Australia is a country that is famous for its geographical features including the Great Australian Bight, the Blue mountains and of course the Great Barrier Reef. These unique places are destinations for people all around the globe. The aim of the new Rip Curl retail store at 635 Queen St. W is to capture the essence of Rip Curls founding country. The space will project an exotic sensation by creatively employing organic forms into the structure of the interior space. The Australian geography will be symbolized in the materials and finishes to reflect the rare and exotic luxuries that come with the experience of the Australian coast.
CONCEPT STATEMENT

Mezzanine to be no more than 40% of total square footage
•
Back door recessed to be flush with the building line
•
Include operable windows, awnings and canopies at entrance to control sun, include materials with a long life cycle

Incorporate symmetry at upper levels

Do not use PVC or fibreglass windows

Additions must not include blank walls facing the public realm.

Repair rather than replace damaged or deteriorated entrance features and components.
