Bodpave™ 40 with Bodgrid™geocomposite layer Terram
The new and improved Bodpave™ 40 interlocking porous paving system designed for grassed or gravel areas where there is regular pedestrian or vehicle use. Bodpave™ 40 enables landscaping and civil engineering professionals to specify 100% recycled plastics to create low-impact solutions that contribute to the circular economy. Bodpave™ 40’s innovative design incorporates four pre-clipped pavers with 250% stronger interlocking connections, reducing installation time by 25%.
• Simple and fast installation
Installers easily connect adjacent units with the snap-fit clips. Installation is faster, typically reducing labour costs by about £2,000 for a 6,000m2 project. The system does not require an installation permit.
• Stronger connections with efficient load transfer for a longer service life
The precise connectivity and rigid cell structure provide compressive strength up to 250 tonnes per square metre. With efficient transfer of loads between pavers, the new Bodpave™ 40 does not lift easily and therefore delivers a longer service life, and significantly reduces maintenance on site.
• Manufacture and composition
Bodpave™ 40 pavers are manufactured in the UK by Terram from recycled plastic pellets, supplied by sister company Berry Plasgran. They can be recycled afterwards to support the transition to a circular economy.
• Sustainability
On a 6,000m2 project, Bodpave™ 40 can deliver a 50% reduction in the CO2 footprint compared to traditional construction methods, as it is lighter to transport and uses fewer natural resources.
• Typical applications
Typical applications include: - parking areas and overflow car parks. - pedestrian and cycle paths. - caravan parks. - golf walkways. - emergency access routes. As the technology is porous, it also works effectively as part of a sustainable urban drainage (SuDs) system. Natural surface drainage has been proven to have a significant effect in reducing surface run-off and surges in drainage systems.
Bodgrid™
Bodgrid™ is an innovative geocomposite layer that can be used alongside Bodpave™ 40 to complete the system. The Bodgrid™ geocomposite layer provides separation, filtration and reinforcement functions in one layer. It replaces the need for separate geotextile and geogrid layers, reducing installation time by 50%. Bodpave™ 40 is a 100% recycled plastic interlocking porous paving system

GrassProtecta™ reinforcement mesh
GrassProtecta™ is a heavy-duty polyethylene mesh that reinforces grassed root networks, preventing smear and wear. It is suitable for permanent grassed overflow car parks and pedestrian areas on firm, well-drained soil.
Composition and manufacture
GrassProtecta™ is manufactured in the UK by Terram from up to 100% recycled plastic and is fully recyclable, helping reduce the CO2 footprint of projects and supporting the transition to a circular economy.
Technical data
GrassProtecta’s oscillated mesh structure provides a high level of traction and up to 97% higher slip resistance than other standard grass meshes on the market. It is available in three thicknesses: - Heavy: 14.5mm - Medium: 13mm - Lite: 10mm GrassProtecta will reinforce up to 8 tonnes/static axle load on firm ground, making it suitable for applications ranging from overflow car parks and light-aircraft taxiways to caravan sites, equestrian surfaces and verge stabilisation.
Installation and maintenance
GrassProtecta™ is simple to install. No excavation is required and it easily accommodates shallow slopes. The swardgrows through the mesh apertures and knits with the filaments to create a strong, discreetly reinforced surface capable of withstanding vehicle loads, limiting damage, and helping to reduce compaction by reducing direct contact with the soil surface. It can also be installed onto newly landscaped areas and seeded as required. Newly installed areas should be left untrafficked until the sward and the mesh have knitted –normally after a few weeks during the growing season, or a few months out of season.

Tree root protection system
CORE TRP is a three-dimensional cellular web system that provides protection to the roots of mature trees from pedestrian and vehicular traffic. It comprises a geocellular confinement panel that provides: three-dimensional load distribution; porous and highly puncture-resistant TRP membranes; and a TRP geogrid that provides additional 2-dimensional support. The system is installed within the RPA on top of the existing soil to create a shallow, high loadbearing, above-ground sub-base. It helps distribute the weight of traffic evenly across the surface delivering a significant reduction in the loads transferred from above. This prevents harmful subsoil compaction around the roots.
Accreditation
The CORE TRP system is CE certified and fully compliant with BS 5837:2012 section 7.4.2 Note 1 and has been specifically designed to achieve the No Dig construction method set out in AGN12.
