EGM 2022 Programme Booklet by Erasmus Student Network AISBL

Dear friends, In 1989, a small group of students who were part of the first generation of Erasmus mobilities met in Ghent to share their experiences and discuss how the newly created Erasmus programme could be improved. They all agreed on one key principle: the best way to continuously improve this promising new exchange programme was to ensure that the voice of students was always heard, and to make them full protagonists of the Erasmus experience. They also decided that besides the feedback and proposals for those managing the programme at the different levels, students were in a unique position to help each other and create a community of diverse yet like minded young people from all walks of life. That was the beginning of the idea of the Erasmus Generation, and indeed, also the beginning of the Erasmus Student Network. Thirty three years down the line, our motto of students helping students continues to capture the work of 15.000 volunteers across 41 countries, and our mission of the enrichment of society through international students inspires our initiatives at the local, national and international level. The Erasmus Generation Meeting has begun with the idea of being the most important student-led event related to learning mobility and student exchange all over the world. It is a place to come together as a Network, to learn from others and to come up with new ideas to do what we love. It is also a space to experience the diversity of the Erasmus Generation: a generation of shared values, a firm belief in the capacity of education and intercultural dialogue

to bring people together. It is also a space to have fun while meeting friends from all over the world, discovering everything that bonds us together and experiencing what being part of the same community really means. The first edition of our flagship initiative couldn't come at a more significant time: As we celebrate 35 years of Erasmus and the European Year of Youth, we want this event to be a key milestone in achieving a more empowered European youth through learning mobility. Your active participation and willingness to learn from and with others is the best way to achieve this impact. The programme shows the creativity, resolve and commitment of the Erasmus Generation to improve learning mobility programmes around the world and to foster youth engagement and skills development in the process. A wide range of session formats covering diverse topics closely interlinked with the mobility experience and the role of student and youth organisations will allow you to get new ideas that can help you to make a difference in your local section and local community. We will have more than 800 participants, two Fairs, and more than 60 sessions happening during EGM - we understand that this may get too much at one point for some people. In the quiet room, there is no talking, no phones, no laptops - in other words, no distractions.

Thursday Thursday is Day 0 of EGM during which the registrations, Flag Parade, and Opening Ceremony will take place.

Registrations Casa De Vilar, 12:00 - 15:00 During the registrations, the OC will take note of your arrival to the conference, check your COVID-19 certificate in case you haven’t uploaded it prior to the arrival, and you will be given your badge, the official bracelet of the event and welcome bag. You can come to Casa De Vilar anytime between 12:00 and 15:00 to register yourself. If you will arrive in Porto after 15:00 or if you won’t arrive on Friday at all, don’t worry, the OC will be doing late registrations during Friday and Saturday morning in the same place.

Meet-up Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, 15:00 - 16:00 At 15:00, we will slowly begin gathering for the Flag Parade. Everyone is expected to come to Jardins do Palácio de Cristal dressed in their country colours. During this time, you can add the final touches to your outfits, take pictures or meet the other volunteers for the network. By 16:00, everyone should already be standing in the parade line together with their delegation, ready to move.

Flag Parade Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, 16:00 - 17:30 Flag Parade is a symbolic moment during which we will walk together down the streets of Porto, accompanied by the local community members, each delegation dressed in their country colours that will demonstrate the unity and diversity of Europe. We will start the parade at 16:00 sharp and at 17:30 we will end in Casa de Vilar.

Buffer Casa De Vilar, 17:30 - 18:00 Time for everyone to enter the venue, find their seat in the Auditorium and get comfortable before the upcoming Opening Ceremony.

Opening Ceremony Casa De Vilar, Auditorium, 18:00 - 20:00 The Opening Ceremony is a prelude into the conference. The ceremony will be moderated by João Pinto (President of Erasmus Student Network, 2017-2019) and it will mainly consist of welcome speeches made by European and Portuguese officials. The ceremony will be additionally enriched by dialogues with the members of the Erasmus Generation which will commemorate the 35 Years of the Erasmus Programme and performances which will immerse you into Portuguese culture.

Dinner Casa De Vilar, 20:00 - 22:00 Dinner will be served in the venue directly after the ceremony.

Friday Friday is Day 1 of EGM during which late registrations, Career Fair and parallel sessions will happen.

Registrations Casa De Vilar, 09:00 - 10:00 Everyone who hasn’t registered yet can come to the venue after 09:00 and before the official beginning of the day to do so.

