherein the once upon a time fulfillments that used to be found in even the simplest of day to day ventures, are just not cutting it for you anymore?

Having tunnel vision will easily distract you from everything else that is happening around you... Well here’s the problem you are dealing with, it’s tunnel vision. This is something that was birthed from your feeling stuck due to there being a lack or loss of fulfillment in your life. The things that once got you excited to take on each day has somehow died down, and the part that is making this extremely difficult for you is that, you have no clue as to when and how it happened. One day you were feeling like your happy go lucky self, then all of a sudden “wham” it was gone! No warnings, no signs, no prior inclinations…it just ceased to exist and it took the fire from within, that erstwhile shown so

brightly. What you’ve been going through has you feeling like you’ve been shackled by your hands and feet, and with each attempt to move forward it’s as if some invisible hands are redirecting you, but to a place where you have no desires to go. You want off of this roller coaster, you need to break free to run, to scream, to find the missing link to the answers you seek but to no avail. You’re trapped in a space that seems to be threatening you future self, and your creativity as well as your here and now. The truth is sometimes we get stuck in this self induced bubble that causes us to be on this stagnant path of going round and round in circles, which initially feels like we’re going somewhere until finally we notice that we have been getting nowhere, except for where we’ve already been standing. You look behind you and you see others catching up, or so it seems, until you my dear have realized that they have all been running the race, while you have had your feet planted at the starting line and have yet to move on. While you were locked in on what was in full view, they were taking notice of everything that laid around them, and it allowed them to see the potential of each. So when life’s whistle blew, they took off because they had to grab hold of the various possibilities the world held, but your tunnel vision caused you to not hear it. As a consequence of this you’re left standing in the same spot that everyone else began from and is now about to reach the

end, because they have ran the course in order to move on to their next. You’ve got to wake up and realize that your tunnel vision is leading you to dead ends that will never be conquered unless you learn to shake yourself away from and out of the way of these blockages. No one is going to wait for your or continuously grab you by the shoulder to make sure you’re staying on target. That’s your job, because your wins are for you just as much as your losses are your own. The only difference is more people will be inclined to rock out with you when they see you trying, but if you are comfortable staying seated with these blockages that continues to have you locked in, then you will always find yourself stuck at the beginning. When it comes to business we often carry over the same behaviors that we exhibit in our everyday lives into our professional life. As we find ourselves confronted by struggles that are posing great amounts of difficulties it is that very moment when desperation sets in, which brings on the tunnel vision, because now you are so fixated on what the issue is wherein suddenly you can no longer see

or hear anything that is outside the box. Be laser focused is a phrase we’ve heard going as far back as our childhood days, when our parents or teachers are wanting us to not give in to the distractions that surrounds us, as that is how we are told that we will achieve whatever it is we put our minds to. Well here’s the irony to that very phrase, when it comes to business and we try to implement that very same laser focus or laser focus methodology for accomplishing that goal we’re so determine to bring to fruition, it can end up becoming the marring to having a positive ending result. The thing is, when we become dead set on that one issue that lies before us and thinking that there is only one way to solve it, we then close off our minds to other ideas that will present us with other possible solutions. Now, be serious and completely honest with yourself, how does that help with the development of what you’re building and how does it truly serve those who you say you are wanting to help? The best answers aren’t always found on the first try. Sometimes you’ve got to fail and fall a few Continued on page 12

MAINI HOMER

How I created an income stream with no money down... and filmed the whole thing! MAINI HOMER

Y

es, you read that right. In just two short weeks I went from no income stream to one that was clearly going to thrive. So how did I do it? Well, clearly there were a number of steps I took. Clearly I had some prior knowledge on how to make it happen. I also had enough confidence and certainty in my abilities to make it a reality.

I’ve got to say though, I even surprised myself on how fast it all happened. Firstly, for those who don’t know me yet, my name is Maini Homer and I am a #1 International Best Selling Author, Entrepreneur and Business “Genius” living in Queensland Australia. I’ve been in business for myself for over 23 years and in that time have created 11, make that 12 businesses from scratch. Many of the businesses I have created have been done with very little or no money down. Most of the businesses have been funded with less than $1000 and most of them have gone on to earn me 6 and even 7 figures. This particular project was to prove that I could do it easily and effortlessly. 6 | ENTREPRENEUR PLATFORM MAGAZINE | SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2020

See, my “day job” is working with women all over the globe helping them build income streams. Some of them come to me with absolutely nothing apart from their passions and talents, and I have a knack of coming up with the business ideas. Then it’s working with them closely to get them flying. When that happens they earn. Their lives are turned around and I become like a superhero to them.

