Make-up has become an essential part of our daily routines these days whether it is a casual look or a full glam, every occasion and day demands a specific look. Over time, the kind of make-up has evolved and travelled across borders. Following the same routine can be boring after some time and we must switch up our looks once in a while to keep up with the trends and have fun with the process.

Here is a curation of different makeup aesthetics and styles you can try for the next occasion.

It is one of the first styles that pops into one’s head when you say makeup. It is the quintessential look of glamour, class, and high fashion. Glam makeup can either be full glam or soft glam depending on the setting you are going to be in and the occasion. It is characterized by luminous skin, a strong eye with winged liner and fake lashes, defined bold lips, defined brows, and sculpted contour. Full glam focuses on more coverage compared to soft glam which is toned down a little bit. It is the most popular makeup aesthetic people have been relying on for decades. Over time, with more inclination towards skincare and better makeup products, glam makeup has become a much smoother and cleaner look.

Essentials: Foundation, Concealer, Setting powder, Liner, Eye Shadow, Lipstick, False Lashes, and Contour.

No makeup look has been the talk of the town for years now where you enhance your features just enough for them to stand out but also blend in perfectly with your natural skin. Although you’ve applied makeup, it doesn’t look like it. The basic elements of this style of makeup are lighter coverage which is often achieved with BB Creams rather than foundations, rosy cheeks, fuller lashes, glossy lips, and full brows. To have such glowing and fresh makeup it is essential to exfoliate and hydrate regularly.

Essentials: BB Cream, Blush, Mascara, Lip Balm.

The Korean aesthetic has been in vogue these days which is a youthful, radiant, and dewy style. This style prioritizes skincare so that the makeup sits well on the skin. It involves minimal makeup with light coverage and natural eyes with a bit of glam if preferred. Blushes are a must and gradient lips are the classic style which is often achieved with lip tints. A few of the famous Korean brands include 3CE, Clio, and Heimish.

Essentials: Foundation, Blush, Lip Tints, Moisturizer, Eye Shadow.

The usual daily makeup involves simple elements with an accentuated eye with kajal and eyeliner, defined lips, and a little bit of coverage. A hint of blush or highlighter can alleviate this look as well. It is toned down to not much product so that applying it regularly won’t adversely affect your skin too much.

Essentials: Kajal, Eyeliner, Lipstick.

Soft girl makeup, as the name suggests is a pastel, sweet style that focuses on accentuating natural features with a signature element being blush and faux freckles. With an even skin tone, fluffy brows, shimmery popping eyes, long voluminous lashes, and glossy lips, it is more about the finishing touches than the base. Rosy, windswept cheeks are the highlight of this look. This kind of makeup is a sight for sore eyes.

Goth Makeup comprises dark themes with dark colors like black, and brown-green with heavy dramatic graphic eyeliner against a pale skin background. Contrasting features are typically seen in this style like bleached-out brows and vampy red lips. Long false eyelashes add to the intense drama. You can experiment with shades and textures within this look.