Opening Casa De Vilar, Auditorium, 10:00 - 10:30 You should arrive at the venue by 9:45 the latest so that everyone is settled in the Auditorium and we can start at 10:00 sharp. During the opening, we will welcome the participants, give introduction into the agenda as well as go over the activities of the day.

Competence and career development of the Erasmus Generation: keynote speech Casa De Vilar, Auditorium, 10:30 - 10:45 Adriana Perez, Researcher and ESN alumnus, will reflect on the value of international experiences as a breakthrough in the development of relevant competences for the labour market and as a way of thriving in today’s society, as well as challenges students encounter when entering the labour market and areas that require improvement.

A number of speakers will share their development stories and establish a connection between mobility, civic engagement and employability based on their personal experiences, as well as discuss how we can make a difference and prepare young people for their future by utilising international opportunities. The discussion will be moderated by Pedro Santos (Vice-President of ESN Portugal, 2017-2019).

Career Fair Casa De Vilar, Corridor, 12:00 - 18:00 The Career Fair is your opportunity to meet the representatives of various companies, with a space of the representation of the commission, institutions and organisations as well as discuss topics like the impact of student mobility, internationalisation of higher education on the labour market, recognition of non-formal and informal learning with them. During the Fair you will also have an opportunity to attend activities like interview simulations, pitch yourself activities, one-on-one interviews with potential employers, and similar. If you are interested in working in Portugal, then this is an ideal opportunity for you. During the Fair, we will be joined by the young people from the local community.

Its impact can already be felt all around the globe and its effects will continue to worsen over the next decades if the climate crisis is not addressed correctly. And some might not be convinced by their efficacy. It is unfortunately still the case that going on study exchange is often associated with slower study progress due to no full accreditation of courses or the inexistence of adequate subjects. This is shocking considering that the Lisbon Recognition Convention regulating course and period accreditations has been signed by 53 countries. In this talk I 12

Collaboration between local sections, both at the national level and international level, through intersection events, knowledge sharing, and participating in each other's events has shown to have great benefits. Collaborating sections are more sustainable during transitions and organise more events than isolated ones. How can the contact between sections be established in an efficient and durable way, and how can barriers such as distance, different realities, budgets and size of sections be overcome to create long lasting relationships and great events? Students are concerned about climate change but they cannot always travel sustainably. The new Erasmus+ Programme envisages a top-up for the green travels but it is not sufficient to cover the costs and therefore it does not incentivise the use of more sustainable means of transportation. The Green Erasmus project consortium is drafting a petition to ask European Institutions to amend the financial mechanisms used to encourage green travel. If you want to get involved, help come up with alternative solutions to the green top up and contribute to the first draft of the petition come along to the session.

The session aims at addressing gender equality and women in leadership by showcasing positive examples and best practices from the European Union, NATO and the diplomatic corps, with testimonials. Case Study: Secretariat of ESN Spain by Jesús Martínez-Cardeñoso (ESN Spain) In June 2020 ESN Spain started its professionalisation, hiring the first-ever employee of the organisation. Today, after almost two years, ESN Spain has two employees and two European Solidarity Corps and participates in three Erasmus+ projects, among many other projects and grants. The 14th edition of the ESNsurvey was launched in 2021 and collected more than 11,000 answers. More than half of respondents participated in mobilities that took place during the COVID pandemic. The survey explores how students evaluate their experiences in relation to the key principles to which Higher Education Institutions commit as holders of an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education. During the talk, the findings of the survey will be presented together with their implications for practitioners and policymakers to reflect on what works, and what should be improved. During this session, we will present the main findings from our International Student Report from 2021 and reflect on the challenges international higher education students in Ireland have experienced regarding immigration, online learning, well-being and, more specifically, racism while taking into consideration the part that the pandemic played in these challenges. During our events, we always talk about good practices exchange, a process that we should stop only talking about, but also take action, since we already have a place for it.

Have Your Say in the EU Youth Dialogue Process by Iva Ljubičić (Liaison Office) The EU Youth Dialogue (EUYD) is the European participatory process which, through cycles of 18 months over a priority topic, supports the implementation of the EU Youth Strategy and ensures the involvement of young people in the decision-making process in the field of youth in Europe through a dialogue between young people and decision-makers. Therefore, it is a key process, on the European level, that enables us to make different policies youth-friendly. The thematic framework of the 9th cycle of the EU Youth Dialogue is Youth Goal #10 Sustainable Green Europe and Youth Goal #3 Inclusive Societies under the title “Engaging together for a sustainable and inclusive Europe”. ESN has been participating in the EUYD for a few cycles now as a part of the INGYOs under European Youth Forum's coordination. In order to make sure we can successfully advocate for our causes and goals, it is of high importance that participants understand the process, its vitality and the connection it has with their volunteering experiences. Besides the process itself, it is essential to hear the input EGM participants have on the youth goals 3 and 10 which are currently discussed. That would make representing ESN at EUYD smoother and would lead to better outcomes for our Network, volunteers and mobility in general. Hence, the aim of this poster session is to familiarise participants with the EU Youth Dialogue, specifically the current 9th cycle and hear their opinions on the topic 'Engaging together for sustainable and inclusive Europe.

