The work consists of cutting and pasting my own memories and recreating a sequence of conversations. These dialogues are written below the images in a very slow-motion sequence, as a subtitle below on a white frame. The operation arises from the necessity to insert time and context in the drawings. Words are the instrument to relate an idea or a feeling that involves that specific part of the past.
So, the drawings are a mechanism to order and compose one’s memories, as a path to memories for the eye.
The travel was made with the intention to create a future memory record, as a visual diary about the dialogues and the landscape.
The entire series is about remembering and treasuring the other’s gaze. Saving a collection of moments.
The need for registration arose from the feeling of holding back time; the whole trip would be there, repeating itself eternally.
