CHANEL RETURNS TO THE MARBELLA CLUB
Chanel has opened the doors of its boutique at the Marbella Club. Clients are welcome to discover the Spring-Summer 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection – a tribute to the carefree and confident allure of the 1990s. Later in the season, they can check out the 2021/22 Métiers d’art collection, which celebrates the savoir-faire of Chanel’s privileged artisan partners. MARBELLA DEEMED SECOND-BEST DESTINATION IN EUROPE BY EUROPEAN BEST DESTINATIONS
Voters on the website, European Best Destinations, deemed Marbella the second-favourite tourist destination in Europe for 2022. The voters hailed from 182 countries and they rated characteristics such as the weather, quality of life, gastronomy, hotels/resorts, and leisure activities. CUDECA PRESENTS THE YUSUF HAMIED CENTRE
Cancer hospice charity, Cudeca, has been busier than ever, having recently opened the new Yusuf Hamied Centre. Located next to Cudeca’s palliative care centre, the new three-floor building will be used to train social and healthcare professionals. Cudeca also signed a collaborative agreement with Grupo Stratomille, a restaurant group that will be supporting the charity financially. The Undercover Festival will be bringing the best tribute bands in the world to Marbella Arena and Paris 15, from June 24 to 26. A total of 10 international tribute bands will perform the greatest classic rock hits of all time with the authenticity you crave. The DES (Digital Enterprise Show) will be taking place in Málaga from June 14 to 16 at the Málaga Trade Fair and Congress Centre. BIOPARC FUENGIROLA’S
IMPRESSIVE CONSERVATION WORK
Bioparc Fuengirola recently celebrated the birth of two turtles from the endangered species, Palustre asiática. They are the descendants of turtles that arrived at the park in 2001 following a large-scale confiscation of thousands of these animals in Hong Kong. The turtles were being illegally transported to China for food in deplorable conditions. Bioparc Fuengirola is also the only centre of its kind in Spain to be working on the conservation of the Malayan tapir. SHINE AT INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL COMPETITION
The Bears (El Oso Football Club of Marbella) performed magnificently at the U11 International Football competition in Verona, Italy. Clearly buoyed from wearing their new sponsored Mitchell’s Prestige Properties kit, they played against teams from France, Italy, and Egypt. After three long days, the team qualified as joint group winners and went on to play the H-International School of Rosa. The Elite group final took place on Sunday morning in front of 500 spectators. Despite losing 2-1, the boys can take heart in the knowledge that they were the youngest team there.