Il Tuo Erasmus con ESN (Your Erasmus With ESN) – Promoting Mobility and European Values At Once by Giovanni Telesca (ESN Italy) Il Tuo Erasmus con ESN (Your Erasmus With ESN) is a contest created by ESN Italy in 2013, making it one of the most successful projects of ESN Italy. Through the years more that 10000 outgoing students have participated to this initiative. The contest has been always organised in cooperation with different institutional stakeholders such as the Eramus+ National Agency, the Italian Youth National Council, the Italian Representation of the European Commission and the Liaison Office in Italy of the European Parliament. In the poster session we will describe this success story from its start to the present times and its success factors, explaining all the different novelties that have been integrated in this project through the years.

The Committee For International Affairs (CIA) - Secret Agents With an ESN International Assignment by Marilù Fortino, Eleonora Catozzi and Gaia Tamasi (ESN Italy) The aim of this session is to explain in depth the work of the Committee for International Affairs of ESN Italy, outlining its duties and responsibilities, and how beneficial it is for the Internationalisation of the Italian network. Twinning Projects by Madalena Wolf (EMSA) I will be sharing best practice examples on how we approach the topic of student mobility in EMSA, presenting our Twinning Projects. Twinning Projects are week-long exchanges between two groups studying in two different medical faculties from around Europe and the participants have the chance of travelling to their twin faculties to experience the culture, medical education, and the overall healthcare environment in those cities and countries while spending time with their peers.

Is it possible to carry out impactful activities? Can we develop SMART projects within ESN? As ESN Italy, we’d like to propose a session that we already organised at national level and is considered to be a best practice, in order to share our experience, and foster knowledge transfer and sharing of inputs and insights on the topic. The idea behind the initiative is to provide an overview on project management, especially related to environmental sustainability and social inclusion. We'd like to simulate project development on the basis of grant writing: participants will be given scenarios (e.g. urban regeneration projects, but also entrepreneurship initiatives such as green start-ups) and will try to apply and design as ESNers. Moreover, we'd like to give insights on the topic by facilitators who also apply those skills at work. Speakers Adam Shardob Adam started his ESN journey in 2015 while studying at Stockholm Business School. He joined ESN International as a digital marketing coordinator, and later as a partnership manager. Shardob is passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation.

Alberto Almazán Alberto started in ESN during his Erasmus program in Aarhus, and it's been almost two years working side by side with excellent people. Now he is trying to expand his vision of ESN, joining in on this international event, meeting all sorts of cultures and opinions.

Albert Stalin Garrido Albert is a Philippine national currently based in Madrid, Spain. An advocate of the international language Esperanto, he is currently Vice President of World Esperanto Youth Organisation (TEJO), in which he supervises relations with national and interest-based Esperanto youth movements, as well as educational and scientific activities within the organisation.

Ali Ay Ali joined ESN Yildiz in 2017. She has held different positions in the section until 2021. On the national level, he volunteered in 2 committees: Strategy and Project Committee (SPC) and NETCOM. Currently, as the President of ESN Turkey, he is working to further develop the NO with his teammates.

Involved in promoting mobility not only at the local level as ESN UAM Poznań Vice President but also at the international level as Policy Department Assistant at ESN International.

Betül Altas Betül is a journalist and a producer at an international news channel. She covers stories from social media and of human interest, with a mix of politics. She's also an ESN volunteer experienced in different levels of the network and most recently as the Project Officer of the Social Impact team.

Bianca Ștefan Bianca is a 24 years old IT enthusiast born in Timișoara, Romania. With a Bachelor’s degree in computer science and a Master’s in bioinformatics from the West University of Timișoara, Bianca had the luck to experience the Erasmus+ twice: Maribor, Slovenia, and Malta. She is the Board member that oversees ESN’s work on topics relevant to the digital transformation of higher education and empowering the network through digital tools.

Božo Tadić Božo is a Law student from Croatia. Despite having many volunteering opportunities in different NGOs over his student days, the one that stuck with him the most is, you might have guessed it, naturally ESN. As a member for three and a half years, he’s been active on all the levels inside ESN, being part of different teams or holding various positions. He is the current Project Leader of ESN Wiki.

