MASERATI GRANTURISMO TROFEO

Welcome to EQ’s Hamptons issue!

We kick things of at Montauk’s Maple Villas, two stunning examples of modernist architecture by Piero Lissoni, listed by Kyle Rosko of Douglas Elliman. Perched above the Atlantic, these villas were the stage for our cover shoot, featuring the sleek Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo. This Italian marvel feels as at home on Montauk’s coastal drives as on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, charming all onlookers. In a playful showdown, the Maserati and the villas competed for the spotlight—proving that in the Hamptons, even homes and cars can engage in a little friendly rivalry. Just a stone’s throw away, Kieran Brew’s listing at 6 Hamilton Drive invites us to dream bigger. With its commanding ocean views and impeccable design, it reminds us why we endure the LIE traffic— because the destination is worth every honked horn.

As we take our leisure from land to sea, Nomad Yachts beckon us for a jaunt across Gardiner’s Bay. The Nomad 101, a jewel of the fleet, boasts a semi-displacement hybrid hull and plush interior that make each voyage as grand as a black-tie gala on water - chic, smooth, and utterly captivating.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an EQ issue without a nod to exceptional cars and the visionaries behind them. This season, we dive into the world of Eccentrica, a restomod revolution that blends the nostalgic allure of the Lamborghini Diablo with the audacity of modern engineering. Spearheaded by Emanuel Colombini, Eccentrica is about more than just horsepower; it’s a tribute to the entrepreneurs who drive our passions and make the tick of innovation as thrilling as a ride down the Ocean Road.

T I MEUNLEASH ED: AUDEMA R S NOTYOURGRA

N D

FATHER'SWATCH

In the ever-spinning carousel of haute horlogerie, where every tick and tock is a testament to tradition, Audemars Piguet dares to chuck the rulebook into the mainspring. Enter the [RE]Master02 Selfwinding a horological phoenix rising from the ashes of its brutalist past, a tribute to an era when watches were wild, and squares were... well, not so square.

As any self-respecting aficionado knows, Audemars Piguet isn't just "The Royal Oak Company." Sure, the Royal Oak was a game-changer, a veritable horological revolution in stainless steel but let's not get stuck in 1972. Fast forward to 2024, and AP has turned the tables again, this time with a nod to the past that's about as subtle as a sledgehammer at a Swiss watch convention.

The [RE]Master02, with its sand gold swagger and "Bleu Nuit Nuage 50" dial, is not merely a watch; it's a statement. A brutalist brute with a heart of gold (literally 18K sand gold), this piece is as audacious as it is shiny. AP describes its dial divided into twelve triangles, creating a light show that would have even the most stoic of English gentlemen discreetly nodding in approval.

Limited to a mere 250 pieces, the [RE]Master02 is as exclusive as a polite conversation on the London Underground. It's powered by the Calibre 7129, a movement so refined it makes a cup of Earl Grey seem

downright boorish. This engine offers a 52-hour power reserve just enough to outlast your weekend escapades at the country estate.

At 41mm, this is not a watch for the faint-wristed. It's a full-blooded tribute to Audemars Piguet's commitment to making watches that aren't just worn, but paraded. Priced at a cool $47,200, it’s the kind of accessory that says, "Yes, I do have a butler for my butler."

For those about to fork out nearly fifty grand, we salute you. The [RE]Master02 isn't just a timepiece; it's a piece of time, re-mastered for those who believe that the past isn't something you look back on, but something you strap on your wrist and show off at parties.

So, if your heart yearns for the golden days of yore with a modern twist that could twist your arm then the [RE]Master02 might just be your new best friend. Just remember, it doesn't tick tock; it practically talks.

MASERATI GRANTURISMO TROFEO RIDING THE 2024

FROM TRIBECA’S URBAN CHIC TO MONTAUK’S COASTAL CHARM

THE MASERATI TAKES CENTER STATE WITH ITS SLEEK BONNET AND ASSERTIVE GRILL

As dawn breaks over Tribeca, the city holds its breath, anticipating the day’s spectacle. The star? The 2024 Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo. More than just a car, it’s today’s protagonist, embarking from the vibrant streets of Tribeca to the laid-back, surfer chic vibe of Montauk. Destination: EQ Magazine’s cover shoot at Maple Villas, where two stunningly modern homes rise majestically above the Atlantic. Here, the charismatic Maserati, with its sleek bonnet and assertive grille, commands the scene against a dramatic backdrop of full-glass facades and sweeping ocean vistas.

The Maserati’s cabin, a sanctuary of rich leather and fine acoustics, feels like an exclusive club. Its gentle growl, a contrast to Manhattan’s soft hum, commands the city’s arteries with regal composure.

