UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS
Emporia State’s School of Business has provided me real-world experience. In addition to being president of ESU’s Beta Alpha Psi, in a management class we worked with an HR professional from Coca-Cola over a semester. It was neat to learn that diversity is more complex than race.
n ACCOUNTING
n BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
Accounting provides much of the information managers need to make decisions concerning business, governmental units and not-for-profit organizations. Accounting generates information about an organization’s resources, the source of those resources and how effectively the resources have been used. Without professional and ethical accountants, businesses would not be able to prosper and give back to their communities.
A major in Business Administration will enable you to explore the areas of business you find most interesting, while gaining a solid working knowledge about other areas of business. This is extremely important as companies strive to maintain a competitive advantage in a global business environment and as they increasingly rely on team efforts to achieve critical business objectives.
Program of Study The School of Business offers an Accounting major within the Bachelor of Science in Business degree program plus a minor for students majoring in areas other than accounting.
Program of Study You will take classes in Accounting, Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Management and Marketing. I’m a part of Chi Omega, theatre, Honors College and Phi Beta Lambda. I chose to be a part of Honors College because I knew it would give me a deeper understanding of my courses and apply them. It’s one thing to learn in a classroom, but it’s a much richer experience to go out and apply the concepts.
