Session I: BreakOut Elementary

Life in a Day

June 7-10 Rising 3rd through 6th grades $260 This is a special program geared to elementary age campers. It combines the best of fun, camp activities and growing in faith while meeting many new friends. This is a great introduction to camp for younger people. There is a lot going on in a shorter period of time with all the fun of the camp experience, along with learning and growing in Christ. Most of all, the campers will be loved and supported by an amazing staff so that they will be all they can be.

At BreakOut

“Since it was our first day of

camp, we voted to go Wacky Tacky to breakfast in the morning so we had more time to prepare ourselves. We had some program time tonight with our program staff of the week, Elaine. (With assistance from all of the counselors and junior counselors!!) After dinner we had our drum circle with Jana from Drum Magic. After our drum circle, we had worship and Compline with Fr. Christian and our music team, and went off to our cabins for bed! (But not before we had flashlight time from our bunks!) We have a small but mighty group of elementary schoolers for our first ever session of BreakOut, and the next 2.5 days are going to be so awesome! Note to parents and church leaders: BreakOut can support your Sunday School, VBS and love of God through this program that is used in many dioceses; all you need to do is sign them up and watch them grow.

Session II: Middle School Camp Middle School Camp June 11-16 Rising 6th-8th Grades $390

Our middle schoolers love being together and what better place to do that than DaySpring? Swim, hike, canoe, dance, sing, worship, play a sport, play in the Gaga pit, zip line, go on the high or low ropes and have fun in so many ways. There will also be time for prayer that’s really cool, worship that’s deep and fun and a staff that is there for you. Camp will not only be a great time but will make a difference in your life. Camp is such a blast that we work, worship, and play all day! Join us. Chaplain is The Rev. Canon Michael Durning.

Life in a Day At Middle School Camp: “Wednesday was an awesome day with worship, program, and focus groups in the morning. Outdoors group did archery, sports did slip-n-slide kickball, and art made bowls and lanterns out of yarn. Camper’s choice was in the afternoon with lots of fun activities, and then we had our drum circle at night. What a cool night it was with all of us drumming at the same time!! When we were done jamming out in the drum circle, we spent some time in different prayer stations praying in different ways and for different things. Off to bed and packing up the cabins for everyone now!”

Session III: High School Camp High School Camp June 18-23 Rising 9th-graduation $390

Our high school teens have so much fun and so much to offer each other. We draw on their skills, talents and insights to shape and form this amazing camp experience. Play, share, have a game of basketball or other sports, make a friendship bracelet or go deep into an art project, tie dye something and bring it home, dance, sing, worship, pray in a whole new way, build community with people who will be longtime friends, climb high or be challenged low, take on the Gaga pit, canoe, swim or take it easy, campers have many choices as well as just hanging out. Your life will never be the same and others will have many memories with you. The staff is awesome and we learn to live and love in ways we never imagined. Chaplain is The Rev. Kevin Warner. Attention Sr. High: you are today’s church and a large church family. Be part of it at DaySpring this summer.

Life in a Day At High School Camp: “On our last full day of camp we started the day on the high ropes, of course climbing and zip lining. Our last camper’s choice got rained out so instead we watched Facing the Giants. After dinner we had an amazing talent show, and reflected back on our time here with a sacred circle. We can’t wait to see everyone at our closing Eucharist at 1 p.m.

Session IV: Leadership Camp & Adult Youth Leader Conference Leadership Camp June 25-30 Rising 9th-graduation $390

First, we believe in the leadership of teens, now, not just in the future. This conference teaches and shares leadership skills that are helpful in church, school, and life. It is led by a leadership team of gifted high schoolers and adults. Last year this was one of the most profound and moving camps of the whole summer. Any congregation will be enhanced by sending their teens to this week of leadership. Along with the training there will be more fun than we can stand with all of the camp activities listed above as well as getting to know some amazing people in new and powerful ways. This is a combined effort of Youth Presence Ministries, a trained high school team and six adult youth leaders including Barney Waterbury, Andrew Forrester, Alicia Schmid, Josh Baudin, Adam Palarine, Fr. John Palarine. The chaplain is Fr. Dan Lemley. Also featured will be an adult conference for youth leaders and clergy on some of the basic skills for youth ministry. The adults will have their own lodging and training but will interact with the teens in many ways.

Life in a Day At Leadership Camp: “We had a fantastic end to our week here at camp. We started off with an abbreviated program that moved into time on the high ropes course. After lunch we finished up our arts and crafts and played around after siesta. After dinner we had time with Barney and the lovely Leta (his talented wife), and heard some of their original songs like the funnel cake song. And had a camp-wide Sacred Circle. What an amazing close to a week of love and community.

Session V: Elementary Camp Elementary Camp July 16-21 Rising 3rd-5th Grades $390

This is our traditional summer camp aimed at all the great fun camp activities and things like swimming, wacky Wednesday, silly Olympics, chapel time, arts and crafts, games, sports and much more. We emphasize fun, play and caring for each person while growing in Christ. We also feature tree climbing (professionally led by Pathfinders) which the kids love. Add in a drum circle, talent show, Hootenanny and you are in for a week you will never forget. Chaplain is the Rev. Canon John Palarine.

Life in a Day At Elementary Camp: “What an amazing third day we had here at camp. We started the day off with a drum circle led by our friend Jana. After that wonderful experience we moved to archery with Slade and canoes for the rest of the morning. After lunch we had quiet time in the cabins followed by arts and crafts where we painted little tiles in patterns of our choosing. Not surprisingly a lot of poke’ balls popped up on faces of tiles. In chapel we dug deeper into our theme and better bonded with our camp buddies (stuffed animals that were given to each camper). The night wrapped up with our friend Barney who came to do a Rootin’ Tootin Hootenanny and even stuck around through worship.”

Session VI: Mission Camp

Mission Camp July 23-28 Rising 6th–graduation $390

Life in a Day

Mission Camp is a unique opportunity to take part in all the wonderful and fun camp activities while experiencing and learning about outreach to others. This is led by Fr. Bryan O’Carroll, St. George’s, Bradenton and The Rev. Chase Ackerman, St. John’s Tampa, and other leaders who bring great mission experience and passion. This week is open to middle and high school students. We visit mission sites Monday through Thursday and then return for sports, games, swimming, arts and crafts and more. We have a special program on mission each night along with a great fun all-camp activity like the Hootenanny, talent show, movie or some surprise.

“Today our teams returned to Turning Points (homeless services in Bradenton) and R.C.M.A (care for children of migrant workers in Wimauma) in the morning. The Turning Points crew passed out PB&J to the homeless. The other group once again worked in Redlands Migrant daycare facilities and cleaned up their playground.

Clergy and Youth Leaders: One of the most important things we can do with teens is to teach them the Gospel imperative of reaching out to others. Send your youth to mission camp and they will return to lead the way for others.

At Mission Camp:

After dinner we had a wonderful talent show and Barney came to do a Rootin’ Tootin’ Hootenanny. We rounded out the night with program and headed to bed, ready for our next adventure.”
