Our education and training higher education courses are in partnership with Teesside University and welcome adults of all ages. These part-time courses give you the flexibility to schedule your studies around your work and/or family commitments.

BE INSPIRED HIGHER EDUCATION GRADUATE, AMY, IS FURTHERING HER CAREER IN TEACHING. Amy, from Redcar, studied the FdA Supporting Teaching and Learning before topping up to a full degree with the BA (Hons) Education and Training, graduating in 2020. Amy chose to study the higher education courses at Redcar & Cleveland College because they were delivered on a parttime basis and a colleague at her school recommended the College. She said: “After seven years of being a teaching assistant, I decided to train to become a teacher. My tutor was inspirational and her
knowledge of each module was second to none!” “By researching education policies in depth, it helped me to really understand the education system and see how and why policies are operated in schools.” Amy has progressed again in her studies and is now in her Initial Teacher Training (ITT). Amy is hopeful that she will have a long and successful career in teaching and is using her new skills and knowledge in practice.
BURSARIES AVAILABLE FOR FUTURE FE TEACHERS Initial Teacher Education (ITE) bursaries* are available to those studying to become a further education (FE) teacher in the academic year 2021/22. Apply now to study our Cert Ed/PgCE Teaching in Education and Training course. If you’re eligible, you may receive a bursary of up to £26,000 for training to teach! *More information and full eligibility criteria is available to view in the Bursary Funding Manual on the www.gov.uk website.