Chantal Sistek Chantal has Czech roots, but having grown up in German-speaking Switzerland and having studied in French-speaking Switzerland, multiculturalism has always been important to her. She has been able to live this out through ESN and also to get to know ESNers from all over the network during her mandate as National Representative of ESN Switzerland.

Chiara Ferrari Chiara, in real life a junior project manager, is the ESN Italy Activity and Training Manager. Chiara in a nutshell: in her 3+ year experience, she has tested herself with many training sessions, but each time is a new challenge! Fun fact about her: Ishe found love within ESN and their first trip was to Portugal.

Christie Dear Christie is currently the Comms Manager of ESN UK and has been involved with the network since being one of the founding members of her local section in 2019. Her academic background is in maths and data science, but she is much more interested in pursuing self-growth through new challenges. Usually found in the mountains, she tries to punctuate my life with spontaneous travels, hiking, and sunshine.

Christine Drosne Christine is ESN Nancy’s volunteer for 3 years, training vice-president for ESN France and coordinator of the Social Impact Team. She is a huge fan of non-formal education, for the way it can change our communities. She keeps on experiencing it to engage people about important matters for me such as interculturality, ecological transition, or feminism.

Claudia Nicieza Puente Claudia is the project coordinator and member of ESN Oviedo since September 2021. Claudia didn’t do an Erasmus jet but she has lived in Morocco for five years due to her parents' work. She is interested in European and International relations at the same time as learning languages and travelling.

Cristina Secades Álvarez Cristina has been the Local Representative of ESN Oviedo since 2020. She is 25 years old and she lives in Oviedo, Spain. She studied nursing and she is currently working in the hospital. While studying, she experienced a semester abroad doing practices in a hospital in Heraklion (Greece). Since then, she has been very interested in international mobility programmes and in the values we represent in ESN.

Daniela Mård Daniela joined ESN in 2017 and has since then been working with two of her big passions: social inclusion and training. Daria Ionescu Daria is the type of person that likes learning a little bit about everything, she loves overcoming challenges, and she is passionate about travelling, interculturality, and people. Eleonora Catozzi Eleonora is an Italian, born on New Year's Eve twenty-seven years ago in a city that stands in the middle between Turin and Milan. Elif Öncel Elif followed a bachelor’s in architecture and meanwhile, she found a chance to experience Erasmus twice – student mobility in Slovenia and remote internship for ESN Italy. Right after her first Erasmus experience, she suddenly found herself in ESN. Currently, she is the Communication Manager of ESN Turkey. On the international level, she volunteered as the Graphics Team Coordinator in ComCom.

Emily Bankert Emily is currently working at Generation Climate Europe as a Climate Justice Coordinator where she focuses on the Sustainability Education and COP27 project. She is based in Lund, Sweden, where she is studying the Erasmus Mundus Master in Environmental Science, Policy and Management with a specialisation in energy policy and sufficiency.

Emma Mulhern Emma currently serves as the President of ESN Lappeenranta. While new to ESN, she is not new to the world of exchange, having studied abroad herself four times. She is a passionate advocate for international students (being one herself) and aims to better integrate these students into the local community.

Esmeé van Thuijl Esmeé went on an exchange to Cairo, Egypt as part of her bachelor studies in Middle Eastern studies. She was on exchange in January 2018, following courses like Egyptian Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic, Migration, Sustainable Archaeology and Gender at the Dutch-Flemish Institute in Cairo (NVIC). She is currently President of ESN Utrecht in the Netherlands.

Esther Sieiro Álvarez Esther has been the Local Representative of ESN Vigo since 2022. She is 27 years old and she lives in Vigo, Spain. She studied Translation and Interpreting and she currently works as an administrator in a company. Since she ended her studies she has been interested in international communication and cooperation as well as in education.

Fabian Hinz Fabian gathered his first international experience in a student exchange in second grade. Through two Erasmus Semesters during his computer science studies, he became excited about and motivated to engage in the international European community. He has been active as a local member and board support in my ESN section for the last two and a half years.

Gaia Tamasi Italian twenty two year old born on a sunny Friday in May, Gaia loves people, music, good food, and the sea. She joined ESN in 2019 and it completely changed her life. She is now president of her Section ESN Modena, part of the liaison office of ESN Italy as Skills and Employability Officer, and member of the Italian Pool of Trainers.

