Module Brief Title: Product, Range & Distribution

STUDIO BRIEF 1: Project Proposal Project Rationale Project Rationale. (what do you intend to do and why?) For this module I aim to produce an in depth, creative body of work that explores the issues, diversity, beauty and detail within nature and its varying environments/organisms. I aim to approach this by producing work in keeping with my chosen area of context: Object & Environment. I would like to visually communicate the contrast between natural worlds / realms / environments / realities / perceptions by exploring pattern, scale, media, colour, detail, distortion and perspective. Through this body of work and my final range of resolutions, I hope to educate, enlighten, immerse, create interest and grab the attention of my audience whilst pushing my illustrative practice forward and undertaking new creative methods and processes.

THEMES / SUBJECTS What Themes/Subjects will form the content of your work for this module? This should include Theoretical and non- creative based content and concerns. This section should identify your consideration of the social, cultural, ethical and creative concerns of contemporary practice GENERAL THEMES: • • • • • • •

Object and space / its environment Nature and Environment Colour Pattern Interactive creativity Scale Multilayers, lenticular, perspective

SPECIFIC SUBJECTS: • -

Flora & Fauna Plants - Troglodytes Fungi - A unique grouping of organisms Coral - Psychoactive organisms & the effects Micro-organisms

• -

Environments Ocean, - Mountains Forest, - Sky City, - Space Caves - Environmental issues (pollution, loss of habitat etc)

• -

Collision of worlds (environments / scale / content / light) Macro vs Colossal

• • •

Colour theory, light and application Illusion, optical illusion, pattern, detail, multilayers, morph, reflection, distort, lenticular, perspective Change, perception, the unusual/uncommonly seen, reality, transition

PRACTICAL & CONCEPTUAL APPLICATION What areas of Illustration do you intend to investigate in relation to the practical and conceptual, production / distribution of work in response to selected briefs. SPECIFIC DISCIPLINARY AREA: Object & Environment Calling on elements which cross over into other areas such as: - Product & Packaging - Narrative - Education AUDIENCE/CONTEXTS: Creative practitioners Those with an interest in nature and the environment Those with an appreciation for public art / interactive art / underground culture PRODUCTION / DISTRIBUTION METHODS: Product / 3D Object: Distributed through creative fairs, galleries, creative events, exhibitions, art stores, online presence / website. Mural / Installation: Distributed through word-of-mouth, view artwork in person, day-to-day progress online diary/blog/website, animated GIF created from final artwork, prints/stickers/postcards/zine of final artwork could be sold. Could appear in galleries, art stores, exhibitions, skate shops, underground events CONTEXTUAL REFERENCES Identify areas of professional/creative practices that will inform the contextualization of the work that you produce. This should include specific illustrators, studios, practitioner’s and products as well as broader creative disciplines and methods of Production / Distribution. CREATIVE SKILLS What practical skills do you intend to further develop and apply during your project. What do you intend to use the skills for. Consider extending the use of skills that you already have in order to deliver work of a higher standard as well as identifying new skills that you will need to develop.

- Creativity at different scales - Consideration for space / environment / interaction / experience - Airbrush / spray paint techniques - Colour theory & application - Stencil / masking skills - Digital techniques: projection, GIF, animation, music generation - Paper-cut / engineering - Detail, accuracy & complexity in my compositions / final resolutions - Model making – concept through to mockup (installation?) - Mixed media materials: ink, paint, paper, print, 3D (wood, Perspex, vinyl etc), biodegradable / natural? - Knowledge & application of digital software & print: Ai, Ps, Ae, Id

KEY TEXTS. List a selected number of books, articles and texts that are central to your proposed area of practice. These should include a combination of design and non-practice based books, theoretical texts as well as visual publications. You should include a list of relevant websites

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Notes: Following further ideas generation, investigation, research and experimentation, I… need to narrow ideas down – choose one in depth area of focus need to decide what it is I would like to produce: - Mural, pubic art - Installation - Object, product and its packaging - Large Scale Artwork • need to decide on media and creative process, techniques and approach • •
