LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA IN ENGINEERING OPERATIONS
1 YEAR
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
This exciting course provides you with the practical skills required for a career in a wide range of engineering disciplines. You will learn maintenance skills, manufacturing skills, machining and fitting, work planning and how to read engineering drawings.
WHAT GRADES DO I NEED?
Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above or a level 1 qualification in a related course.
WHAT’S NEXT?
On completion of this course you could progress on to one of our level 3 engineering courses or look to secure an engineering related apprenticeship.
LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN ENGINEERING
1 YEAR
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Building on skills developed on the Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations, you will learn about health and safety, principles of engineering and mechanical manufacturing engineering. You will also learn key engineering skills such as machining materials by turning, milling and grinding. This is a popular course for students wishing to develop practical skills for a career in advanced manufacturing.
WHAT GRADES DO I NEED?
Four GCSEs grade 4 or above or a level 2 qualification in a related course and GCSEs grade 4 or above in English, maths and science.
WHAT’S NEXT?
After you have completed this course you could enter employment or look to secure yourself a higher apprenticeship in engineering.
2 YEARS
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
This exciting new engineering course will build on skills developed on the Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations and covers the principles of engineering and engineering maintenance, health and safety, manufacturing and machining.
You will gain key skills which will allow you to progress in a wide range of engineering maintenance roles.
WHAT GRADES DO I NEED?
Four GCSEs grade 4 or above or a level 2 qualification in a related course and GCSEs grade 4 or above in English, maths and science.
WHAT’S NEXT?
After you have completed this course you could progress into higher education to an engineering related degree. You could also look to secure yourself a higher apprenticeship in engineering or enter employment.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
This course will teach you both the practical skills and theory knowledge required for a wide range of engineering disciplines. Practical sessions will take place in our brand new engineering centre where you will learn skills including hand fitting, machining, mechanical maintenance and drawings as well as the principles of both mechanical and electrical engineering.
WHAT GRADES DO I NEED?
Four GCSEs grade 4 or above or a level 2 qualification in a related course and GCSEs grade 4 or above in English, maths and science.
WHAT’S NEXT?
After you have completed this course you could progress into higher education to an engineering related degree. You could also look to secure yourself a higher apprenticeship in engineering or enter employment. If you don’t have English and maths at GCSE grade 9-4, you will continue to work towards this as part of your main programme of study.
LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN RENEWABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY (NEW)
1 YEAR
WHAT WILL I DO?
This course will teach you both the practical skills and theory knowledge required to work and support regional growth in emerging and future sectors in the renewable and clean energy industries. You will learn the principles of wind power generation, air source heat pumps and energy efficiency systems alongside traditional fundamental principles of engineering.

Four GCSEs grade 4 or above or a level 2 qualification in a related course and GCSEs grade 4 or above English, maths and science.
WHAT’S NEXT?
After you have completed this course you could progress into higher education to an engineering related degree. You could also look to secure yourself an apprenticeship in engineering or enter employment.
LEVEL 3 T LEVEL: MAINTENANCE, INSTALLATION AND REPAIR FOR ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING
BRAND NEW T LEVEL
2 YEARS
WHAT WILL I DO?
Our brand new Engineering and Manufacturing T Level will allow you to specialise in mechanical engineering and mechatronics. You will learn key industry skills including robotics, programmable logic control, hydraulics and pneumatics, as well as the principles of both mechanical and electrical engineering.
You will also undertake a high quality, structured and outcomes-focused industry placement, this is an integral part of the new T Level programme. The industry placement will be aligned to your career aspirations identified in your career plan which will be 750 hours and could include up to two employers.
The industry placements will support you to develop a breadth of new skills to provide you with a valuable opportunity to progress towards your career goals.

Five GCSEs grade 4 or above including English, maths and science or a level 2 qualification in a related course.
WHAT’S NEXT?
You could progress onto university to study engineering related degree programmes, move into employment in the engineering sectors or look to secure a higher apprenticeship.
