A multi-talented personality, Mr. Sunil Naidu sat with us over a cup of cappuccino to talk about his life and the various roles he has to play on a daily basis. Being a manager to celebrities he shares how they’ve become his family. He is a true believer in the power of experience and the everlasting urge to learn, he spoke about how each day has to be better than the other in order to succeed.

Tell us something about yourself? Well, I started off my career as a professional cricketer representing the State of Hyderabad in the U-19’s, 22’s and 25’s. I did my MBA in Strategic Marketing and Sports Management from UTS, Sydney, post which, I started off working with Deccan Chargers and then drifted to Sunrisers Hyderabad and was Heading the Marketing & Operations for the Franchise during my tenure out there. I later shifted to the entertainment field wherein I started off representing Mr. Allu Arjun and was handling his Brand Endorsements and then started to increase my portfolio with other Stars from the South like Mr. Varun Tej, Mr. Dharam Tej, Mr. Vijay Sethupathi, and Ms. Nidhi Agrawal to name a few. Now I deal with Infilm Marketing, Movie Syndication, Brand Endorsements & Individual Strategies for Development, Marketing Strategy & Promotions of Movies.

What is a typical day like in your life? Well, most of my days start off with calls and a lot happens on the phone. I meet my clients and then accordingly plan their strategies and go into execution for the same. Everyday I look for opportunities that benefit my clients and go forward with what’s best for the perception around them.

What does it take for one to succeed in the field that you excel in? It’s just the belief in yourself to deliver and the extent to which you convert what you promise. It’s just experience and the urge to learn and be better everyday and always on the look out for opportunities which benefit the parties involved.

Tell us a funny incident that happened at work recently? Well, Funny incidents are something which I wouldn’t be aware of as my job is always like a pressure cooker and I seriously cannot afford to have funny incidents take place for it reflects on the negative side of the work we do.

You move around with celebrities on a daily basis. How do you manage to maintain an equilibrium between the glam and a regular lifestyle? In this field, they become part of your family, and the same importance given to family is given to them. Cos that’s when they know they can rely on you for anything and start to develop that required trust in you. They are your family.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? I wish I knew what happens tomorrow, cos its very fluid. I’ll let you know in 5 years time How has the journey been like in this field? It’s been a blessing so far. Hopefully it remains this way for a long time.

What is the proudest moment in your career? I always believe it’s yet to come. How much ever I accomplish in this field, there’s always scope of achieving greater heights and bettering what you did earlier. It’s a cycle year on year.
