ABOUT US
We would like to congratulate your young person on completing enrolment and choosing to study at Bede Sixth Form College.
Here at Bede, we offer a wide range of A levels, A level equivalents, vocational courses, apprenticeships all of which give students the skills and knowledge that they need to progress in their chosen sector. Courses will have a combination of theory based and practical work which will prepare students for whatever progression route they choose whether this be higher education or employment.
In this guide you will find everything your young person needs to know about becoming a student with us at Bede!
KEY DATES
Each half term we assess students current progress through a process called Progress Monitoring. Once assessments have been marked, we will update parents each half term via email with a Progress Monitoring summary (please ensure you have provided us with an up-to-date email address during enrolment - if you haven’t, please email bede.enquiries@stockton.ac.uk). If you would like to speak to us about your child’s progress, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
Please note, in our drive to be a sustainable college, most of our communications will be via email rather than post.

COLLEGE INFORMATION
Students will receive a bespoke exam timetable. If you are taking a linear subject, you will sit a mock exam. Please note, holidays should not be taken during this time.
Within college you will be supported by a talented team of Personal Progression Coaches and careers guidance professionals. The move from school to sixth form is challenging in many ways and our team are on hand to ease this transition and provide you with the platform to not only excel in your studies, but to give you full confidence in moving towards your own career goals. If you have any worries or concerns, please ask any member of staff for support.
STUDY TIMETABLE 2024-25
Students will have two double lessons per day across three and a half blocks in the week (each colour represents a block); three blocks for their subject sessions and one block for their Personal Progression Session. You will get your actual timetable on your first day of college.
For example, a student may have the following timetable:
Sociology: A1, A2, A3, A4 (Blue)
Psychology: C1, C2, C3, C4 (Green)
Law: D1, D2, D3, D4 (Yellow)
Personal Progression Sessions: B1 and B2 (Orange)
This would mean that they would not be required to attend lessons in E block. Students can use this time to study in college or at home.
STUDENT PLUS
To support our students with their studies, and to help them achieve the best results they can, we offer several support and intervention programmes, under the banner of 'Student Plus', throughout the year.
These programmes include:
• Supervised Study
• Study Skills Workshop
• Low Mood Workshop
• Anxiety Workshop
In some cases, this support will be mandatory - for example, following PM those students most at risk will be required to attend supervised study. In other cases, staff can refer students onto an intervention programme.
Interventions can run for as long as required and students can be referred for different interventions throughout the year.
BUS TIMETABLE
Please find the college bus timetables below. Students will need to refer to the summer timetable from the 14th April 2025 for the rest of the term. This is because it’s exam season and the bus will collect students an hour earlier, to make sure they are at college in time to sit their exams.
Please note that morning pick up times will be one hour earlier after the Easter holiday period and will arrive at Bede in time for a 9am start.