Georgi Dimitrov Georgi is a Business Management graduate with 2 Erasmus Exchanges in both Belgium and Slovakia. Currently, he is an active ESN Member and President of ESN Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Gernot Pruschak Gernot works as a junior professor for Applied Data Analytics at the Bern Business School. He received his PhD from RWTH Aachen University in February 2021 for analysing academic conduct and leadership. Giannis Pagoulatos Giannis, an architecture student from Thessaloniki, Greece started his ESN journey during his Erasmus+ for Studies, joining ESN UniBucharest. Giovanni Telesca Giovanni graduated in Group, Organizational and Community Psychology at the University of Chieti-Pescara. He is a PhD student in Social Psychology and in 2021 he was a Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission. He has been President of Erasmus Student Network Italy for two years and coordinator of the ESNsurvey Team in 2020/21.

Gorka Guerrero Gorka works as a Web Developer for the Erasmus Student Network (ESN). He is mainly in charge of the development of Erasmusjobs.org and coordinating/developing the websites of the Erasmus Generation ecosystem, as well as the account system. When he is not working, Gorka is a big fan of LEGO and owns a nice collection (if you don't believe it, ask him for pictures), cooking or hunting Pokemons while going for long walks.

Imane Benrabiaa Imane is a PhD researcher within Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakesh, Morocco. She joined ASAF in 2019 and shortly after became a part of its core group, then a part of its communication task force. Iona Murdoch Iona is the President of ESN UK. With a background in law and educational policy, she engages in exchange programmes and educational topics on a national level, liaising with Governments and organisations to share the UK international student voice. Iona is also Policy Officer of the UK Council for International Student Affairs, working on a UK International Student Charter and helping students work with universities on relevant issues.

Iva Ljubičić Iva is an experienced ESNer and Erasmus+ programme advocate who is currently in the role of a Liaison Officer for EU Affairs and Youth Participation. She enjoys investing her free time in learning more about new Erasmus+, mobility and youth initiatives and advocating for ESN’s causes and goals with the EU institutions. Iva is building her professional experience by working in the secretariat of the European Parliament in Luxembourg.

Jesús Lucero Ezquerro Jesús is an astronautic engineer currently working on a startup dedicated to oil spill detection with satellite and AI technology. Environmental activist, participant of COP26 and member of multiple environmental platforms. Dedicated to the environment and trying to make the world a better and greener place.

Jesús Martínez-Cardeñoso Jesús was born 25 years ago in Oviedo, Spain. He is a civil and mining engineer, specialising in energy management, and a volunteer at ESN since 2018. Starting in ESN Oviedo, he moved to Madrid and collaborated in the creation of ESN Madrid UPM. From 2020 he is the Secretary of ESN Spain.

José Sabogal José has been a member of ESN since September 2015. Since then, he has held different positions, starting (as many of us) as a buddy for international students, then local treasurer and local president of ESN BFI Vienna. In 2019, he was elected President of ESN Austria for two consecutive years. In 2020 he was appointed by the International Board as Liaison Officer for Americas. Being originally from Colombia, he understands the dynamics of and has contributed to our presence in the region.

Juan Rayon Juan is the President of the Erasmus Student Network. He has a bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Oviedo and is currently finishing two Master’s in International Law and European Studies. His main priorities include increasing participation in learning mobility and fostering civic engagement and participation of young people in democratic life through the Erasmus programme.

Juliane Wachsmann Juliane is a member of ESN IPAS Landau, a small section in the Southwest of Germany. Since joining ESN in 2016, she has been Local President, Regional Coordinator and member of the FGCoopCom. Even though she doesn't speak French she joined the committee because she wants to support and strengthen our French-German friendship.

Konstantina Kyriakou Konstantina says the germ of volunteering at ESN appeared for her in 2019 and has never left. Currently, she is an Education Officer of ESN Greece and a member of ICE. Her motto is nothing about us, without us and she hopes through this session our volunteers will understand the meaning under that.

Kostis Giannidis Kostis is the former President of the Erasmus Student Network and he is originally from Greece. He has been involved in ESN for six years and has held several positions on local, national and international levels. Previously, he has worked as a trainee at the European Commission in the field of VET as well as in a local Greek NGO where he was coordinating projects within the framework of the European Solidarity Corps programme.

Madalena Wolf Madalena is a half Portuguese half American sixth year medical student from Lisbon. She joined EMSA because she truly believes that everyone you meet has something for us to learn from. She feels lucky to have lived in France and in Brazil (and will soon spend a month in Germany) since it has allowed her to connect with so many like minded people and learn their cultures and languages.

