We are very lucky at Redcar & Cleveland College to have so many great things to see and do nearby! Here are some of our favourites...

LOCKE PARK

Situated next to the College, Locke Park is home to a boating lake, tennis courts and luscious gardens to explore.

GUISBOROUGH FOREST

With a number of different walks and trim trails, Guisborough Forest provides the ideal opportunity to explore our local woodlands.

FESTIVAL OF THRIFT

Kirkleatham is home to the Festival of Thrift, an annual outdoor festival which promotes sustainable living through upcycling and recycling. You will also find great music, entertainment and food at the festival.

SPORT IN REDCAR AND CLEVELAND

If playing and watching live sport is your thing then Redcar and Cleveland has a wide variety of sports from football and rugby through to cricket and speedway.

ENJOY A LEMON TOP IN REDCAR

Redcar is famous for its lemon top, an ice cream cone topped with a swirl of lemon sorbet. There are a number of places on Redcar seafront where you can try the local delicacy for yourself!

I have always wanted to do hairdressing. It is really interesting and when I was little I would cut my own hair so I always knew from an early age that this was my career aspiration. I am really happy to have secured my first job as a hair stylist in a hair salon in Whitby. • Living in Whitby, this was the closest college to me that offered this type of course • The tutors are really good here and they are always willing to support you • It offered me the opportunity to meet new people
