World Heritage Day 2021

When it comes to culture and heritage, Hyderabad is in abundance. Hyderabad was ruled by Mughals who have impacted the community of today which practices their culture. The Nizams built palaces, forts, mosques and tombs. Their designs are eloquent and bring a lot of Persian styles. However today we are taking a different turn to Hyderabad’s Heritage by talking about the widely believed notions that these sites live with.

Charminar

When we talk about heritage Charminar, A FAMOUS LANDMARK OF HYDERABAD, it comes at the tip of the list for its beautiful structure and awestruck designs. Many citizens of Hyderabad believe that there’s a hidden treasure in the walls of Charminar, as well as in the secret tunnel that leads to Golconda Fort. it is also believed that Charminar was constructed by a Nizam for his lover, who a dancer and used to perform in his darbar.

Paigah Tombs Paigah Tombs are the tombstones of the loyalists of the Nizams. Many believe that due to its abandonment, negligence and less human contact, the place attracts supernatural attention.

Qutub Shahi Tombs

Seven Tomb or famously called Saath Gummath in Hyderabad consist of mosques and graves of many rulers from the Qutb Shahi period. Although the great monument attracts many tourists to the site, many residents avoid visiting the place due to the tombstones, it has been said that people hear weird sounds and noises after 6 PM.

Golconda Fort

Golconda Fort also called the shepherd’s hill was famous for its vault that stored diamonds like Kohinoor and the hope diamond. It is widely believed that there’s a tunnel that leads to Charminar and it was built in case of emergencies, if any ruler had to flee the fort during an attack, they’d take the tunnel to escape.

Taramati Baradari

Taramati Baradari was an olden day roadside inn for travellers, where two sisters Taramati and Premamati would dance for the entertainment of the travellers, it is also said that Abdullah Qutb Shah once heard Taramati’s voice from Golconda Fort which is situated two kilometres away from the inn. People say that the spirit of Taramati to date dances at the roof of the inn and she can be heard after midnight.

Chowmahalla Palace

Chowmahalla Palace was the main residency of the Nizams during their rule. Many also believe that the Nizams had hidden their precious belonging like gold, diamonds, gems and other jewels in the walls and lawns of the Chowmahalla Palace. It is said that many people have tried their luck to hunt this treasure but have been unsuccessful.

April fools day is a great excuse to mess around with our friends without worrying about them getting annoyed because it’s practically legal. When it comes to April fools day, you can either be a prankster or the one who got pranked. We’ve gathered a few pranks for you to try out with your friends and family.

The Whipped Cream Prank

The only thing you need is some whipped cream. Make sure the person you want to prank is asleep. Add the whipped cream on the person’s hand and start to slightly tickle the person’s nose, in the next few seconds, they’ll begin to have an itching sensation on their nose and will splash the whipped cream hand on their face, don’t forget to record this ordeal!

Coin In A Bottle Prank

For this prank, you’ll need a coin, a bottle and someone to prank. Ask the person you want to prank stand at a distance from the table where you will place the bottle, ask them to watch carefully, place the coin bottle and then slowly slid your hand down with the bottle and then up while sliding up slowly grab the coin, you’ll have to make this move quick, now act like you pushed the coin into the bottle and ask your friend to look into the bottle top to see for themselves, when they do so, squeeze the bottle, and the water inside it will splash on their face, it’s a classic.

Cracked TV Screen

Pull this prank on your dad, search on you tube cracked screen video, pick the one the suit well your you. Play the video, get a sibling with you on this, fake an argument loud enough for your parents to hear in the other room, then make a fist and hit a wooden table, either you or your sibling could start shout to call your dad to see that one of threw something at the TV and broke, Trust us on this one, the look on your dad’s face will be hilarious!

“A hilarious prank that I pulled was on my cousin, who was on vacation and he decided to spend a few days with us in Saudi Arabia, for some reason he believes that, Saudi Arabia being an Islamic country attracted more Jinns than other places, I also knew he gets scared easily, I saw the opportunity and grabbed it. At night when he slept, me and sister, wore scary ghost mask and gorilla mask, we began to make scary sounds, he got up and screamed I guess he was really scared cause he instantly fell asleep, and his body was still in shock so he woke up again looked at us, screamed and fainted, we then woke him up and gave him some water, he’s okay now. “ Maleeha Khan - Founder, Sweve.in “ During my summer vacations, while I was in school. “One of the best pranks that I or rather we pulled out dates back to 2016. Just try to imagine, what's gonna be your first thought if, after a great sleep on your cosy bed, you suddenly wake up on a football field. Well, yes this is what we did, with one of our teammates. After a 3-day train journey, from Bhubaneswar to Guwahati, we finally got an "opportunity" to sleep. It was IIT-G campus and we were there for a robotics event, which was about to start at 10 am sharp. But this one teammate just denied waking up. Well, now you can imagine what would have happened to this dear friend of ours. Except for the fact, that he slept in the dorm and woke up in the common "bathroom" of the boy’s hostel. I feel kinda sorry for him, but It was fun.”
