- A Secondary Schools Exchange (SSE) scholarship gives you the opportunity to spend a life-changing year or six months at a private North American high school. During your scholarship you will: • develop new academic and social skills, have opportunities to travel, try new sports and meet life-long friends • learn new subjects and study with different teaching methods • share ideas with others and also challenge their ideas and preconceptions. During an SSE scholarship you have the chance to learn subjects not covered in UK colleges and study with different teaching methods to broaden your academic knowledge before university. You could even take advantage of trying out new sports and other exciting activities such as prom, Thanksgiving and other uniquely American endeavours. Away from academic advantages and extra-curricular activities, you will learn about yourself and what you can achieve. You will be able to learn to share ideas with others and also challenge your own ideas and preconceptions. Alumni comment on how memorable and life-changing their time in the States has been.
