Holes 1 through 10 and 14 through 18 have been completed with a few areas on 9 and 10 needing sod which will be completed this week Holes 11 and 12 have been rough shaped with the architect coming back in town later this week to finalize shaping before the liner is installed and sand added Hole 13 will be rough shaped later this week with completion occurring around the end of next week (page 1 continued) The bunker project continues to move along and the following has been completed:

Our desert climate is unique in terms of growing grass and we must grow two different grasses at different times of the year The golf courses ’ base turf is bermudagrass, a warm season turf that is heat and drought tolerant In the desert it gets to a point each fall where it will go dormant as temperatures drop, and it resumes growth when temperatures rise again in spring Ryegrass is a cool season grass that grows well at lower temperatures, but struggles with the high heat of the desert summer. In order to maintain actively growing green turf all year, we must overseed the bermuda with the ryegrass each fall. 4 Fall is the most ideal time for this process. The bermudagrass is starting to move into dormancy and the temperatures are still warm enough for the ryegrass to germinate and establish. If the bermuda keeps growing and temperatures are too high, it causes problems for the new ryegrass. If temperatures are too cool, both germination and establishment will be too slow. With two golf courses, we must pick dates to overseed that fit the different grasses. The end of September is when the weather is typically the most ideal, but with two courses we must start in the middle of September and have it all done by mid October. By overlapping the closures, it allows us to do both courses closer together and in the best weather window possible, and have them both open by November.

COURSE MAINTENANCE UPDATE

Wine The Kickoff Scramble

The team has put together an expansive calendar of events that should help you all enjoy time at both Dove Mountain & The Gallery throughout the busy season

Wild Burro closed from October 11th November 2nd (Tortolita will be cart path only) We will be over seeding our fairways at a higher seed rate than the past few years as well as returning the fairways and short mown areas to their original width This should make the golf course more visible from the tee boxes, reward good drives by staying in the fairway, and allow Members the option of putting or chipping off shorter grass in the greenside approach areas Overall, Nathan wants to improve the golf course conditions from last season Below is a reminder of the over seeding schedule: We will also be closing different areas of the practice facility as well as the entire driving range throughout the September October time frame Please check your weekly email updates on the process and potential changes to the above schedule

Our staff is excited to be improving upon your overall Member experience this Fall The Members' Grill will have expanded hours of operation, a new dinner menu, and more fun events for Members to partake in Our team is planning some daily operation changes to privatize your experience at the Club and improve the Members Only areas I wanted to thank you all for your patience as we embark on the over seeding process at the Club I know that this time of year can be frustrating as we close certain areas of the Club, but in the end we are confident the finished product on November 1st will be worth the wait We are very excited for Nathan Gloyd, our Superintendent, to complete his first over seed at the property with a brand new team behind him

The entire team is looking forward to the fall season and welcoming back more of the Membership! Thank you all for being great Members of the Club

Sincerely, Matt Nuechterlein General Manager The Golf Club at Dove Mountain Good Afternoon Members, September is a fun time of year as the temperatures begin to cool, football & fall begin, and we start over seeding the golf course with our winter ryegrass We are anxiously preparing for the upcoming season at the Club which promises to be a great one for our Members

Saguaro closed from August 29th September 20th

Tortolita closed from September 21st October 10th (Saguaro will be cart path only)

Jake Hermes Another great Member Staff tournament!

I first want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart As many of you have probably heard, Jackie and I were forced to postpone our wedding due to an unfortunate accident with our family dog Jackie is back home and recovering, although she will likely still have 2 3 more surgeries over the coming months. Our wedding, which was supposed to be 8/27/22 has now been rescheduled for 7/22/23. This past few weeks has really shown me how our Membership is truly a special group of people. The outpouring of love and support for us during this tough time is overwhelming and I want to thank you very much. In that same vein, we have some changes to our staff to better serve our Members as we head into the season which is right around the corner! Below I have highlighted some of those changes and additions to our staff and their roles We also look forward to expanding our services to include Club drop off and check in over by our locker rooms and having that area be the primary entry and exit for our Membership Please keep and eye out for upcoming emails that will shed some light on that process Keenan Holt will be returning to the Golf Shop this season a few days a week to help run and facilitate our Member and hotel groups Keenan will continue to have 2 3 open lesson days a week and will also have time during his Golf Shop shifts to sneak away from time to time to assist any Members with their games.

GOLF CORNER

Thank you, Jake Hermes Director of Golf

GOLF AT THE GOLF CLUB AT DOVE MOUNTAIN

Collin Murphy will be working primarily in the Golf Shop for the season as he works towards completing his PAT (Playing Ability Test) and joining the PGA Program to further his career in the golf industry Colin will be helping out with Member events as well as hotel groups Cody Decicco will also be moving into the Golf Shop a day or two a week to further his knowledge of the industry and the property as a whole Cody will continue to work outside with our Members, but we are excited to see him grow with his new responsibilities We will also be bringing Dylan and Alex back to our OS team and have recently added James and Cameron to the team We will have a very large team of OS and Golf Shop employees this season to make it the best experience possible for our Members and guests. See you all around the Clubs!

Anthony Markland will be a staple in the Golf Shop moving forward as he has accepted a larger role within our team and will have his hands in basically every Member event this season. Anthony is a great addition to our team and we look forward to his expanded role.

It's everyone's favorite night of the month!

A few weeks ago, Kathy and I attended the SGRA Merchandise Show in Mesa to purchase our Winter/Spring 2023 shop items. We met with a lot of great vendors and will be stocking our shops with tried and true favorites and some new lines such as Pins & Aces accessories, Travis Mathew (Dove & Sports), Tail Tennis (Sports) and more There were SO many great vendors to choose from, and since I can’t possibly bring them all to our shops, I look forward to holding a lot of Trunk Shows to showcase some new vendors Thank you to those of you who have been shopping, special ordering and supporting our Clubs this year! As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, feedback or special orders!