Manon Richard Since 2016, Manon Richard from Europa Nostra has held several networking, communication and advocacy-related positions at Europa Nostra. As of 2020, she is EU Projects Officer at Europa Nostra's Brussels Office, nurturing relations with civil society and institutional partners and developing the organisation’s Youth activities.

Marcello Scalisi Marcello is the Director of UNIMED – Mediterranean Universities Union – since 2008. He started working at UNIMED in 1998 as project manager and moved gradually to the coordination of UNIMED’s European, International and National funded initiatives and projects. Marilù Fortino Marilù is a southern Italian soul that moved to northern Italy to study International Relations at the University of Milan. At the moment she is on her second mandate as Main Chair of ESN Italy’s Committee for International Affairs and has recently been elected Liaison Officer for Volunteering and Youth. She was the Vice Head of OC of the NETx Milano 2019, a candidate member of ICE.

Marinos Savva Starting as a local volunteer in Amsterdam back in 2017, Marinos was quickly captivated by the breadth of opportunities provided by ESN. Currently, he holds the position of Main Arbitrator of the Arbitration Board of ESN International, aiding in solving disputes within our network. He finds great pleasure in interacting with people, hearing about their unique stories, and getting inspired by their journeys.

Martina Bo Class 1997, Martina is Milanese by birth and a citizen of the world by adoption. She is specialised in Diplomacy, European and International Affairs. Currently, she is working as a consultant in Deloitte Luxembourg for European Union Institutions. She joined ESN Milan Bocconi in 2016, where she was President, Secretary and Communication Manager. Martina has recently started an adventure as Liaison Officer for ESN International within the European Youth Forum.

Mathieu Orphanides Mathieu is a Cypriot national living in Brussels and working for the European Commission. He is working in the DG for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport in the youth unit as Programme Manager for Erasmus+ & European Solidarity Corps. He is also responsible for DiscoverEU. Matteo Vespa Matteo is a member of the Executive Committee of the European Students’ Union. From 2016 to 2020 he was active in the Italian student union UDU. He works on: Public responsibility and financing of Higher Education, Fundamental values of the European Higher Education Area, EU Education Area.

Miguel Hernández Blanco Miguel is 27 years old and from Valladolid, a city in the middle of Northwestern Spain, which he loves promoting. He studied Mechanical Engineering and an MBA and has worked in the consulting industry. After his Erasmus+ stay in Germany, he joined ESN Valladolid in September 2017, and since October 2020 he is the President of ESN Spain.

Milan Stojanovic Milan is a PhD in Sustainable Food Production from the University of Belgrade. He is a Chairman of Sweden Alumni Network Western Balkans, an ambassador of the UN Agenda2030 and a promoter of the Green Transition within the Western Balkan region. Milan joined the WBAA Board in October 2021.

Miruna Găman Maruna is a geographer with experience in multidisciplinary cultural projects. She is currently a PhD student in Cultural studies, a trainee within the joint Europa Nostra – ESACH (European Students’ Association for Cultural Heritage) programme and a project manager at the ARCHÉ Association in Romania.

Nadia Madoui López Nadia is a Comparative Literature Graduate from University College London, currently living in Hamburg, Germany. She has previously taken part in two different Erasmus + mobilities, both a university exchange in Granada in Spain and a European Solidarity Corps experience in Romania. She is currently the Main Chair of ComCom.

Nathan Lusseau Nathan, 24, is the current National Representative of ESN France. Passionate about sport and history, for some years about Erasmus+ and Europe; I like above everything else to exchange with people on knowledge and experience. Neli Kalinova Neli is a passionate ESN volunteer and education enthusiast. Since she joined ESN in 2016, she has become a dedicated team player and committed mentor, who loves learning through experience and “leading by example”. Niccolò Marchello Niccolò, ESN Italy volunteer since 2014, has collected assorted experiences during his efforts as National Communication Manager, International ComComer, member of the task force that created the brand new ESN Visual Identity Manual, and more. Niki Moraiti Niki joined ESN in 2017 chasing after non-formal education experiences and eventually joined Eduk8 as a Facilitator in 2019. She’s been through various positions in the network like Local Communication Manager, Training Coordinator of ESN Greece and SEEP and Eduk8 Communication Officer. She studied to be a language teacher but prefers non-formal “teaching” on topics like culture, communication, gender and social inclusion.

Nova Sport Team Amir, Karam and Nova Fattal from Nova Sport make one excellent team. Karam is passionate about sport and entrepreneurship. He is responsible for app design, marketing and business development. Amir is passionate about sport and entrepreneurship, and he is responsible for IT project management, testing and finance. Nova is experienced in partnership, negotiation and management and takes the crown achievement of building the network of Cigna GCC & received the Cigna rising star award in Q2 of 2017.

