The North course continues to improve after overseed with the height of cut being lowered for the fairways and greens. In addition, carts will be allowed back on the fairways beginning Saturday, November 5th. Please be careful while driving, avoid wet spots and drive as much as possible in the fairway. I am excited to share that South will be opening on Monday, November 14th. Cart path only restrictions will be in place once South opens. The Gallery Grille will be rolling out new menus this week. Our new dinner menu will start Wednesday and our new lunch menu will begin Thursday. Please stop by and try Chef Wooter’s new and delicious items, which you can find here. Please remember you can make reservation for The Grille through OpenTable in your Member’s Portal under Dining > The Gallery Grille. We have some exciting holiday events coming up. Please see the flyers in the newsletter and make plans to come to the Club for Thanksgiving on November 24th and our Holiday Brunch with Santa on December 4th. Dear Gallery Members, Happy November! It has been great seeing everyone out on the North Course the past two weeks playing some golf and getting the season started! As we head into season, I thought this would be a good time to update our course Penalty Areas and Drop Zone Markings. I have attached two documents to this letter, one reviews the North Course Penalty Areas and the other reviews the South Course Penalty Areas. A couple changes that you will see, starting with Hole #8 on the North Course. We have removed the Red penalty area to the right of the fairway.

This was originally established due to the water feature that used to be there and since it is no longer there, we have elected to remove it. The second change you will see is we have added a Red penalty area to the right of the 16th fairway on the North Course. The penalty area now begins where the fairway begins and extends down the right side to the cart path. In addition, we have re-established a Red penalty area behind the 16th green. The North Course will be marked in the coming days and we will mark the South Course prior to its opening. We kindly ask all of our Golf Members to review the attachments so everyone can become familiar with our Course Markings. On behalf of the Golf Team, we look forward to a fantastic 2022/2023 season! GOLF AT THE GOLF CLUB AT DOVE MOUNTAIN DOVE MOUNTAIN UPDATE Matt Nuechterlein
What a great time of year to be in Arizona and especially to be at Dove Mountain! The weather is cooling down, which means our Membership events schedule is heating up. We are excited to be welcoming many of you back to the area and look forward to seeing your smiling faces enjoying the Club again this season! The over-seeding is completed at the Club and we thank you all for your patience as we certainly went through some challenges this year. Please join me in thanking our golf course maintenance staff when you see them, as they pour blood, sweat, and tears into the golf course every September-October for over-seeding. The Tortolita nine looks as good as I can ever remember it this soon after over-seeding and our Saguaro nine looks better every day. The rye grass will mature nicely as we progress into November. The Wild Burro nine will be slower to come in with the cooler temperatures, however we are excited about its promise for the season.
We have removed the black flags on the golf course and gone to a newer white flag look, which I know will make you all happy! We have received some of our new range furniture, bag stands, and ball carriers for the driving range. Also, new range balls for the practice facility have arrived. We look forward to displaying all of the new items for you to enjoy this November. Remember, Members can always use “The Members Only” side of the driving range. It looks fantastic this year after over-seeding - a great place for you all to enjoy working on the golf game. The Members' Grill is officially open for lunch and dinner every Wednesday-Sunday. The F&B team has created some new items on the menu including a Fish-fry Friday Special, BBQ Pulled Pork Saturday Special, and a new “Social” Hour Menu highlighting some appetizers and cocktails. Our brand new furniture for the grill should be arriving sometime in late November, or early December. Please remember, you can call 520-572-3530 to make a reservation for dinner- reference that you want to dine in our Members Grill. The Golf Calendar will be busy with activities this month including:

GOLF AT THE GOLF CLUB AT DOVE MOUNTAIN GOLF CORNER Jake Hermes
We are officially done with our 2022 overseeding schedule and threw the last bit of seed on Wild Burro the second to last week of October. We now play the waiting game as we anticipate all 3 nines to be open at Dove Mountain by the second week of November (weather and growth permitting). With all 27-holes opening this month I want to take the time to touch on each of our nines and their condition as well as remind everyone of some upcoming events and challenges with a busy month ahead.
During the first two weeks of November, we have a couple of hotel groups that will be occupying much of our tee sheet. This does not mean that we do not have Member Only times available, it simply means that we have blocked the tee sheet for those Member Only spots and you will need to call the Golf Shop to book into those times. It is also a great time to head next door to The Gallery and play some great golf on either the North or South courses.
Saguaro was our first nine that we overseeded and is now off Cart Path Only for the remainder of the season. As many have probably heard, we received a large rain storm just a few days after laying seed on this nine and a large percentage of it was lost. We were forced to reseed much of the course and as a result it is taking a little more time to fully come in. We have allowed this nine to grow more between mows than in years past to help recover from the unforeseen weather related issues. We expect this nine to be fantastic in the next few weeks and we look forward to lowering our mow heights soon.
Lastly, remember that our Ladies Member/Member (Nov.4th) Men’s Member/Member (Nov. 12th) and Heaven and Hell (Nov. 19th) are right around the corner.
Tortolita will remain Cart Path Only for the first week of November as it continues to fully recover from the overseed process. I have nothing but great things to say about Tortolita as the coverage and health of the turf is perhaps the best I have seen in my ten years here at Dove following overseed. Wild Burro was our last nine to be overseeded and we hope to open it during the second week of November. Please keep in mind that once it opens it will be Cart Path Only for at least 2 weeks. We expect all 27 holes to be open for cart traffic by Thanksgiving weekend. If you are booking tee times and would like to avoid any cart path restrictions, the best bet is to call the Golf Shop and speak to someone directly to assist with your tee time booking.

FOOD & BEVERAGE RECIPE OF THE MONTH SIMPLE PUMPKIN PIE John Wooters
3/4 cup granulated sugar Steps Mix sugar cinnamon salt ginger and 1 teaspoon ground cloves in small bowl. Beat eggs in cinnamon large bowl. Stir in pumpkin and 1/2 teaspoon salt sugar-spice mixture. Gradually stir 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger in evaporated milk. 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves Pour into pie shell. 2 large eggs Bake in preheated 425° F oven for 1 can (15 ounces) 100% 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to Pure Pumpkin 350° F; bake for 40 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes 1 can (12 fluid ounces) out clean. Cool on wire rack for 2 Evaporated Milk) hours. Serve immediately or 1 unbaked 9-inch (4-cup refrigerate. volume) deep-dish pie shell
