TENNIS CAMP
6-15 year olds
Where tennis is fun and improvement is guaranteed!
Skill Levels The Beginner Player: Learn the Basics We introduce campers to the fundamentals of the game: proper grip, racquet preparation, forehand, backhand, volley, serve, return of serve, overhead, footwork, and basic scoring. Beginner players feel comfortable and confident on the court while experiencing steady improvement.
The Intermediate Player: Refine Strokes The intermediate level helps campers further develop and refine their basic strokes. Intermediate players focus on consistency, footwork, and depth with an emphasis on body position, court awareness, and court angles. Campers further develop first and second serves, approach shots, and net game through instruction and match play.
The Advanced Player: Fine Tune Your Game Greater emphasis is placed on situation awareness, stamina, foot speed, competitive play, and the development of individual styles of play. Campers fine tune passing shots, approach shots, serve and volley, touch shots, ball control and placement, and singles and doubles match play strategy. Campers learn the key points of tournament play, how to make important on-court decisions, and how to compete against players of various styles. Advanced players can expect a higher level of training and coaching intensity.

Activities
Each camp day begins with a series of warm-ups including stretches and cardiovascular exercises, before we move into the on-court training program. Through individual and group instruction, our teaching staff pinpoints areas of improvement, and helps campers enhance stroke production, footwork, consistency, and shot placement. Match play includes singles and doubles, and is designed to help campers apply the stroke techniques that they have learned to match situations. A videotaped analysis of technique allows coaches and campers to evaluate strokes and assess development. Other fun activities include target tennis contests, the ESF Grand Slam Tournament Series, weekly award ceremonies, and much more!