Once on the Long Island Expressway, the Trofeo reveals its dual nature. A flick into Corsa mode transforms it from a refined cruiser to a formidable track beast. This car isn’t just flexible; it’s versatile, with four distinct driving modes Comfort, GT, Sport, and Corsa each designed to optimize the driving experience from plush relaxation in Comfort to the aggressive dynamism in Corsa. The engine’s growl deepens, gears snap crisply, and every throttle press pumps adrenaline through its veins. Underneath the bonnet, the Nettuno V6, inspired by the MC20, unleashes 542 horsepower, seamlessly orchestrating these varied driving experiences.

The journey evolves as we reach the Hamptons. A stop at Sant Ambroeus in Southampton offers a moment to soak in the chic ambiance before we cruise through Sagaponack and Amagansett. In each village, the Maserati turns heads, drawing queries and admiring glances. The drive through the Hamptons past scenic vistas, charming farmer’s markets, and quaint streets is as much a social interaction as it is a scenic tour. The car’s presence enhances each encounter, sparking conversations and eliciting thumbs-ups from car aficionados, reflecting the Trofeo’s allure as a true conversation starter.

Upon arrival at the Maple Villas, the Maserati is perfectly at home. Developed by Alessandro Zampedri and crafted by Lissoni Partners New York, these homes are not just structures; they are a confluence of art, architecture, and coastal living. Kyle Rosko from Elliman captures this sentiment: “These homes are bold statements, where design and lifestyle meet the horizon.”

Zampedri reflects on the Maserati’s role in today’s shoot: “Selecting the GranTurismo Trofeo for the EQ cover shoot was strategic. Its elegant lines and assertive presence beautifully complement the Maple Villas’ luxurious, forward-thinking design.”

And so, as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in golds and pinks, our day’s journey with the GranTurismo Trofeo draws to a gentle close. It’s a narrative not just of miles traversed but of moments captured a drive shaped by the rhythmic pulse of Italian craftsmanship and the exhilarating echoes of Maserati’s storied racing legacy. In this Maserati, every journey is an elegant procession, each destination a testament to a life lived with passion and speed.

MONTAUK’S MAPLE VILLAS:

A VISION IN GLASS & STONE

DISCOVER MODERN MINIMALISM AND BREATHTAKING OCEAN VISTAS

Along the tranquil shores of Montauk, the Maple Villas rise as masterpieces of form and function, designed by architect Piero Lissoni and developed by Alessandro Zampedri of JK Living, each villa priced at $18.5 million and $19.5 million seamlessly integrates with the rolling bluffs along Old Montauk Highway. “The homes uniquely maximize the breathtaking view of the Atlantic, integrating the natural elevation into every aspect of their design,” notes Kyle Rosko of Douglas Elliman.

“THE DESIGN OF EACH HOME NATURALLY LENDS ITSELF TO ENTERTAINMENT, ALL FRAMED BY ENDLESS OCEAN VIEWS”
—ALESSANDRO ZAMPEDRI

Crafted with Lissoni’s signature sleek, minimalist style, the Maple Villas flaunt a design that’s a visual symphony of stone, glass, and steel. “Working with Alessandro and his team was a great experience. They not only executed the vision with perfection but also elevated it, resulting in a final product that is both high-quality and unique. I have no doubt it will be highly successful,” adds Harrison Rowen of Urban Standard Capital, the lender who provided the financing. The interiors? They parade unmatched luxury. Each villa occupies roughly 9,000 square feet filled with Boffi kitchens, Salvatori stone floors. “Our vision was to create spaces that are as functional as they are aesthetically pleasing, where every detail from the floor tiles to the light fixtures contributes to a cohesive narrative of modem elegance, “ Zampedri elaborates.

But the pièce de résistance of each property isn’t just its design it’s the ability to transform from a peaceful retreat into a spiffing stage for Hamptons soirees. “The design of each home naturally lends itself to entertainment, with spaces that transition effortlessly from indoor to outdoor, all framed by endless ocean views,” adds Zampedri.

The Maple Villas served as the backdrop for EQ Magazine’s Hamptons Issue cover shoot, featuring the stunning Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo. “Selecting the Maple Villas for our cover was an obvious choice,” says Daniel Hilpert, publisher of EQ Magazine. “Their bold architecture and the Maserati both embody peak aesthetic and performance.”

If you’re in search of modern minimalism in Montauk, paired with some of the most incredible views on the East Coast, then the Maple Villas are the perfect choice. And as Zampedri playfully notes, “Once you arrive, the only difficult decision will be which villa to choose.”

Eccentrica’s limited-edition inspired by the Lamborghini Diablo

EQ: Could you share more about the inspiration behind Eccentrica and the collaboration with BorromeodeSilva studio and other renowned engineering experts and technical partners?

