From the Editor's Desk By Iqra Ashraf Dear Readers, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the students the very best for their final term examination and my heartily prayers for outgoing classes who are busy in giving their public examination. Remember, Faith is the only magic ingredient that can ensure success and eliminate failure in our lives. We are either controlled by Positive or Negative.One of the two emotions will control you and dominate you, its either FEAR or FAITH.You are living with either of the two! Never surrender your destiny or leaderships to fear for you to say HELLO TO SUCCESS and FAREWELL to FAILURE.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES A bee is never as busy as it seems; it's just that it can't buzz any slower. -Kin Hubbard BFPIS has been extremely busy throughout this month concentrating more on academic progress of students as it was almost the end of the session and moreover a very crucial time for board classes. BFPIS conducted mock examination for IX and X matric classes successfully as it turned out to be a fruitful opportunity for students who got to know their weak areas and most importantly they were able to overcome their fears and get familiar to more conducive atmosphere of examination before appearing for final board examination. The faculty of BFPIS was highly involved in making revision plans and remedial strategies in order to prepare students well for their final term examination.The senior faculty was no less busy in going through the last revision session of their board classes as they reviewed past papers thoroughly making students familiar with the kind of anticipated questions and extensive amount of practice was accomplished to clear every doubt of student.Hence, all queries were handled effectively to ensure excellence in academics.BFPIS wishes best of luck to outgoing classes and to every student who is appearing for examination.God be with you always!!! FAREWELL PARTY: SAYING GOODBYE to XII FSc & A2 LEVEL BFPIS held a grand Farewell Party for its outgoing Class XII students both for girls and boys. Students wore colourful outfits and the stage was beautifully set up. They prepared humorous skits and song dedications for both the teachers and the students. They also prepared melodious songs and a slideshow showing old memories in the form of pictures and videos. Students gave moving speeches about their time at BFPIS and reminisced about past events with the people present, while others amused and impressed the audience with dances, songs and a humorous award ceremony. There was also a slideshow of pictures that took outgoing seniors down memory lane. Nostalgia was definitely in the air. While speaking on the occasion, the principal Mr. Imran Waheed wished the senior students all the success in their future endeavours.The entertaining party ended with a sumptuous lunch and, of course, lots of heartfelt goodbyes. 3|Page

PARENTS’ TEACHER MEETING BFPIS considers Parent-Teacher Meetings to be vital as regular communication between teachers and parents are significant to the students' success. The Parent-Teacher Meeting of the academic year 2013-2014 was organized on March 6 to discuss the progress of the students with their parents. The meeting focused on the parents' concerns and to discuss the students' progress in detail. As this is an ideal time to garner parents' opinions so that the students perform well in final term examination. Comment boxes were placed around the school to ensure confidentiality, giving parents the freedom to comment anonymously on the services provided by the school. The session was a success as parents expressed their satisfaction through positive feedback.

DECLAMATION CONTESTOF CLASSES IV-V AND VI-VIII English Debate Competition was held at BFPIS between classes IV-V and VI-VIII on March 10 2014. The topic for class IV-V was 'Computer is essential for Studies', class VI-VIII students debated on the subject “Boys/Girls are better than Girls/Boys� .Heated debate followed as the participants presented their stance very persuasively. The topics under debate were very relevant and thought provoking .All the participants confidently took their turn at the podium, articulating their views and presenting their arguments. The audience was left with much food for thought.

The judges were teachers of English department named Mrs. Sadia, Ms. Sumeira Mohsin and Ms.Iqra Ashraf. They could not help but remark on the poise and level of confidence in the children and had a difficult time deciding the results. 23rd MARCH CELEBRATION AT BFPIS BFPIS celebrated Pakistan Day on March 23 with great fervor and enthusiasm to commemorate the most outstanding achievement of the Muslims of South Asia who passed the historic ‘Pakistan Resolution’ on this day at Lahore in 1940.Although it was exam time for the students and they were busy with their final revisions, the students managed to put up an amazing show that day.Keeping in mind the theme of the event, the stage was decked with Pakistani flag of green and white colors and posters of Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal provided the backdrop.The programme started with the recitation of the Holy Quran.Students from different classes presented patriotic songs, conducted quiz competition and delivered enthralling speeches. The young artists of BFPIS dressed in traditional Pakistani attires staged folkloric and musical performances, which were well received by the audience.The highlight of the event was a musical performance by students on a medley of folk songs depicting the vibrant cultures of the provinces of Pakistan. The students were dressed up beautifully and were completely in sync with each other. The performances were greatly applauded by the audience.The event was concluded with national anthem of Pakistan and the Principal Mr.Imran Waheed spoke to the students emphasizing the need for education in a developing country like Pakistan and how education can drastically change the lives of these students. Mr.Tahir Chaudary,Board of Trustees was the chief guest of the event.He praised the ambience,discipline and artistic display of events,which reflected true colours of Pakistan at BFPIS.

