Continued from Page 32 should eat small and regular meals. Because of our work schedules, we tend to skip meals and gorge during the next meal, and that’s very unhealthy. You still need to maintain regular mealtimes, and obviously, do not overeat. If you’re very hungry before a meal, eat something first. Have a slice of fruit or some water before you even go for a meal to fill you up. Fruit before meals also helps with digestion. If you go in with a very hungry stomach, chances are you’re going to eat like there’s no tomorrow. So, it’s very important that you never go for a meal on an empty stomach. Q: I understand that you’re also a qualified make-up artist, so if you could change one thing about how Singaporeans do their make-up, what would it be? A: For most Singaporeans, it is from no makeup to makeup. Because for the majority of Singaporean ladies, there is no makeup so there’s nothing to change. So I think we should at least put on basic makeup. When your face changes from no colour to some colour, it makes a lot of difference. I’m not asking you to look like Avatar, but you should at least have some day-today makeup. So I think that would be a lot more pleasant and presentable. Q: As an etiquette trainer, how do you think inner and outer beauty relate to one another? A: Oh I think it has got a direct relationship. Firstly, when you feel good, you will behave the same way. You feel good, you look good. We all know that. It is a cliché, but it is true. When you exercise, have the right diet and everything, your body will be very healthy. Your face glows, and you feel happy, you’re more confident, so it is actually a vicious cycle. And when you don’t eat well, you feel lethargic, you feel sick, your skin sags and you look haggard; your morale will be very low. So I think it has a direct relationship. In the exclusive interview with Epoch Times, the elegant Ser Lee also revealed to us one of her secrets for maintaining a slim body. And her answer is Aimin (Aimin Acupuncture & Weight Loss Centre). “Although I started using Aimin’s services about 6-7 months ago, I’ve already begun to see some results in terms of weight loss,” she shares excitedly. “There are so many things that I like about Aimin… like the service. The service is excellent. The people there, the dieticians and all that—they’re very knowledgeable, so they’re able to advise and guide you along, and even the masseurs and acupuncturists, they’re very knowledgeable,” she adds.

Q: How did you first get to know of Aimin? A: I had already known about Aimin from the advertisements and they’re also pretty well-known. I also had a friend who knew the boss and recommended it to me. I was really very impressed with the things that they do, like the weight loss programme. It was so coincidental that someone recommended it to me, and said “Why don’t you go to Aimin and see what they can do for you?” So yes, I was over the moon, so I thought okay, I might as well. That’s how I got acquainted with Aimin. Q: So how about the programmes and services you do at Aimin? Tell us more about them. A: They have dieticians, so they actually plan my diet for me and advise me on what I should and should not eat so that I can maintain my weight. I also go there for slimming and weight loss programmes. I am constantly on TV and I have many projects going on with Channel 8, so I have to maintain my weight. I went for the slimming and acupuncture sessions, and took advice from the dieticians.
There are so many things that I like about Aimin… The service is excellent. The people there …they’re very knowledgeable. Ms Teo Ser Lee Q: What kind of changes have you undergone since starting Aimin’s programmes? A: I think I’m more watchful of my diet. They were able to adjust my diet so that I would not have to starve to lose weight. They only had to tweak my diet a little bit to see the results. At the same time, the acupuncture and the massage actually really helps to tone you up. I do my regular jogging and swimming and all that, but the process is very slow. It’s as if you need to do 100 hours to see a little effect. But when they do acupuncture, on top of your own exercises, it really accelerates the process. Although I started using Aimin’s services about 6-7 months ago, I’ve already begun to see some results in
terms of weight loss. But the dieticians are able to tweak my diet such that I can still maintain and cut down on my weight despite my schedule, so I find that it’s very effective. On top of that, I used to have some parts that were very flabby, and no matter how much I swum, exercised or carried weights, there was not much I could do. But after the massaging and toning, it was so effective that my family members actually began to see the changes and even asked me what I did! Q: Can you tell us some of the advice that the dieticians give you? A: The usual habits, like taking more vegetables and fruits and so on, which we already know. But what is crucial is that they are able to tell you when you are supposed to take what, which a lot of us aren’t familiar with. For example, they’ll tell you to just take a slice of fruit in the morning before you go jogging and after you come back from jogging. Laymen like us, we just know that we have to take fruits in the morning just after we finish our jog, but just that little tweak makes it a lot more effective because the calories burn much faster as well. They tell you too: during your afternoon tea break, make sure you drink water and nothing else. But for us, we will have a cup of Milo or coffee. But just that little tweak to switch to a glass of water is more effective. So I find these little, little pieces of advice very good, though it takes a lot of discipline to follow through. Q: Will you recommend the facial treatment to our readers, and why? A: The facial treatment was good. It was intense and the products they used were excellent. Incorporating expert movements and attentive hands, beauty results are immediately visible with optimal skin care benefits that last. You will certainly be in for a treat!
Q: What are some things you like best about Aimin? A: There are so many things that I like about Aimin… like the service. The service is excellent. The people there, the dieticians, acupuncturists and masseurs and all that—they’re very knowledgeable, so they’re able to advise and guide you along. In fact, even the support staff are very friendly and very customer-oriented, and that is the thing I enjoy most. In every slimming centre, wherever you go to, even in hair salons, they offer the same products and treatment. But it’s the service that puts them apart from the rest of their competition, so I think that’s very important. I feel very comfortable here. Prior to Aimin, I’ve been to several other slimming centres that are also sponsors, but sometimes you just don’t feel so comfortable because sometimes they treat you as a non-paying guest, so they simply go through the motions. But they treat everybody the same here, and everyone is truly their customer. Their programmes are very effective, and I find the slimming programme very good. If you are someone who is more overweight or obese, you will see a drastic change and I think that is very, very good and very important. This is one thing that I find effective and it is why we go to any weight management company anyway, which is to see effects. Q: If you could recommend only one service to our readers, which would you recommend? A: I think they are the experts in the weight loss and slimming programme, so I would strongly recommend that people come for this one. They have got other services such as facials and all that, but they will probably be an add-on to the core programme. So come for their core slimming programme!
