2024 was a year to remember for your RC Agronomy Team! For all the challenges faced, the accomplishments were so much greater! From welcoming new team members throughout the year, to having successful tournaments and playing conditions. It was truly a great year, and we could not be more appreciative of our River Club membership to making all of these things possible!
We welcome 2025 with even more confidence and excitement! Your RC Agronomy Team is motivated and confident that this will be the best year yet for The River Club! To kick off the year in January, we will continue our focus on cleaning out our native areas and tree lines, this will be a heavy focus on clearing out any underbrush that is currently unsightly For example, as you are making your way around the golf course, check out our work between the green and white tees on #2, and left of the tees on #8 With our continued focus on these areas this will help create better vistas throughout the golf course! Also, for January we will start “Operation Turf Enhancement’ This project will include taking care of any bare spots around the golf course, root pruning, and covering areas in fresh sod This will be an elongated process, but we are very excited to get started!
Some notes as we are in the middle of winter playing season. Please be mindful as we make our way through the golf course of avoiding any low areas with golf carts. With the turf being dormant, moisture will be holding on a little longer than normal. Expect more cart rules as we go through this winter season. And lastly, you will continue seeing our team members on sprayers, completing all pre emerge and post emerge applications for greater weed control and fighting any weed breakthrough so far.
Again, we express our excitement and gratitude going into the 2025 season. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or compliments via email at dharris@theriverclub-ga com
Have a great round!

2024 & Ahead to 2025
As the cooler weather and shorter days settle in, we are reminded that the golf season has reached its Winter break, and the new year is just around the corner. We hope the golf year has been both enjoyable and eventful for all those who teed up to play
Throughout 2024, many players achieved great success whether by winning an event, improving their game, making new friends, traveling the world, or playing at top bucket-list courses What truly matters is that everyone had a good time on the course. Here's a look at some of the Champions from 2024:

Looking ahead to 2025, a new golf year brings fresh opportunities for all. Be sure to keep an eye out for our annual Operations Packet, which will be available online and via email by the end of January The packet will include important Member Golf Information and the full schedule for 2025. We encourage everyone to take the next couple of months to plan their golf year at the club, ensuring another season of fun and achievement
What are your fitness goals for 2025? Are you going to stick with them this year?
Unfortunately, a lot of people fail within the first 30 days of their new year's resolution In fact, studies show that only about 9% of people who make new year resolutions actually see them through to the following year, 23% quit by the end of the first week and 43% quit by the end of January
Want to give yourself a better chance of being successful? Here are some things you can do to achieve your long term fitness goals and make them part of your daily or weekly routines
Expect obstacles but be prepared and have plans and the right mindset to overcome them Whether it's traveling or getting sick or injured there are always circumstances that appear and set us back Having a plan like using the hotel gym when you're traveling can keep you on track without feeling like you let yourself down Maintain a positive mindset and know that whatever it is, its short-term, and won't derail your dedication and determination to get back on the path to your goals
Set your goals because you want to experience a positive change and improve your overall lifestyle not because it is a tradition or a "challenge " In general, you will be more motivated and more likely to hold yourself accountable when you're trying to achieve your own goals not someone else's that sound good but are not realistic
Smaller, short-term goals that can be achieved and used as motivation and springboard you into accomplishing your longterm goals Feeling success along the way and checking off short term goals can really improve your dedication to continue working hard and not quit
Be accountable! People who write their goals down and set up ways to hold themselves accountable are twice as likely to be successful as those who don't There are other ways to hold yourself accountable: Connect with a reliable friend who is motivated and can be there for you consistently, join an accountability group, use technology to track and measure your progress, or hire a coach/trainer
Whatever your health and fitness goals are, you can do it!
Thank you to all the amazing members who brighten our day and share their valuable time with us at the Sports Center here at the River Club We are grateful and honored to provide the very best experience we can for you