EC: My lifelong passion for Lamborghini, especially the Diablo, inspired Eccentrica. Collaborating with BorromeodeSilva and other technical partners, we aimed to blend the best features of various Diablo versions into a unique restomod. Our goal was to enhance the design while maintaining quality standards comparable to the world’s best car manufacturers.

EQ: The Eccentrica prototype boasts distinctive features such as “pop-down headlights” and titanium elements created with 3D printing technology. How do these features contribute to the overall driving experience and the car’s identity?

“ECCENTRICA BLENDS PETROLFUELED PASSIONS WITH INNOVATIVE DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY.”

EQ: The interior design of Eccentrica is described as a mix of 1990s minimalism and state-of-the-art mechanics. Can you elaborate on the design choices and how they enhance both comfort and aesthetics for the driver?

EQ: The technical specifications of Eccentrica are impressive, with a top speed of 335 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. How does Eccentrica balance the nostalgia of the classic Diablo with these highperformance features?

EC: While preserving the nostalgic appeal of the classic Diablo, Eccentrica emphasizes Lamborghini’s performance legacy. The naturally aspirated V12 mid-engine, six-speed manual gearbox, and rear-wheel drive elevate the restomod’s overall performance.

EQ: With Eccentrica being produced in only 19 custom models, how do you plan to handle the high demand and customization requests?

“THE POSITIVE FEEDBACK ON DETAILS, ESPECIALLY FROM SUPERCAR OWNERS, IS GRATIFYING.”
—EMANUEL COLOMBINI

EC: Community building is vital for us, and we’ve been fortunate to find enthusiasts from the unveiling who became our first customers. We aim to establish a personal connection with each customer, allowing them to customize their Eccentrica during a configuration session in Italy, fostering uniqueness and character in each of the 19 models.

EQ: After the debut in Italy and the Goodwood Festival of Speed, what are the upcoming plans for the Eccentrica launch, especially in the USA?

EC: Following the successful debut, Eccentrica continued its presence in the United States, consolidating during the Monterey Car Week and various events. The global tour took over Japan and the Middle East, but we plan to return to the US for the unveiling of the first production car at the Quail during the Monterey Car Week 2024.

Redefining REAL ESTATE for CAR COLLECTORS

AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

WITH SCOTT CUNNINGHAM, FOUNDER OF THE HANGAR GROUP

WRITTEN

Join EQ Magazine's publisher, Daniel Hilpert, as he sits down for a friendly chat with Scott Cunningham, the mastermind behind The Hangar Group. Prepare to be transported into the world of posh real estate tailored especially for motorheads, as Daniel delves into the spark, savvy, and community spirit driving The Hangar Group's unique approach. From the genesis of the idea to its plans for expansion and beyond, get ready for an insightful exploration of how The Hangar Group is reshaping luxury living for car connoisseurs.

EQ: The Hangar presents a new class of real estate. Can you elaborate on the vision behind this concept, emphasizing The Hangar Group's role in providing specialized properties as a blank canvas for car collectors? What inspired you to start a real estate business catering to the car collector market?

Scott Cunningham (SC): The inception of The Hangar Group stemmed from my personal journey. It all began in my own garage when I acquired my dream Ferrari. Feeling it deserved a setting as magnificent as itself, I sought to recreate the ambiance of the Ferrari dealership where I purchased it, complete with custom finishes and memorabilia. However, practicality led me to lease a warehouse for my collection. Dissatisfied with the attention it drew, I stumbled upon the idea while hanging out in a friend's airplane hangar, realizing the unique and special environment it provided. Thus, The Hangar was conceived – a sanctuary for car collectors to revel in their passions privately. Each Hangar is owned, not rented, offering a blank canvas for limitless customization and design possibilities.

EQ: Following the successful launch in Riviera Beach, what influenced the decision to expand with a second location in West Palm Beach, particularly in close proximity to Palm Beach International Airport?

SC: The overwhelming demand from existing owners for a second location, coupled with their desire for a larger space within close proximity, spurred the expansion to the PBIA location, which is five times the size of the first.

EQ: Are there plans to expand into new markets to meet the growing need for such specialized properties?

SC: Absolutely, we have plans to expand into additional key markets within the US.

EQ: The bespoke condominiums at The Hangar offer a high standard of construction fully customizable to owners'

preferences. Can you provide examples of how owners can personalize their spaces for car collectors, and are there any innovative design features in the works for future projects?

SC: Recent designs include a gallery wall featuring an extensive guitar collection, minimalist displays of wine alongside collectible vehicles, and vibrant murals showcasing automotive memorabilia. We continue to explore innovative design features to cater to our clients' evolving tastes.

EQ: Security and privacy are paramount at The Hangar, with state-of-the-art surveillance and a full-time concierge. How do these features ensure the safety of owners' possessions, and are there plans to incorporate new technologies or protocols in upcoming projects?