Octavia Tudorache Octavia is a highly motivated volunteer possessing communication skills and critical thinking, with international experience due to her study exchange. She can describe herself as an active person, passionate about learning languages, adventurous, willing to learn and embrace changes. Talkative and attentive, extrovert and introvert, artistic and rational, sweet and spicy – in equilibrium with all the elements.

Olivia Parczyk Olivia joined ESN Köln in 2015. In the past 6 years, she was active in the local board, acted as President of ESN Germany, was part of the Membership Team and since 2020, she is the Liaison Officer for Asia. Having done exchanges in Korea and Japan (partially virtual), she is no stranger to vast cultural differences and issues with collaborating across continents.

Panagiotis Chatzimichail Panagiotis is one of the Board Members of the European Youth Forum. He holds a Political Sciences degree and he has been active in the field of advocacy and youth policy since 2010. As part of his work in Youth Forum, Pete is part of what is known as the "Rights Cluster" supporting the Forum's work linked to Youth Rights, Social and Economic Inclusion, Platform Workers and the Future of Work, and Volunteering, Youth Work, NFE and Mobility.

Paola Di Marzo Paola is the Project Officer at ESN. She has experience in EU funded programs and expertise in social, political and environmental issues. At ESN she is in charge of projects in the field of environment, international mobility and inclusion. She also worked at the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of the European Commission, at the University of Bologna, and at Caritas Italiana.

Piet Van Hove Piet is the Vice President of the European Association for International Education (www.eaie.org) and Senior Policy Advisor at the University of Antwerp (Belgium). He has been working on the internationalisation of higher education since 1995, dealing with student and staff mobility, development cooperation, international educational projects and strategic networking.

Rajon Bhuiyan Rajon is the Director of the Outreach and Capacity Building (OCB) Unit of EMA. As the Director of EMA`s OCB Unit, Rajon wants to promote EMA globally and promote Erasmus Joint Masters programs as one of the most attractive Master's programs in the world. Rajon is currently based in Luxembourg where he is working as a doctoral researcher at the University of Luxembourg in the field of energy systems.

Rareș Gherasim Rareș is a member of the Social Impact Team & PhD Candidate in the field of Sustainable Development. His main interests revolve around arts & culture, love for nature and active citizenship. Rebeka Dajak Rebeka is the President of ESN Croatia who finished a Master's in Portuguese language and pedagogy, currently working at the International office of Algebra University College and organising accredited short summer programs in Silicon Valley and Toronto. Sandy Pantelidou Sandy is a Computer Science graduate and an active member of ESN AUTH Thessaloniki, Greece for the last 3 years. Sara Tagliabracci Sara was born in 1997 and grew up in Follonica, Italy. In 2019 she graduated in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation and did two Erasmus in Spain. Since 2020 she is a Master's student in International and Diplomatic Sciences and has been studying at the Faculty of Political Science of Paris 1-Panthéon Sorbonne. Member of ESN Siena GES since 2018, Sara held the position of Section Vice-President and the current position of Education Officer of ESN Italy.

Sarah Expósito Ragaigne Sarah has been a volunteer since 2018 when she joined ESN Orléans in France. Selen Onur Selen is ESN International’s Office Manager, she manages the daily administrative tasks of the organisation and supports its network. Serena Țenea Serena, 25 years old, has been a member of garagErasmus since 2019, currently working as the Liaison Officer of the Foundation. She has broad experience in transnational relations, intercultural communications, and E+ project management as she worked within the University of Almeria IROs and has been an E+ promoter for the Romanian National Agency.

Shani Band Shani is a Senior Academic Partnership Manager for monday.com. Professor for innovation at the College of Management and Academic Studies, Israel. Shani is leading all monday.com EMEA students for success, helping them save time and effort by using the monday.com platform. monday.com is a Work Operating System (Work OS) that powers teams to run projects and workflows with confidence.

Sheila Esteban Sheila is a 27-year-old from Bilbao, Northern Spain, where she studied Tourism and is currently working as a translator. Sheila joined ESN Bilbao in September 2017 trying to have a reverse Erasmus experience, and since July 2021 she is the National Representative of ESN Spain.

Sissy Mano Sissy, a pharmacy student from Thessaloniki, Greece, started her ESN journey in February 2020, after being back from an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange programme in Estonia. She became an active member of ESN UoM Thessaloniki in June 2020, where she served as the local Vice-President, and currently is the Project Manager of her section.

