We have begun needle aerifying the incredibly dry areas in the fairways This will enable us to get water where we need it and disrupt playability the least Once we have water at the roots, we can reduce the total gallons we apply nightly and in turn provide more firm and fast conditions. As stated in previous updates, we just want to limit the turf loss at all costs which is a challenge given the soils and the aged irrigation system It should be noted as well that we have been exceedingly dry with little to no measurable rain for several months, which adds to the challenge Apparently, I brought the Arizona dry weather with me.

We continue working on bunkers and should have them wrapped up this week

We have hired a landscaper His name in Antonio Silva and he is doing a great job elevating the level of detail in all areas. If you see him out there working, please say hi and welcome him to the team.

The routine vertical mowing and sand topdressing of greens went incredibly well on Tuesday Those greens should be fully healed and playing great by the weekend

We have begun identifying irrigation issues with small colored pin flags. If you see them out there, please leave them so we can get these issues resolved as quickly as possible

GOLF-PLAYERDEVELOPMENT

DIRECTOR OF PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

Dear Members,

Time to sign up for Fall Operation 36 classes. This program has been successful in giving players the opportunity to ‘learn to play’ the game of golf in a group setting versus just learning how to swing a golf club.

Golf skills are learned from the inside-out (putting, chipping, pitching, full-swing etc…) Classes are offered for Ladies, Adult and Juniors and are open to members and their guests

See flyer for full details and schedules. Use QR code on flyer or link to be directed to the OP36 registration page.

Hope you are all enjoying the summer season and getting out to play! Thanks for your support!

GOLF-GHOSTCREEK

PRO SHOP - GHOST CREEK GOLF RULES & TIPS

The Ghost Creek Golf Course has never been better! Conditions are flawless, the weather is beautiful, and it is an absolute must play right now! We have reinstated the Marshal/Starter program on the weekends here at Ghost to try and help the pace of play and get all the tee times out in a timely and organized manner. Also, the Ghost Creek practice range is now o grass Friday-Sunday!

Ever wondered why you hit it really well on th range, but it doesn't translate to the course? Sounds like all you need is an on course playing lesson to get a second perspective on what you need to do to stripe golf shots just like you do on the range! Email Sebastain your Ghost Creek Head Golf Professional!

sstewart@pumpkinridge.com

PRO TIP: Alright, we are going to go through a ball position crash course for you to understand where the ball should be on every golf club.

All your wedges are going to go under your trail eye (That's right eye for righty, left eye for lefty)

I want all your mid irons, 9-7 to go directly under your nose (Obviously with the right distance between you and the ball)

Long irons, hybrids, and woods so 6-3 iron & all hybrids/woods will go under the lead eye

Last but not least your Driver will go under the lead ear

Side note: Remember "Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast"
