A

programme director can only achieve goals with a supportive and productive team. The team requires a challenging and rewarding working environment, and the necessary skills to best use the tools at their disposal. If these ingredients are put together effectively, a team can achieve greatness in any endeavour. In my five years of managing the MSc in Wine Business programme with the School of Wine and Spirits Business, I have not previously had the opportunity to compile and promote my team in this manner. The students of the MSc Wine Business are being prepared for their professional career in the wine sector. In a matter of months, they will be released into the work environment with the knowledge, skills and global network of contacts required to help them in their quest to help the wine sector recover from a generation-long crisis.

Dr. Damien Wilson Head of the MSc in Wine Business Associate Professor School of Wine and Spirits Business

This class of 2016 exudes all of the qualities that we need to help redevelop the wine sector. Every one of the students in this booklet has the necessary skills to apply the controls necessary in finance and regulatory management. Further, they have all contributed to professional wine events on communications, distribution and merchandising. Being a multi-national group, and having already tested their skills in research, sales and negotiation, they are also sensitive to the cultural mores that pervade the world’s growing wine markets. I am confident that every one of these students would be capable of contributing positively to any business in the wine sector that is lucky enough to have them as an employee. The wine sector needs more professionals who have a grasp on the changing nature of wine business in the modern world. Every one of these students prides themselves on their wine knowledge. As a wine business, you would also be confident in their capacity to contribute to the bottom line. I encourage anyone looking at this booklet to get in touch with these students while you still can. Once their studies are finished, it will already be too late.
