Dear Corporate Leader, On October 8-11, 2015 the STANCIL FAMILY is throwing our class reunion that give back to the community at the Indigo hotel. This years events will include Class of 75 Gala, Homecoming Football Game, Breakfast Meet and Greet, Hornet Brunch, a Old School Basketball Game, Blue Carpet Affair, Inspirational Speakers, and Sunday Service. Our focus will be on giving scholarships to deserving seniors at Hillside High. This years theme is, Striving To Be Great. Though we are raising most of the funds for our event, we need support to pay for the events and speakers and equipment. Our goals are to give five graduating seniors laptop computers and a $500 scholarship. We are committed to our community and to the young Hillside hornets that follow in the great tradition of excellence. Our organization’s mission is to celebrate and share our dreams with future Hornets. This is a chance to give back to the community and give our youth life-changing opportunities. Events like our fundraiser raise funds for our teens to go to college with laptops and financial support. Supporting our cause will helps us show our kids another way of life. We would be grateful if you could support our community gala and reunion. We anticipate over 125 people attending the various events. If you support us, we will include you in all marketing materials, to our website and we plan on recognizing your organization at our event. The amount you give is completely up to you. Currently, we need to raise over $3,000. Every year, more than $50 billion dollars in scholarships are given to people who come from poor families and cannot afford to pay for college. The Hillside High School Class of Seventy- Five has begun their scholarship drive that coincides with their Class Reunion. The Hillside High School Class of 1975 Annual Scholarship Gala is an event established by Hillside High School graduates to honor and recognize the academic and athletic accomplishments of graduating Hillside High School Seniors. This prestigious gala will be one of the most prominent scholarship events held in the South. This event will attract celebrities, special guests, corporate executives and dignitaries from around the country. This year’s theme is “Striving for Greatness”. Each year the gala will showcase performances including a variety of singers, actors and comedians. The gala will be held on October 9, 2015 at North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company in Durham, NC at 8pm. The program’s goal is to assist economically disadvantaged individuals in successfully entering or advancing to attend college. This year’s goal is to give laptops and $500 scholarships. Any high school Senior who attends Hillside can apply. Applicants will be asked to write an essay of 1,500 words or more on the following theme: "Why I deserve to go to college?" Entries will be judged based on creativity, content, originality, clarity, punctuation/grammar and the author's self-awareness of their goals and dreams. The Hillside High School Class of 75 scholarship team believes that any motivated individual in need should have the opportunity to further his or her education. By removing some of the financial burdens associated with going to, surviving in, and graduating from college, The Hillside High School Class of 75 scholarship team want to play a vital role in increasing college access and success for many motivated Hillside High School Seniors. Long term, the Hillside High School Class of 75 want to also provide individual grants that is paid directly to the educational institution to every student who qualifies and re-applies yearly, from admission to graduation. The grant can be used to cover tuition expenses and related supplemental educational expenses such as books, lab fees, travel and select costs of living. All Hillside High Class of Seventy Five scholars are required to “give back” by conducting community service and serving as mentors to younger, aspiring Hillside High School students.