Sule Ş. Çelik Sule is the current Treasurer of ESN Turkey. She is in charge of the Financial Development Committee, which has a team of Crypto Projects and a team just for ESNcard. Since events are their main source of income, she’s mostly interested in their national events. She hopes to share some insights into financial aspects.

Suzi Breslin Suzi is the Programme and Training Officer for the Irish Council for International Students (ICOS). She has worked in international education for nearly a decade and, as one of the Fellowship team, is well placed to advise on many matters of importance to international students. Suzi delivers training on Intercultural Awareness and Communication and is interested in further research to advocate on behalf of international students with disabilities and widen access to international education for all.

Teresa Algarra Teresa was born in 1997 in Granada, Spain. She studied Telecommunications Engineering at the UGR, doing three international mobilities during her studies. When she started her Master's degree in Germany she joined ESN Hamburg, where she currently is PR and Event Manager. Additionally, she also is part of the Causes Committee in ESN Germany

Tereza Pruknerová Tereza is a master’s degree student in Development, Education and International Cooperation at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. An active volunteer in the area of development and education in the Czech Republic and in Finland. Local Representative in ESN Jyväskylä.

Thanos Santorinaios Thanos is born in 2001. BSc Chemistry student at the University of Ioannina, Greece, he considers himself a part of the Erasmus Generation - he is an active member/volunteer in ESN Ioannina and ESN Greece, volunteer as a DiscoverEU Ambassador since February 2021 and participant in multiple Erasmus+ Programs. He is actively promoting the benefits of Erasmus+ initiatives on young adults.

Theodoros Markou Theodoros has been in ESN for almost 9 years! He is from Cyprus, but studying Architecture Engineering in Greece, Patras! He had the chance to go through many positions and projects and learn a lot about tools, guidelines, recruitment, human resources, training and volunteers’ recognition and many many more. He will be waiting for you to discuss ESN Wiki, new topics or ideas, and anything else in general.

Thomas Moch Thomas joined ESN in 2018 in the German section of Karlsruhe after coming back from his Erasmus in Valencia, Spain. After a year as Local President in 2020, he became President of ESN Germany in 2021 while continuing with the same vision: Bringing together people from different places to overcome national boundaries.

Tiago Candeias Tiago graduated in Cultural Heritage and is a MA Student in History & Heritage (UAlg). He works as a Project Manager at Faro 2027 and as a freelancer for some organisations, especially in the field of heritage education. He is also a MACE Ambassador and R-EU-FTOP Academy Nomad [ECRN.city].

Tobias Claus Tobias is a 1995 born German physicist. He developed a broad European view through two mobility experiences in his studies. As a member of ESN since 2019, he got deep insights into the network on all levels. Tobias was elected to be ESN Germany Project Manager 2022/23 and is part of the Network Committee.

Tuçe Kılıçarslan Tuçe has been active in ESN for 4.5 years now. She has worked in various levels of ESN in different positions and committees. Currently, she is the National Vice-President of ESN Turkey. Due to her position, she is mostly responsible for national events. She’s organised 15 events so far with her organisation committee.

Viktor Subert Viktor is a committed and enthusiastic ESN volunteer since 2017 who is passionate about the education field. To him education is a great cause that he would like to contribute to throughout his life and he sees being an ESNer and ICE member as the perfect means for that.

Wim Gabriels Wim is the Director of ESN and he has thorough experience in project management of European-level projects and a deep understanding of the educational landscape in Europe. Active in the field of Diversity and Inclusion and Community Engagement, Wim strives to make the Internationalisation of Education contribute to society.

Yasser Haddad Yasser loves spreading love and smiles, dancing and cooking his way through life, and finally sharing his passion for sustainability and the fight against climate change. This is what defines Yass. After an exchange in Sweden, he decides to join ESN, a decision he doesn’t regret. Fast-forward almost 3 years, he is currently the president of ESN Switzerland. ESN aside, he's a data freak who's about to finish his Master's in Data Science.

Yassin Khalil With over 5 years of experience in student representation, Yassin Khalil is the current Liaison Officer for Africa and the Middle East for ESN International. With 3 years of National level experience, he is also currently the Education and Mobility Officer of ESN UK. Locally, he has been President of ESN City London for 2 years. Outside of ESN, Yass has a range of experiences in finance, insurance and learning and personal development.

Zamzam Ibrahim Zamzam, Vice President of European students Union, a co-founder of Students Organising for Sustainability UK, Vice-Chair of the Muslim Leadership Foundation and the former National President of the National Union of Students, UK. Her main focus lies on internationalisation and mobility, public responsibility and financing of higher education.