That’s me…The Business Superhero! Doing this project was so that I could show more people what I am capable of. There are so many cowboys out there making all kinds of promises. You know the ones. Pay me $5K and I’ll get your calendar booked. Four weeks later your calendar is emptier than ever and you have lost your $5K. My highest values are honesty, integrity and authenticity. So it was vitally important to me that I could back up what I said I could do. 100%. That’s why I set about this project. I wanted potential clients to see that I really can put my money where my mouth is. There were certain rules I had to follow when creating this income stream from scratch. These were set, so that I really was having to start right from the beginning with nothing but my wits, my knowledge, my experience and solid belief in myself.

MAINI HOMER

The rules of the game were: • No money was to be put down to get it off the ground. • I could only use the resources I currently had available. • I had to follow the advice of my #1 International Best Selling book – Lockdown took my Income Following this system was easy for me. I’d used the same system in all 11 of my previous businesses and it had served me well. Day 1 was in front of me. It was time to start work and record my progress along the way. The very first thing I did for this project was check that my thoughts and my mindset were in the right place. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in the past few years is that your mindset has to be 100%. WWW.ENTREPRENEURPLATFORMMAGAZINE.COM

Without that, you can really struggle to get anything off the ground. A business is no different. In fact, truth be told, it’s probably one of the hardest things you’ll ever do. That is why so many of them fail. Knowing my mindset was strong, I started asking myself some questions. I had to get a clear picture of what business I wanted to create. I had to look deep inside myself to find out what it was I truly wanted to do. In my book – Lockdown took my income, we really dig deep into this. We ask all the heavy questions, so that anyone can come out of that experience, knowing their true passions and desires. It’s from this space that you can create something incredible. Having done the exercises in Chapter 1, I was able to ascertain that I loved to write. Who would have thought that right? So, I decided that I could offer a blog post, or article writing service. This was something I felt passionate about and I knew I was good at it. I write for several global magazines including this one, plus have had all my

A

t eight-years-old, Christon ‘The Truth’ Jones battled depression after being bullied by football teammates and a coach who told his mother he was a bench player. His mother encouraged him to write his feelings and within a year, he authored an international bestseller ‘The Win Within’, selling well over 500 copies within weeks. He also had the last laugh when he ended up as MVP on an All-American youth football team. At age ten, Truth became a certified Les Brown motivational speaker empowering men and boys across the country. It was also around this time he began observing his mother’s investment in the stock market. She took up a course in day trading and put him in the class as well. Now at 13-years-old, Truth has a stock portfolio the Wolf of Wall Street would envy, evidenced by him hitting six figures during the COVID-19 pandemic through his company, Return On Investment, LLC. His tips and strategies from Amazon to Tesla stocks have even those with Ph.D.’s signing up for his multi thousand-dollar coaching classes and raking in hundreds of thousands. In July 2020, Truth was still a well-kept secret with just 4,000 followers on Instagram. But since being featured on multiple shows, offering a course on Juneteenth to reach the Black community and a story on him earning the equivalent of six million Nigerian dollars in just three days spreading across Africa, he has garnered an organic international following of nearly 100,000 in a matter of days. Now, there are considerations for him to create an online course for a middle school curriculum. He’s also known as being the founder of the Truth Playmakers Awards, a program that salutes young Black excellence. The Truth has honored chefs, inventors, influencers, entertainers, scholars, athletes, kidprenuers and more. 8 | ENTREPRENEUR PLATFORM MAGAZINE | SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2020

