Applications received without this form will not be considered. Conditions of the Scholarship In the event that I am awarded an English-Speaking Union Scholarship, I agree to the following conditions*: Academic I will take seriously my academic obligations and participate fully in the academic life of the school. This includes, but is not limited to: attending all classes, meeting deadlines, completing homework tasks, sitting tests, Financial Most schools require a deposit payable at the beginning of each term to cover the cost of books, equipment or personal expenses incurred. If successful you scholarship will cover board and tuition. All other costs flights, insurance and incidental living expenses, estimated at around £3500 - are covered and arranged by the participants themselves. All participants must pay a contribution fee of £220 to the ESU. General I understand that I am expected to accept the school to which I am allocated and that my preferences cannot be guaranteed. I will abide by the rules of the host school. I will remain at the host school until the end of the academic year. I will return to the UK after my scholarship overseas terminates I understand that the host school has the right to withdraw my scholarship if I fail to act responsibly. I understand that I will forfeit my deposit (of £100) if I do not complete the academic year. * Both students and their parents/guardians are required to initial each point and sign below

Once selected for an award scholars become part of the alumni programme, a scheme which offers continued support and contact with the ESU. It is hoped that scholars will be able to enjoy the hospitality of Dartmouth House in the future and maintain links with each other and with the ESU.