SC: Our top priority is security, ensured through gated access, 24/7 live monitoring, AI motion cameras, and license plate readers. We remain committed to integrating cutting-edge technologies to uphold the highest standards of safety and privacy.

"EACH HANGAR IS OWNED, NOT RENTED, OFFERING A BLANK CANVAS FOR LIMITLESS CUSTOMIZATION AND DESIGN POSSIBILITIES."

EQ: The new West Palm Beach location is set for completion in summer 2024. What unique amenities can potential buyers expect, and are there any exclusive offerings catering to car collectors?

SC: Potential buyers can expect exclusive access to amenities such as the private owners' lounge, boardrooms, golf and driving simulators, and a rooftop sunset deck. Adjacent to the PBIA location is Airfield Park, featuring superior construction ideal for families with extensive assets, including wine or art collections.

—SCOTT CUNNINGHAM

EQ: The units at The Hangar range in size. How can these units be combined, and what advantages does this flexibility offer owners with larger collections?

SC: Walls separating each Hangar can be omitted or removed post-construction, allowing for customization based on owners' space needs, with no building code restrictions on combining units.

EQ: The community aspect within each Hangar facility resembles a private club. Can you provide insights into the social events and community-building initiatives focusing on the shared passion for car collecting?

"WE ORGANIZE SOCIAL AND DRIVING EVENTS, INCLUDING THE ANNUAL 'HANGAR CRAWL', WHERE OWNERS OPEN THEIR HANGARS TO SHOWCASE AND SHARE THEIR COLLECTION.”
—SCOTT CUNNINGHAM

SC: We organize social and driving events, including the annual "Hangar Crawl," where owners open their Hangars to showcase and share their collections, fostering camaraderie within the community.

EQ: How does The Hangar Group approach designing properties that go beyond storing cars to creating a haven for car collectors, and are there evolving aspects of this vision shaping future projects?

SC: In addition to storing cars, owner amenities include golf simulators, an owners' lounge, boardrooms, and a rooftop sunset deck, with evolving visions shaping future projects to meet our clients' diverse needs.

EQ: As someone deeply involved in the car collector community, do you have a personal collection? If so, could you share details about your most prized pieces and any new additions you're eyeing?

SC: As a passionate car collector, my collection spans an assortment of Porsches, Ferraris, Ducatis, and more. I eagerly await the space in the new PBIA location to expand my collection further.

Escape the Hamptons Hustle with NOMAD YACHTS

Ah, summer in the Hamptons. You can almost hear the chorus of boat horns mingling with the perennial grumbles about the traffic. Yes, as the mercury climbs, so does the population, swelling until every favorite nook, from bistros to beaches, bristles with buzzing Hamptonites and their guests. But the true herald of summer isn’t just the lines at your cherished brunch spots it’s the transformation of Sag Harbor. Gone are the stark, barren masts of winter, replaced by the ballet of sails and yachts that dance upon the waters, each a promise of escape from the mundane.

Among these seasonal debutantes, none make an entrance quite like the Nomad Yachts. These aren’t just boats; they’re floating rebuttals to every cliché of maritime escapism. If summer in the Hamptons is a blockbuster, Nomad Yachts are the scene-stealers, turning heads with their sleek contours and sophisticated swagger.

When Nomad Yachts first sailed into the limelight at the 2015 Dubai International Boat Show, they didn’t just join the fleet; they led the parade. Picture less of a boat cabin and more of a regal residence on the water. With sleek designs that might even make the ocean’s swiftest residents take a second look, Nomad Yachts redefine the concept of floating luxury.

Forget the traditional boat image; the Nomad line, from the robust Nomad 65 to the stately Nomad 95 SUV, features a semidisplacement hybrid hull a marvel of maritime engineering. What’s this, you ask? It’s essentially the nautical sibling of a luxury all-terrain vehicle. This hull design allows these yachts to glide through turbulent seas with the grace of a ballet dancer, ensuring your journey is as smooth as the top-shelf spirits served on board.

Envision yourself aboard the Nomad 101, the fleet’s flagship. Surrounded by an expanse of blue that seems to exist just for your gaze, this isn’t just any yacht; it’s a three-tiered maritime marvel stretching over 30 meters. It’s spacious enough to host a party of ten guests along with six crew members, all while offering the amenities of a top-tier hotel yes, think of it as a posh resort that floats. This luxurious vessel isn’t just about comfort; it’s engineered for adventure. The Nomad 101 is masterfully designed for true explorers. Its reduced beam and draft not only enhance stability and speed but also allow remarkable maneuverability. This design enables the yacht to access the most secluded coves and hidden coastal treasures of the Caribbean and Mediterranean with ease. Its streamlined form slices through the water precisely, while the thoughtful layout maximizes both comfort and utility. As you explore these untouched waters, consider the freedom found in reaching places few have charted before.
