Trend and Design Application Project- Contemporary Dresses

Living the Juxtaposition To keep ourselves in the present, and in the reality, we go after perfection, precision, and order to keep things in control. We also believe that the facts discovered by scientists, mathematicians, specific organizations are the reality. However, when we encounter new perspectives introduced by arts, unusual events, or unordinary theories, the reorientation leads us to indulge the feeling of being lack of control and become spontaneous. The convergence of the two form a constant juxtaposition we live in and with which we learn to be in harmony. Inspired by this idea, the 2014 contemporary dress line will integrate contrasting designs, prints, structures or colors in one piece of garment. Some parts will be approached with a very structural or geometrical take; the others will incorporate great volume of fluidity and drape. The color palette will be consisted of the basic, pastels and a few of the breaking colors such as silver, red and shades of blue.

Conclusion I have some ideas of how my collection will look like after I have done the analysis. It will resemble the collections from Marc Jacob, Alexander Wang, Prada and BCBG more than the rest since I personally enjoy these collections more. Also, there is an emphasis on the “juxtaposition of my contemporary dresses line; therefore, I might integrate the opposites I have seen in these lines to create the contrast. For example, it might be interesting putting the top half of the very structural Alexander Wang dress with a more drapey bottom half of a dress from Diane Von Fustenburg.