“He’s just a kid with a big vision,” says his mother Janel Jones. “The thing is when a child comes to a parent with a big idea, so many just want them to remain kids and don’t cultivate it. Christon went from following some things I was doing, learned how to do it a whole lot better and at a very young age, he realized it was better to own a stock than to own the product, especially in the long term. He then wanted to share that knowledge with others, especially the Black community after he understood the systemic oppression that resulted in why there is little generational wealth in the community.” And it’s hard to believe but his biggest fan is also his closest business partner - his younger sister Bailey. She helps him with his online store and even got into hosting the red carpet for the 2019 Truth Playmakers Awards in Atlanta. Janel admits that being a military mom, her children have moved around a bit. However, she ensured that wherever they moved, they were given opportunities to see historical sites and further, to WWW.ENTREPRENEURPLATFORMMAGAZINE.COM

You also can apply common sense strategies to buying. For instance, around Christmas and Thanksgiving, a lot of people buy video games for gifts. So the one tip I give is to buy low in September but sell high in November.” Truth wants people to see beyond the traditional ‘get a job’ narrative and to focus on other ways to generate income such as the stocks.

TUNNEL V ISION

CHAPLAIN OPHELIA NIXON-UKE times in order to get the best and most effective results that you’re needing. Yes, sometimes you’ve also got to look into other things in order to find your thing, because it’s in that, that you will see it’s ok to not be so focused on one thing, because it can cause you to miss out on the greatest thing you will ever create. It’s incredibly frustrating isn’t it! You have a foolproof game plan in place or so you thought but your tunnel vision personality won’t let up. I get it, but do you understand that you need to do something different in order to see the change happen? You’re kicking stones, while maniacally sifting through your minds databank looking for the answers or any type of logical explanation that will bring justification to your question of “why”! It’s because subconsciously something is going on which you cannot make heads or tail of. However, this is where you must fight to let the conscious mind guide you, so you’re able

to focus on the possibilities of why you’re feeling so stuck and disconnected. Honestly a lot of the things we are confronted with is tied to things of our past that we’ve never really dealt with, but rather swept under the rug. Why? Because showing anything less than strength makes you look weak. Yeah, we’re trained to suck it up and just get over it. We’re told anything we don’t focus on can’t manifest. Oh sure, it won’t outwardly manifest for now, until you explode and it begins to manifest in ways that isn’t usually an essential quality of your nature, of which by this time people are labeling you as an angry person, a loose cannon or downright crazy. However, before it gets to that level I want you to get crazy enough to put a stop to what is controlling these emotions and mental blockages. I want you to get crazy enough to say that you will not be controlled by these tunnel visions that are hindering your sight from seeing your maximal capabilities. You must be willing to dig deep for the best even when life is tossing unforeseen challenges, and pressures upon you.

12 | ENTREPRENEUR PLATFORM MAGAZINE | SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2020

Having tunnel vision will easily distract you from everything else that is happening around you, which will cause tremendous problems whereby the proper functionality of your business will take a hard hit. What happens is, whatever we give ourselves over to ends up becoming the very thing that will hijack our vision and corrupt our purpose. Let me break it down for you just a little further as I want you to truly understand how, and why operating your business or any aspect of your life for that much with tunnel vision can in fact harm you. So, what is tunnel vision, it’s a major laxity stemming from ones failure to see the bigger picture of what is before them. It can produce perilous outcomes and or major setbacks because you’ve chosen to view every finding or detail allotted by that one particular assessment. Let’s not be railroaded by these blockages, today you get to make the choice as to the path you are wanting to choose in achieving your successes. Chaplain Ophelia Nixon-Uke

MAINI HOMER Continued from page 7

How I created an income stream with no money down... MAINI HOMER written articles published this year without any revision. Not to mention I also wrote a #1 International Best Seller. So, the next thing I did was get to work. I started looking at where I’d advertise this business. Remember, I wasn’t able to put any money down, so that meant I had to look at what resources I already had available. I decided to check out fiverr.com to see if this was a viable option for me. I started my looking at whether article writing and blog posting was a listed service. Once I discovered it was, I then starting looking at who was already in the marketplace and what they were offering. I checked out around 20 different sellers to see what they were offering and how much they were charging. From here,

I looked at their feedback, and I worked out that this could indeed be a very viable business. So, I updated my profile and I added a “gig”. I made sure that my gig was attractive and that it would catch a potential clients’ eye. My gig had a bright and cheery graphic on it and I made sure it stood out from the crowd. Ensuring that my gig was very competitively priced to start with made my chances of winning a client much easier. Once I was happy with all of this, I published it and then looked for my next move. If I have learned anything in my 23 years of business it’s that “Success leaves clues”, so I spent a few hours researching. I discovered that the way to get started was to look at who I knew, or what resources I could have outside of Fiverr to help. Fiverr suggested that I share my gig with my social media channels. I decided to put a post up in my Facebook group of 2500.

