LAST TIME VS. CENTENARY
ETBU 2, CC 1 AUGUST 30, 2013 SHREVEPORT, La. – With only 13 minutes left in the match and the score deadlocked at one all, Paola Bear gave East Texas Baptist University the game winning goal to take the season opener, 2-1. Bear took a shot to the back of the goal from a beautiful pass from Kelsey Biscoe for the winning goal. ETBU was on the board early as Erin Miller scored her first collegiate goal and first goal of the year in the seventh minute. Centenary did not take long to strike back tying the game up at one in the 20th minute when Madison Alexander slipped one by then goalie Sara Collazo. The next 25 minutes ETBU had three corner kicks and took four shots to try and take the lead. Bear had two of the four shots as both were saved by Centenary’s Erica Coker. In the second half, ETBU took four shots with three on goal in the first 30 minutes. Bear finally broke through for the game winning goal in the 77th minute as ETBU moved ahead, 2-1. Centenary took no shots after that point. ETBU took 18 total shots in the match with 12 in the first half and six in the second half putting 13 shots on goal. Centenary only took four shots with two on goal. Sarah Collazo started the match and Christina Salas finished the second half for the win recording both saves.
