Inside Glance: Holy Habits Adult Sunday School Other Adult Opportunities Youth Sunday School & EPC Youth Children’s Sunday School & Other Opportunities Music Wonderful Wednesday

Easley Presbyterian Church is a great place to grow as found in the many opportunities that abound for study, reflection, discussion and personal discipleship. One week does not pass by when you cannot find a place to gather for fellowship and spiritual growth. The nourishment you need to grow can be found through Sunday school classes, worship, Wonderful Wednesday, musical opportunities, Amazing Grays, Presbyterian Women, Equipping the Saints, Men’s Bible study, service/outreach and so much more! These opportunities for growth begin with our youngest members and extend throughout elementary and teen years and up through adulthood. As disciples of Christ, we are always learning, always growing, always maturing and always seeking. This year, our Christian Education focus will be “Holy Habits.” Worship Prayer Study Service These are the foundational practices of all Christian disciples, the core disciplines that we should make priorities each week, if not daily. A habit is defined as behavior that is repeated regularly.

repeated regularly….each and every Sunday and special services throughout the year. “O come let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our maker.” Psalm 95:6 repeated regularly….every day, every hour, every minute. “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing.” I Thessalonians 5:17

repeated regularly….daily at home, weekly at Wonderful Wednesday, Sunday School, Youth Group, Equipping the Saints, monthly at Presbyterian Women circles and other special classes and events. “Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105

repeated regularly……weekly or monthly volunteering and supporting local ministries and missions abroad. “And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these, my brothers, you did it to me.’” Matthew 25:40

Discovery Class

Teacher: Kathy Lyles

Room: E203

This year the Discovery Sunday School class will follow a curriculum endorsed by our church's Evangelism Committee. It's called Engage and is designed to help us tell our Christian story through the Gospel, Discipleship and Mission. The study says, "Telling another person about God's love in Jesus Christ and the difference that has made in your life should be the easiest thing of all. But most of us have not found this to be easy." We are all called to be evangelists and we hope our study this year will make it a bit easier. The Discovery class is mostly couples and a few singles. Our average age is somewhere in the 50's. We have fun and support each other - we like to eat, and sometimes have arts and crafts to illustrate a lesson. Everyone is invited to join us!

Seasons Class

Teachers: Laura & Eric Anthony

Room: E202

This class provides a place for adults (mainly with children) to grow and learn in Christ. However, we always have singles and grandparents in our class! All are welcome. Seasons will be studying the book titled Engage, Gospel, recommended by the Evangelism Committee of EPC. This book series is designed to help make sharing the Good News of the Gospel just a little bit easier. We look forward to seeing you in Seasons class this year .

Seeking Fellowship Class

Teachers: Duane Hurne & Daniel Lee

Room: E205

This class is open to all who are interested in the qualities and methods for leadership. We will use the Old Testament book of Nehemiah as our guide. Many Christians may not know that this incredible book contains the most important principles of leadership. As we study this book we will learn about the steps he took with the help of God to make this journey of faith. This inspirational study will last about 20 weeks. All are welcome to join us for this study, even if you have never attended before!

Sojourners Class

Teachers: Harv Rettberg & Billy Waddell

Room: E201

This class is designed for the Christian looking for applications of Bible truths to help them on their everyday journey towards Christ. This will be accomplished through time for Christian fellowship and sharing with leader-driven session overviews followed by open group discussion. We will use the DVD and book called, “When the Game is Over, It All Goes Back in the Box” in the fall, followed by a New Testament character study.

Stages Class

Teacher: Anne Seel

Room: E101

This casual, discussion-based class is a place where both couples and single adults in all “stages” of life are welcome. In the fall, the class will continue and complete its study of the book of Acts. Attending the class previously is not a pre-requisite. Each Sunday, we read the Bible and wrestle with the ideas and challenges the ancient words bring to our 21st century families and lives. We try to provoke thought, to consider God’s desires for us and to share some laughter every Sunday. We try to have several social gatherings each year. Visitors and new members are always welcome.

Life & Faith Class

Teachers: Floride & Nick Caldwell

Room: E204

Life & Faith is a class of college - age young adults that will meet during college break times and during the summer. Join us when you can!