AMAZING ACHIEVEMENT IN URDU SPEECH The students of BFPIS made us proud yet again by bagging a number of prizes in Urdu Speech Competition which was organized by Shaheen Forum – Halqa E Ahbab Qatar for Pakistani community on 22nd March 2014.The competition comprised of two categories such as Junior Category (for classes 1 to 8) and Senior Category (for classes 9 and above).The topics for junior and senior group were “Youm E Pakistan Meri Shan Meri Aan” and “Youm E Pakistan Tajdeed Ahad Ka Din” respectively. In the senior category Saad Sarwar (X-O’ Level) was declared 1st in the competition and in the junior group Abdur Rehman Abid (VIII-O’Level) was successful in attaining 2nd position.The successful contestants were well appreciated by teachers and students as they were acknowledged by principal Mr.Imran Waheed at a special assembly in which they were given their certificates.

TRAINING TEACHERS ABOUT CRITICAL THINKING Thinking critically is one thing, but being able to teach it can be quite another.Mr.ShakeelAhmedconducted a Training Session on Critical Thinking. The objective of the workshop was to brief the teachers on how to leverage critical-thinking skills in their classrooms. The teachers took part in various group and pair activities in order to explore the techniques used to develop critical thinking skills in children.

JUNIOR WING ACTIVITIES Speech and Debate Competition-DEBATING CHAMPIONS OF I-III CLASSES BFPIS Junior Wing students participated in the much-anticipated Declamation Contest for Classes I-III which was held on March 12, 2014. The event showcased the talent and enthusiasm of students who proved that if something is worth doing it is worth doing well. The event was well-organised and the contestants made it a success with their dynamic participation as they were enthusiastic and shared their views against or in favour of the allocated topic. The generous applause from the audience boosted the participants' morale and rewarded the efforts of the staff and administration. All the participants were appreciated for their performance and certificates were given to the winners.

MORNING ASSEMBLY ON THE TOPIC “CLEANLINESS” BFPIS Junior Wing conducted a special assembly on “CLEANLINESS”. The KG-I (Blue) students gave an outstanding presentation on importance of cleanliness. The KG students sang English and Urdu Poems "The Little Dickey Birds" and “Dhobi Aya” with great enthusiasm. The little ones presented cards to the junior staff and also thanked their teachers for their hard work,in making them learn different measures to help fight unhygienic environment.

MORNING ASSEMBLY ON THE SUBJECT “SHAPES” The toddlers of KG-I (RED) presented a morning assembly on 'Shapes'. This assembly was meant to introduce young children to some of the basic 2D SHAPES. The tiny ones came up to the stage with different shapes attached to them. Each shape had something to say for itself. The whole presentation was very colourful and attracted the attention of the spectators. The assembly ended with a melodious song sung by the students such as “Traffic Light” and “Dekho Bacho Hathi Aya”.

