editor's note Romance Books, according to Wikipedia who refers to Romance Writers of America, who states; The main plot of a mass-market romance novel must revolve about the two people as they develop romantic love for each other and work to build a relationship. Both the conflict and the climax of the novel should be directly related to that core theme of developing a romantic relationship, although the novel can also contain subplots that do not specifically relate to the main characters' romantic love. Furthermore, a romance novel must have an "emotionally satisfying and optimistic ending."

Q - Tell us about your characters and how they came to be? Have they been in your head for a long time?A - So Carnal Sanctuary will end up being populated with a lot of sexy paranormal characters. Faes. Shifters. Vampires. Immortals. Succubi. All that. But the protagonist is Savannah Taggart. I’m not sure where she came from except as a narrative necessity to explore the world of Astoria, Oregon that all these crazy paranormal characters gravitate to fight and…uh…do other things. She’s a mix of a lot of different people as well as fictional characters. Some of her backstory and personality are similar to my own, but she’s mostly a commingling of strong, sexy, female protagonists from books and TV shows I’ve been devouring my entire life.