Now, some of you right now, might be saying “Well I don’t have a Facebook group or any kind of following”. That’s quite ok. There is more than one way to skin a cat right? This was just what I chose. I also know several of my friends would have helped me out as well, if I’d asked them too. My philosophy on this is that if you can help someone get what they want, then they’ll be more than happy to help you get what you need. So, I put a post up in my group asking to write articles for the members for just $5.00. Within a few short hours I had 5 jobs on the go on Fiverr. The articles were small. Just 500 words and I was able to get them out easily. It was of course much cheaper than what I wanted to charge, however it was a way for me to gain some 5 star reviews and get started. So I dug in and did the work. My friends loved them. They had “won” by getting some work Continued on page 14

How I created an income stream with no money down... MAINI HOMER done for their websites. I had “won” because I’d made a little money and now there were 5 shiny new feedbacks on Fiverr about my work. All genuinely earned, because money and work had changed hands. Completely legitimate. The first big surprise came in the next morning. I awoke to four different enquiries from people I

didn’t know. Some of them had a requirement of 10 articles to be done. Now I knew some of this was because my price was low. Some of it also was because of my profile, the way I’d written my copy, and because of the 5 new feedbacks. Fiverr had promoted my listing a little and it had attracted attention. So, I took on one or two of the jobs on offer and immediately doubled my prices. The wonderful news is, the work continued to flow in. I have again doubled my prices across my gig range, and am also adding more

services now. In just two short weeks I tripled my price, gained new and repeat customers and am lining myself up for the first level in Fiverr, Level 1 seller. I have a growing business, and can’t wait to see where this goes. There is much more to tell, so if you want to see the whole journey, you can see the videos here. If I can do this, so can you right? All you need is the right tools and the right guidance, and you’ll be absolutely on your way. Links To Videos - https:// www.tallpoppiesrising. com/14dayvideos

His desire to leave a mark on the world and to be remembered for something truly remarkable is exactly why he is using his gift for writing and his love for community to design a resource that families can use to create happy, healthy and fun environments in their homes. Born in Killeen, Texas, Blaine Way is the CEO and Founder of Way To Parent, a Family Lifestyle Blog and Magazine. Blaine is the father of 4 beautiful children. Together he and his Fiancée Mashonda, are creating a home filled with vision and laughter. “My Fiancée is my right hand person with a lot of the business I do. She helps me with everything I need.” His oldest two children are in high school and are experiencing the teenage, “I’m grown” phase. He has one son, who is very much like him. “my son is a miniature me and definitely gives me the majority of my gray hair”, Blaine admits. Blaine believes a family that laughs together loves forever. He is a hands-on father who takes great pride in the role he plays in the lives of his family. When talking about his family, Blaine says,” Each person brings something special and unique to the family structure. They all keep me on my toes and make sure I get all the work I can handle.” Blaine is passionate about family. It is this passion that compelled him to create Way to Parent. Way to Parent is a Lifestyle Magazine dedicated to strengthening families. The brand’s focus is to highlight what successful parenting looks like. His mission is to inspire, educate, and empower families everywhere by using the WTP platform to spotlight parents and children working together as a family. Since 2019, his publication has addressed and highlighted the current topics and trends impacting the 26 | ENTREPRENEUR PLATFORM MAGAZINE | SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2020

21st century family such as mental illness, suicide, transgender topics, single parenting, military life and many others. Through WTP parents experience advice, inspiration and support as they, navigate the ups and downs of family life. While the Way to Parent brand is fairly new, Blaine is not a new comer to the blog and publication space. Blaine is the author of a book series called “Adventures Of Superdad” and has two additional books awaiting publication. He has also worked closely with many bloggers and publicists who have helped him in this area of work. He contributes his decision to begin Way to Parent to his long time friend and mentor Kimberly Knight. Knight, who has her own blog “The LuxBlogNC” was so impressed with his vision for families, particularly families of color that she encouraged him to share his parenting journey with other parents. As a result of her encouragement and the positive feedback he received from those who experienced his early posts, Way to Parent was birthed. “I knew as a single dad, parenting was a struggle. I wanted to create something that helped support parents who didn’t have the support system I did; Kimberly’s guidance gave me the motivation I needed to get started” Get started indeed, in just over a year’s time he has grown his brand and team to include 10 writers, 2 editors and a rapidly growing readership. He maintains a regular blog and publishes a new magazine issue bi-monthly. The magazine can be purchased digitally on the WTP