PEOPLE AT BFPIS MUHAMMAD NASIM DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Muhammad Nasim has been one of the most meritorious and consummated teacher of BFPIS. He joined school in the primitive years of its amelioration on 17th August 1999. He has been serving this school for the past 14 years with intrepidity and integrity. He started his career with Roots School System in 1993 as a karate coach and later joined a well-established institute called Beaconhouse School system in Rawalpindi, Pakistan in 1994 and worked there till 1999. Previously he was in charge of the discipline committee and currently he is an obtrusive member of the discipline committee. He now precedes the choir and is involved in the coordination for the sound system and stage systematization. He has led the young generation of this school to buildup engrossment for gamesmanship. Loyalty and simplicity of such deserving teachers will lead BFPIS to reach the ultimate levels.
MRS.NAJAMA NADEEM DEPARTMENT OF URDU
Mrs. Najma Nadeem is one of the phenomenal and most prominent teachers this school has ever had. Joining BFPIS in the early days of April 2001, she has had a remarkable journey and experienced a lot in teaching and supervising.Mrs. Najma has been a member of this school for last 13 years and has taught various classes. She holds a master degree in Urdu language as a qualification along with 13 years of teaching experience. She has also served as the coordinator at BFPIS for 2 years and as the assistant coordinator for one and a half year.Previously, she was in charge of activity committee and girls scout. Currently she is member of the discipline committee and an Urdu teacher for senior classes. Till date, she has been serving this school with great earnestness and Page pleasure. MOAZZAM HANIF DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS
Mr.Moazzam Hanif is one of the most conscientious and knowledgeable teachers of BFPIS.He has been benefitting the organization for last 12 years.He holds a degree of MSc Physics from Quaid-e-Azam university .Presently he is serving as HOD of Physics.Since beginning he has taught various classes and currently he is diligent teacher of senior classes.His students of As and A2 were successful in producing an exceptional academic result.Certainly, he has a lasting inspirational impact that follows his students throughout their life. He is passionate about teaching and working with his pupil.He is always found in a constant quest for knowledge and proved to be an effective teacher who demonstrates commitment to students and profession effectively. His big and small achievements have made the school incredibly pleased and delighted to have him as a part of the institute.
MRS.SHAHEEN AKHTAR DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
Mrs.Shaheen Akhtar is one of the most highly motivated and well organized teachers of the school.She joined BFPIS on September 9, 2003. She holds degree of Msc Chemistry from Quaid e Azam University. She was a member of the Discipline Committee of BFPIS and has served as an assistant coordinator of senior girls’ campus for almost two years.Currently, she is working as a senior wing girls’coordinator.She started as Science teacher and later started teaching Chemistry to senior classes till date. Teaching board classes she has always inspired students to produce a noteworthy result of A* showing her excellence in academics.Mrs.Shaheen Akhtar truly possess an exceptional grit necessary to make the personal sacrifices to ensure that every goal is achieved 22 | P a g e perfectly.BFPIS is exceptionally pleased to have such cooperative,trustworthy and sophisticated teacher who is a genuine asset for the progress of an organization.

BRIGHT STAR OF BFPIS:AISHA ABDUL QUDDUS
Aisha Abdul Qudoos is an incredibly bright student of BFPIS. She is considered as what is said as “star” of the school. As a student, she is active and observant. Her academic accomplishments have been remarkable. She is the first student to secure an A* in Pakistan Studies in the history of the institute and has also persevered to cease an A* in Islamiat and A grade in Urdu. Hence, maintaining an overall spectacular result in IGCSE. She is counted among the toppers of the school. She has not only achieved a milestone in her academics but also has an outstanding record of her dedicated and wholehearted participation in extra-curricular activities.She has contended in numerous speech and debate contests and has also received awards for shining her talent in Urdu debates and amusing speeches. She owns a number of prizes from Ehsas foundation for her oration. She possesses a dynamic talent in writing and has penned for magazines, as well. She, along with her team members representing BFPIS, was ardently involved in National Robot Olympiad and World Robot Olympiad held in Abu Dhabi. Her big and small achievements as a student caught the attention of Radio Qatar Urdu Service 107 FM and she was welcomed as a guest to be interviewed. Aisha’s achievements are parallel to none. She has made the school substantially proud and has extended a lot of glory to the school’s esteem.

Omar Ijaz really deserves to be called a diligent student.He is strongminded who never feels hopeless and has the courage to stand up to challenges.Nevertheless he is an exceptionally disciplined and assiduous student who has performed miraculous result in both IGCE and GCE.In 2012,he was able to score straight 3A* and 1A in IGCE and the very next year in GCE he attained 7As in all subjects.His teachers report that he possesses a genuine zeal for learning and truly is a 23 source | P a gof e inspiration for students.BFPIS is truly proud to have such competent and ambitious student.
