English artist Maxwell Rushton (born 1989), graduated from Leeds College of Art in 2012 with a 1st Class Honours in Fine Art. Maxwell's work predominantly focuses on our relationship with commercial popular culture and how we as individuals are influenced by it. Using a range of mediums his multidisciplinary practice spans from the instant and humorous to the durational and painstaking. He draws upon his own turbulent relationship to mainstream culture/commerce to express both his rejections and obsessions.

“INSIDE” Series With the medium of his own blood, artist Maxwell Rushton has recreated the Swiss physician Hermann Rorschach’s (1884–1922) series of 10 inkblot cards in his own series called ‘Inside’. The Rorschach Inkblot Test was largely used with the goal of understanding psychological disorders such as schizophrenia from the 1920’s-1970’s. Maxwell was inspired to make the series after being diagnosed with his own psychological disorder in 2015.