website or in print through Amazon.com. When asked how he has managed to experience such quick growth and strong customer base, he says it all boils down to the team, “I built a successful customer base, by having a great team, that shares content and is extremely consistent. As a child Blaine dreamed of becoming an NBA star, “I was a big Chicago Bulls fan and like every kid in the world, I wanted to be just like Michael Jordan.” Although he did not become a professional basketball player, his love for the game of basketball has remained consistent. This year he used his publication to honor the late Kobe Bryant. In his article, he poignantly articulated the pain and admiration men all over America were experiencing. While magazines and blogs throughout the Nation were reporting on the tragedy and details of Kobe’s his tribute celebrated life and tackled the topic of mental WWW.ENTREPRENEURPLATFORMMAGAZINE.COM

health. Way to Parent did what very few platforms did, it allowed readers to stop, pause, and mourn the loss of a great leader and icon. This sensitivity to people and keen intuition to the emotional well-being of Way To Parent readers is what makes this brand truly stand out amongst the rest. When ask what motivates him, Blaine said that his family and friends motivate me. “Other entrepreneurs motivate me, but my desire to see my dreams become reality is what really motivates me. I want to show my kids that if they try hard enough and put in the work they can do whatever they want to do.” It is this motivation that keeps him going. A typical day for Blaine comprises of a regular 8-hour work day with long nights of magazine Continued on page 26

edits, designs, writing, and brainstorming. “If I’m not spending time with my family or working, I am putting time into building Way to Parent.” Blaine shared that learning to balance it all was a big adjustment for him, “At first becoming an entrepreneur put a strain on my family, I had to learn how to manage work, family and business. At times I didn’t know how to do it, but as time went on I developed patterns and schedules that help me manage everything.” Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. It requires vision, commitment and tenacity. Blaine knows this very well, but he loves it. His favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur is meeting likeminded people who are just as passionate about their craft as he, “I love the networking and creating relationships. Some

relationships have become more valuable than the money.” As he continues to develop his goals for the brand and his vision for the next 5 years he says that his mission is to create jobs for others. For Blaine success isn’t about the money but rather success is in the process, learning something new, developing new ideas, and establishing new business relationships. Blaine Way is creating a brand he loves and embracing the journey. When he is not spending time with family or investing in his business, he can be found eating wings or playing his PlayStation 4. P.B.Soldier Synopsis P.B.Soldier (produced by PBS Media) is a science fiction adventure that follows covert operative Nat Cummings, a skilled computer hacker using his skills to help pay for college tuition when his activities are discovered and he becomes listed as an International Terror Threat - code red. The newly formed government/paramilitary organization called The Establishment, gives him a simple choice, either work with them to become a highly-trained assassin or be terminated. Cummings, a sniper class operative, now not only specializes in hacking, but hand-to-hand combat and stealth, as well. Nat is exceptional at his job, until the day he meets Jazen, a mark who knows more about him and “The E” than he does and is confronted with the stunning realization that his work might not be for the greater good. Now he’s on a quest to learn the truth while coding an elaborate program to divest himself from The Establishment before becoming its next target. P.B.Soldier’s premise is The Bourne Identity meets V for Vendetta as Cummings becomes a doubleagent of sorts trying to bring down a system from the inside without letting those he cares about fall into harms way. The storyline is based in and around fictional Renaissance City and spreads to various locations throughout the world.

P.B.Soldier definition The P stands for Psyton. Psyton is a particle carrying a sinister force. This particle is the signal that P.B.Soldier sends through the net to infiltrate firewalls on network servers. The B means Blacklist, which has a double meaning due to the nature of his activities once he was discovered he would be Blacklisted. Also Blacklist is an access control system that denies entry to a specific list (or a defined range) of users, programs, or network addresses, those are the databases he spends the most energy trying to access.
