October is here and again we had more Astros baseball It has been a fun several years watching that team go to the postseason and perform Unfortunately, the run was cut a little short this year Fun fact, did you know A J Hinch was a Member at Carlton Woods Don’t hold me to it, but I believe he still is
I was thrilled to share in my weekly Post Time update that our very own, Jesse Campbell, has been promoted within the Escalante Golf portfolio In November, Jesse will embark on a dream of his to be a Director of Golf when he takes the reigns at French Creek Located just outside of Philadelphia, French Creek is new to the Escalante family of Clubs and will truly benefit from Jesse’s knowledge, passion and energy
There is no doubt we will miss Jesse here at BlackHorse His impact has been felt by most of our Members and any others that enjoy playing the game here For me, I am beyond excited for this guy I know how much hard work he puts into doing the best he can for everyone each and every day Jesse would never brag on himself with how much he cares and wants to make this place great, but he has, and we are better for it
I will send out more information so be on the lookout for details on a proper send off for our undefeated Pro!

What a great September, specifically the Club Championship. We get more participation in that event than most clubs I have been at. I cannot remember the last time we had a playoff, and to have two of them this year was something special. It is unfortunate there can only be one winner in those instances, but that winner has to go and earn it Congrats to Evan, Bob, Nhi, Mitchell and Drew on their accomplishments The parking lot signs are here and in place!

I’m writing with mixed emotions to let you know I have accepted the Director of Golf position at French Creek Golf Club in Elverson, Pennsylvania. This has been one of the hardest decisions of my life. From the moment I arrived, you welcomed me with open arms, and for that, I will forever be grateful The respect, kindness, and support you've shown me have made my time here truly unforgettable.
BlackHorse has been more than just a workplace it's been my home. I’ve built lifelong friendships and created memories that will always stay with me This Membership is unlike any other, and I truly believe it’s the best in the world I can’t thank you enough for making my time here so special I’ll miss you all deeply
A special thank you to Craig Your belief in me, your guidance, and your trust have shaped my career in ways I can never fully express I’ll always cherish the laughter and memories we ’ ve shared BlackHorse is in the best hands with you at the helm

Hopefully you have noticed improvement in the golf course over the last three months It has certainly been a year for this place, but Mother Nature has been easier to work with Greens are smoothing out and speeding up As we shared after the Club Championship, there was no plan to speed them up for the weekend and then go backward. Gradual improvement in speed and smoothness has been and continues to be the plan
This past week, we overseeded the driving range tee with rye grass This process included cutting down the current Bermuda, applying the seed, top dressing with sand and then watering in. We will keep this watered in often in order to help it germinate This will help provide a better final result Over the next few weeks, we will need to stay on the mats for all range sessions The seed and eventual leaf blade need time to establish with no traffic
For those of you that work with teams, assemble teams and/or lead teams, you know how important it is to have the right people, in the right places and doing the right things I have focused a lot of time and attention to making that happen since I arrived at BlackHorse We do not always get to enjoy the fruit of those efforts immediately, but I know as we continue making BlackHorse better, this is one of the most crucial steps. I am rebuilding this team one day at a time to help reach a point where we can provide the best and most consistent product every single day
Looking ahead, we have already applied our first round of pre-emerge on the golf course and the greens This is important to set us up for reduced Poa pressure in the early months of next year. More applications will be applied next month
