Letter Model For this task we need to work in groups of two choose an initial letter and develop a word that is related to the letter. I was doing is the ‘M’ and my teammate was Will CurtissI. We had three different ideas which are about Macaroon, M&M’s and Money. We finally selected the word ‘Money’ and we presented it by coins.

For the final work I used the knowledge of typography and geometric space for the design of the quote. I think Presenting the sentence from different angle and of differnet direction and using the gradient colour for the texts would increas the sense of space.

The Poole Trip Team Mates: Harry Murr Tyrone Westlake This is a assignment about typography and photography. The main purpose of this trip was taking picture of the letters in the landscapeand we were required to finished it in a one day trip in Poole. During the trip we can also take pictures we like as visual journal. The reason why we went to Poole is because it is a twon with long history and beautiful landscape.

Poster Design

Exhibition Poster

12

Process

This is the poster I designed for our course exhibition. The main image I used is an obstract shape which is similar to a heart. As you can see the image is organized by triangles of different sizes and differe colours.I tried to use some blue but later I thought the contrast of the colours is too strong and it would be identified as a heart easier if there is more warm colours. What I was trying to present is my obsession of simple and clean graphic design.

Film Scenes and Process:

This is a poster I designed for the film I am making which is called ‘Slipper Theft’. Although this is my individual project and it is not revelant to any task of this unit, I used the knowledge I have learned to finish this poster such as the use of colour, photography and typography.

Exhibition Pictures

BA Graphic Design held an one day exhibition (17th Feb) in the Graphic Design Main Studio. The aim is to explore the love of graphics through a display of graphic artifacts, text and some collections collated by students and staff.

17

What I presented for this exhibition is a disc collection of some famous and classic films from different ages, as it could be seen the picture at the lower right corner. I think It is nice to see the cover designs of the films because it is a kind if branding and it is also interesting to see the difference of the designs from different time.

Science Museum

We first visited the Science Museum in London, which is one of three major museums on Exhibition Road in South Kensington, London. It was founded in 1857 and today is one of the city's major tourist attractions, attracting 2.7 million visitors annually. Like other publicly funded national museums in the United Kingdom, the Science Museum does not charge visitors for admission. Temporary exhibitions, however, may incur an admission fee. It is part of the Science Museum Group, having merged with the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester in 2012.

Chinatown

We were very lucky becuase people were celebrating the Chinese New Year at that time. It is an important traditional Chinese holiday celebrated at the turn of the Chinese calendar. In China, it is also known as the Spring Festival, the literal translation of the modern Chinese name. Chinese New Year celebrations traditionally run from Chinese New Year's Eve, the last day of the last month of the Chinese calendar, to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first month, making the festival the longest in the Chinese calendar. Because the Chinese calendar is lunisolar, the Chinese New Year is often referred to as the "Lunar New Year".
